King Deli

I have been working next door for a decade! Yes it’s best for «drunk food», the egg and cheeSe is amazing and the philly cheese steak is of the hook! It’s reasonable for west village pricing. «Miguelito» is an amazing hard-​working –worker along with the guy from Nepal! Always friendly and helpful!

The first thing that hit me when i entered was the amazing smell of breakfast, eggs and bacon were sizzling and obviousy were the hot item of the morning.
I work a few blocks away and had an hour of downtime so i decided to try it out. The place is very small and has alot squeezed into it with very little room to maneuver, there were 3 people inside and i’d hate to see the place at peak time.
I tried a sesame bagel with chream cheese and it was just OK. Kind of tasted like a bagel you would get from a cart guy, but just slightly better. If i had a bigger appetite i would have tried an egg sandwich which smelled awesome.
They have lots of breakfast specials like a bagel with cream cheese for $ 1.50 and much more, It’s a decent spot to get breakfast.

Ok, so as you can see from my previous review I’ve been coming here fairly often for a good sandwich. That came to a crashing end last week. First, as I stood there waiting for my sandwich to be made, out from under one of the grocery racks came a young little kitten. Yes, he was cute and adorable and all that… but of course he rubbed himself all over the cans of grocery’s on the shelves and who knows where else he’d been rubbing. Then he crawled under the deli area, and around the refrigerators. I’m sure that had to be all kinds of wrong according to the health department. WARNING: if you by groceries there wipe off all the cans, bags, bottles WELL before opening.
Then when I got my sandwich the price had gone up to $ 6, and the bread was slightly hard. It had been sitting a while!
So I’m done with King Deli. I’ll let you know of other places in the hood that will take it’s place.

This place is an enabler for my laziness!
It has whatever my little heart desires and it is within steps of mi casa!
They have any item of convenience, fruits, milk, cheese, those little one pack cereals and Ben and Jerry’s Ice cream!
I usually come here for one thing and end up leaving with 5 items (at least 3 of them ice cream, heh)
Haven’t tried their deli items but they look pretty good! They have more than fair prices compared to Ray’s down the way and the staff is super nice!
its small but you get in and out with what you need! Also, I believe they are 24hr!
