Horrible overall dining ezxperience. Decent quality of the sushi, but for the same price range you can find a lot better. Waitress and manager were rude, interrupting me and my gf’s dinner several times for the most irrelevant reasons. Atmosphere of a place pretending to be what its not.

Came here for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon and the place was not even half full. Service was excellent, but food was only so so. My friends ordered the filet mignon and the one that wanted medium rare got medium and the one that wanted medium got well done. I wanted the grill salmon medium and got it well done. The baked cod was so salty that we could not continue eating it. I will probably just come back for drinks, but food not really worth it.

A-OK. This place was nice… but that was it. I came here with my friend for a quiet dinner and we both left somewhat satisfied. The décor and setup of this restaurant is very conducive to have deep conversations(without other people overhearing etc). The food, whoever, is quite standard despite being on a slightly more expensive then average scale. We got crispy rice, potstickers, the miso sea bass, the steak and a sushi role that really wasn’t memorable. The service was great through!

I am a super fan of the Bryant park location, so when I changed jobs I shed a tear for the fact that I would no longer get free client lunches there. But lo and behold, there is a Koi in Soho, the food is just as fantastic, and the free client lunches shall continue – everyone wins! The Crispy Rice is my absolute favorite. If I’m in a party of 5, I’ll order 2… …times 2 is 4. I will order four of these. Because they’re just THAT good. Secondly, you can’t go wrong with the rock shrimp, or the hamachi appetizers. There’s not a thing on this menu I don’t like. I’ve also been a fan of their Miso blackened cod and rolls. The she’s All That is expensive and pretty good, but wouldn’t really get this more than once. Essentially, you can’t go wrong here – especially if you’re willing to drop the big bucks.

With all that’s going on with Trump in the news I thought it would be interesting to check one of his restaurants and the experience went really well. The place was very clean and modern. From the restaurant doorstep to the toilets, everything was clean. The waiters were charming, available and helpful in guiding us to make the right choices, plus the service was okay in terms of waiting time. The food was delicious. Had an appetizer, an entrée and a dessert. And I’m quite picky on the latter, so kudos to them. If you want the ambiance of a cost, sexy bar on a Friday night this is the place to go because the noise level is lightly high. But again, it gives a certain vibe to the place. Not necessary my thing but it was enjoyable.

Great, albeit a bit pricey sushi/japanese spot in West SoHo. Went with a friend we ordered about 6 or 7 small plates to share. The cripsy rice is a must have; I could have eaten 3 plates of it. You can get it with tuna or yellowtail, we did the yellowtail. The speciality rolls were delicious, specifically the Sunfire roll. Loved the mango and avocado on top. Drinks-wise we both ordered the lychee martini, and it was pretty delicious. I had about 4 of them without even thinking(which is dangerous haha).

My favorite sushi in NYC! My family has loved this place for as long as I can remember. My favorite starters are the crispy rice with tuna and the veggie quinoa croquettes. The crispy rice is to die for and my favorite that I’ve ever had. The veggie quinoa croquettes are delicious and aren’t greasy or oily. The filet mignion is spectacular and the mashed potatoes are perfectly seasoned. And the sushi of course is great. They have a small selection of creative rolls that are all great, especially the dragon roll in my opinion. Many sushi restaurants slack in the dessert department, but not Koi. I recently had the sundae and it was great! It had so many delicious components. The environment and ambience is cool and fun. Would definitely recommend!

I came here for Restaurant Week and basically got to try majority of the stuff on the menu. The ambience was chill. I really like the music there, they were playing chill EDM music. The service was okay. Only had a problem with the waitress cleaning up plates that were not done. The bus boys were quick on taking away your finished dishes and refilling your water. Anyways, on to the food. APPETIZERS: Creamy Shrimp Tempura — It was delicious and crunchy Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna — The rice on the outside was crispy, but in the inside it was very chewy and very sticky. The tuna was alright, it wasn’t spicy at all. ENTREES: Peppercorn Filet Mignon — the steak was cooked perfectly, but I feel like it wasn’t filet mignon. It was good though Osusume — the nigiri sushi was good. I think they put Wasabi between the fish and the rice so be careful if you can’t handle Wasabi like that. The geleno roll was good, I just didn’t like the crispy onion and spinach chips on top. DESSERTS: Green Tea Tiramisu — it was pretty bland. I’m also not a fan of tiramisu so that didn’t help. I just wanted to try both desserts. It wasn’t terrible though. The fruits on top was not good at all. Flourless Chocolate Cake — this was a typical chocolate cake. Can’t go wrong with it. Overall, this was a okay place for Restaurant Week. There are definitely better places to try though.

Did restaurant week here with a friend and we ordered different things to share, so I basically tried almost everything on the menu. Perfect from beggining to end! The green tea tiramisu was unique and the fish in the sushi and sashimi was super fresh. The appetizer, the fried rice with spicy tuna was the best part probably. Try it!

I came here twice during restaurant week dinner with other people and although I only chose to do it once I have to say HUGE improvement from the horrific lunch experience I had last year. You get edamame for the table, a full portion of crispy rice which is amazing, 5 pieces of nigiri and a specialty roll with green tea tiramisu or chocolate flourless cake. I couldn’t have either dessert because of dietary restrictions but everything else was great and exactly what restaurant week should be. Also someone in our party couldn’t eat shellfish and they were accommodating with the nigiri which is a big change to how they handled diet sensitivities last year.

