THISREVIEWCOVERSKFC, NOTTHETACOBELL… The verdict is in: KFC’s chicken beats Popeye’s, but Popeye’s biscuits beat KFC’s by a mile. KFC’s biscuits are always a disappointment, because I know I can get Popeye’s buttery, moist biscuits any time. But I love KFC’s chicken, and since this place is a block from my house, I visit regularly. The 1-breast meal, with a side and a biscuit, is a pretty good deal. The general manager here is a very nice, hard-working, customer-service oriented gentleman. He really goes out of his way to help people, and is a credit to the store. Some of the employees are a little less than stellar, however. It’s a bit annoying to try to give your order to two girls who are having a conversation right in front of you and won’t shut up long enough to complete your order. More frustrating is when you give special instructions to the person taking your order, but they ignore you and let someone else fill the order incorrectly without passing your instructions along. Favorite sides: Baked beans, mashed potatoes with gravy, and sometimes the cole slaw. The extra crispy chicken is awesome; I loved chewing off that extra crunchy coating before I make it to the chicken meat itself. And the meat is always very moist, tender and tasty, unlike Popeye’s where it just isn’t all that. I prefer KFC hands down when it comes to chicken.