Restaurant week 2016 Bento Box: overnight rice, super salty miso soup Rice is definitely one crucial element in Japanese cuisine, but here, you will miss that fantastic flavor. I’d rather go home and use my rice cooker. The desert(I chose chocolate cake) was just like something you can buy in the supermarket, nothing special, the presentation was boring, and the taste was so ordinary. Not worth trying, go somewhere else people.

If you want to cheat yourself out of a great sushi experience eat here. There’s just no reason to go here. Was there last night for New Year’s Eve — the place was not busy at all, so no excuses for the awful service either. The one dish I vaguely recall liking at another koi location(Bryant park — and I only went there on business) was the crispy rice with tuna –it was a major disappointment. Crispy rice tasted and felt like it was prepared the night before, and with no care at that. As for the rest of the food, it was all just very mediocre, and for these prices a massive failure. It tasted and looked like supermarket sushi. The food had Zero care put into it. I’d never come back. If you’re the GM of this place you need to go dine at a few other food places and rethink your game plan. #overpriced #terribleservice #forgettable #tastedlikesupermarketaushi

After hearing my coworkers speak so highly about Koi SoHo, I was extremely excited to finally try it out for myself. However, I should have set my expectations lower as the whole experience was pretty lackluster. I could tell something was amiss when my party of 4 entered the restaurant and the hostess barely looked up from her post. Mind you, the restaurant was quite empty — and this was during lunch(12:00PM on a weekday). When we were finally seated, the hostess only gave us 3 waters(remember, this was a party of 4). After waiting for a while, the server finally came to our table. Each of us ordered rolls and one appetizer. The rolls were alright — mine was doused in sauce, thus making the experience quite inauthentic. For ~$ 25, I thought that they could’ve done so much better. However, there was one positive: my drink — a watermelon/cucumber cocktail. When we finished our rolls, we all ordered dessert. The wait for dessert was quite horrendous — 10 – 15 minutes for them to scoop a sundae into a bowl and to take mochi out of the freezer. At least the white chocolate was good. SERVICE: 2 out of 5(For a restaurant at such an opulent location, the service could have been much better) FOOD: 2 out of 5(I’ve had better rolls delivered by restaurants on Seamless) AMBIANCE: 3 out of 5 PRICE: 1 out of 5(Your sushi rolls should NOT be drowning in sauce to cover up such meager portions) Will I return to Koi SoHo? Probably not. If I ever want something from this restaurant, I’ll take it to go. If you want an authentic sushi experience and world-class service, skip Koi and go to Masa in Columbus Circle.

I dined last night at Koi Soho with my cousin who was visiting NYC on business. The restaurant was pretty empty at 8pm on Wed night. The first put off was being escorted to the far back corner of restaurant when entire restaurant was empty. There was some confusion about who our waiter was and for being so empty it took our assigned waiter 25min to come over and help us. Liz, who worked up front was very gratious and tried to help. I give Liz 5 stars! We ordered the fresh wasabi and for $ 12, we were given what we believe was a pretty skimpy portion. I personally felt the sushi quality was very good but overall the prices, service and quatity of food for what you pay for was not in sync. Our bill for 2 people with only a couple beers, came out to $ 100/head which I think was outrageous given what we ordered and still feeling hungry leaving. I also felt like lighting and ambiance could have been much better. Restaurant felt quite stale.

Great food and great hosting. I have been there a couple of times after working and their food is very good! The only bad part is that it is very pricey and I see it more of a date place rather than an after work snack. Almost 40 $ for an appetizer and two drinks was a lot, but if you have the money it is definitely worth it.

If you must choose between Koi Bryant Park and Koi Soho… choose Koi Bryant Park. Your tummy and self pride will thank you. The menu at koi soho and the service is so Grade D. I had to send 2 things back because it’s not how it’s tasted in the past or it was served cold or gummy(crispy tuna). I won’t ever return. I can’t spend 40 bucks on a drink and an apetizer for this kind of service. Ridiculous! Update, the manager had my crispy tuna remade and provide complementary. Its a nice touch. It’s tastes a little better but still not quiet like Bryant Park. I think the management is attentive but they should replace their entire kitchen staff. I’m not even full but I’m eager to leave and get some real food… maybe humus?

Surprised by the negative reviews — a lot seem to center around restaurant week but I do not know why. We were quite happy with our experience here. For me, I was looking for a light dinner as it was getting quite late and not seeing a sashimi plate on the menu I just asked for it and what came I was really very happy with. That plus a miso soup made all of my late night dinner needs satisfied and I left looking forward to coming back again.

Went here yesterday with 2 girlfriends for Restaurant Week. The prefix menu was $ 38: 1 app, 1 entrée, 1 dessert. However, I didn’t like enough of the choices to commit to the prefix, neither did my friends. So we decided to opt out of the prefix and order from the regular menu. 1– Crispy Rice(awesome. best dish of the night) 2– Rock Shrimp(too creamy and mushy for me) 3– Lobster Tacos(bland…) Drinks: no compliants. 1– Lychee Martini 2– Bleu Martini Service: Fast, friendly… what else could you ask for? Interior: Very fancy shamancy. typical high end restaurant in the city Overall: I wouldn’t recommend it. Wouldn’t go again. This place is overpriced and is catered for those who want AMERICAN-Japanese Cuisine, if you get what I mean.

Great bar and restaurant to eat sushi! Staff is nice either at the bar or the restaurant. This is a great place to hit on a Friday evening after a long week! Ambiance is good. Recommended to anyone who comes by this address.
