Outside seating, fast service and clean heathy breakfast. I had the baked avocado and the fresh beet juice. The baked avocado was green and fresh, it had an egg on top. Simple yet good flavor. It came with a warm homemade biscuit. SOGOOD! The hubby had the egg sandwich and he loved it. We also shared the fruit ricotta pancakes. Again, fresh berries, the pancakes were soft and fluffy from the outside yet spongy from the inside. Will be back!

This place was awesome for a last visit while staying in NYC. The staff was so pleasant! Their muffins are homemade … I tried the banana walnut and I was not disappointed! I also had their version of a lox and bagel. Super amazing! One of the best I’ve ever had! This was the kind of place that«made» my trip! Kept a smile on my face all through the Lincoln tunnel! I’ll be visiting here again when I visit NYC again!

Wow really good croissants … Almond was our favorite. Pancakes were amazing, everything was fresh and tasted great. The only down side was it took a long time to get the food. When it came we were very happy! We will come again.

Stopped here for a qucik lunch in advance of a business meeting in thesame location. Nice modern place. Clean. It took a few minutes before I was told«just to take a seat» at one of the tables. Ok. A menu was quickly delivered. aThe, I waited; and waited; and waited. Finally a server came by to take my order: a sandwich. Then, I waited; and waited; and waited. Finally the sandwich was delivered. The sandwich was good and was fresh, but at $ 12 I thought at least a side of cole slaw or a pickle or something would be included. There doesn’t seem to be any urgency over customers. I won’t return. (By the way, the place is located between Dyer and 10th Avenue, not 9th Avenue.)

Cute coffee shop in Hell’s Kitchen area! I’ve only had their coffee. They offer a variety of coffee/espresso drinks. For non-dairy options, they offer coconut, almond and soy milk for extra 50 to 75 cents. Friendly barista that makes awesome almond lattes. Lattes are one size for $ 5 each(not including any surcharge). One of the better quality lattes in the area. They have a rewards/loyalty card! Remember to ask for it. There is a sit down area to enjoy their food menu as well. Unfortunately I cannot comment on their food since I have not tried it!

Loved this place! It was on the same block as our hotel, score! They have bloody mary’s for breakfast. They have a breakfast bagel that includes lox, onion, capers, tomato and cream cheese. It was a plain bagel — which usually isn’t my preference, but this breakfast sandwich rocked my world. The lox was so fresh and delicious. Tomato and onion was perfectly thin sliced. I think it was $ 14 and worth every penny! They are open until 8pm or 10pm depending on the day. Usually they have happy hour all afternoon. They have white and red sangria and both are delicious! What really gives Kava the five stars though is the service. We were there on three different occasions, with three different servers, and each one of them were super friendly. The kind of service that makes you want to come back.

Beautifully designed café that has Scandinavian sensibility and design. It had plenty of seating and nice staff. Coffee is top notch here. Cortado and cappuccino is excellent. Breakfast is freshly prepared. Omelette came with a very nice salad with a great dressing.

Super cute café with delicious breakfast food! We ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes and the frittata breakfast brioche which were both fantastic. The prices are reasonable and the portions will definitely fill you up.

This is a lovely spot to stop for so many reasons! Coffee! Yes! Breakfast! Ohhhhh yessss. They have a salmon and cream cheese sandwich that’ll make ya’ feel so fancy-fancy! And they have a great Bloody Mary! Those reasons alone will be enough I promise! Everything I’ve tried here is quality, especially the service. Quick and polite! Wam-Bam-Thank you… Sam… Salmon. It’s a great place for a date! A great place for a meeting! A great place to go by yourself and reflect upon your potentially meaningless existence! But as soon as you take a bite of their delicious treats, or take a sip of your morning drug-in-a-cup, you’ll be thinking! Why am I so depressing?! This caffeine feels great!!! One more reason to miss New York! On the list with… 1. The Halal Guys 2. Bronchitis 3. Crowds 4. Honking 5. Expensive Restaurants 6. Heartbreak 7. Bagels!!!

Walked into a very modern, chic, chill almost tranquil environment. Perfect atmosphere for a little meal. I particularly liked the service, the clear but quiet background house-lounge music(don’t worry it was not offensive, very laid back music) and on top of it all, the food and beverage were outstanding. Very hearty and unique, not just your average diner food. Quick service and good enough that I bookmarked this place to return again. Love it!

I wasn’t expecting that much from this place when first walking in – it kind of looks like a generic coffee breakfast place in a hotel. But service was friendly and quick. We ordered the fresh squeezed orange juice, iced coffee, small oatmeal and frittata brioche. The fresh squeezed orange juice did indeed taste fresh and the coffee was a little acidic but the bit of milk I put in it neutralized it. I like that they give you the milk on the side so you can put in as much(or as little) as you want. My boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed his frittata brioche, and even ate the tomato on it even though he hates tomato. I really liked my oatmeal – it wasn’t super sweet and instead grabbed more of its sweetness from the fresh fruit and granola and raisins on top. It was a small breakfast but very filling and would recommend if you’re looking for a quick sit down breakfast.

Good coffee + By the High Line = 8 dollars for two Americanos To-Go. Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon with Dad and needed a caffeine boost. We were helped by two friendly baristas and asked for two Americanos to-go. They have a tv inside, with maybe 14 seats and a few seats outside. It’s busy but not too loud and there’s a bathroom available to patrons. The coffees were of good quality(much better than Starbucks) and prices comparably. TLDR? great place to stop by for a cup of coffee f you’re by the Whitney and/or the High Line. It’s a bit pricey but not overdone.

I stumbled upon this little gem while trying to grab a quick bite before watching Angel Reapers at the Signature Theater. When you first walk in, it looks like a very high class, clean café. But, the ambiance here is very casual. You may order in the front or take a seat and someone will hand you the menu. They bring the food to you. The food presentation is beautiful and it taste great as well! What I loved about this place was the service. Our waiter(?) was very nice, informative and had a sense of humor which really made my stay here extremely pleasant. Overall, I would definitely come again to try other things on their menu!

Went there two days in a row for breakfast as it was located a few steps away from my hotel. Cute little place, we had excellent service both times we visited, even continuing to offer us water after we had paid. Some places starts ignoring you once you’ve paid, not here. The coffee was great. They have a beautiful La Marzocco Strada machine, and they know how to use it. The lattes I took were excellent, and the milk properly done. My friend said his espressos were good as well. In terms of food, the first morning I had the chorizo & scrambled egg wrap, which was served with a lightly dressed mesclun salad. It was good but ordinary. The second morning I tried the challah french toast with maple syrup. Home run! It was a great french toast, moist and delicious. I would have gone back for this anytime. Bonus points for serving it with fresh fruits. If I was staying in the area again, I would definitely go back.

What a nice spot. The coffee here was excellent. It had such great flavor and subtle undertones. Small selection of baked goods. Try the chocolate ball was fresh and delicious. Service was warm and friendly. Definitely want to try this spot for breakfast.

Definitely a good coffee place either for a small cup of coffee or simply for a small bite. My friend and I had come here for some short discussion so we only ordered the grilled salmon. It turned out to be salmon plus a selection of vegetables! The salmon was cooked medium rare with light pink color inside, liked it a lot. Our waiter was extremely friendly and explained us the menu with great details. Do ask for wifi as it was free here, and the speed was not bad at all. Would for sure revisit, and actually it turned out to be a revisit!

When it comes to aesthetics this place is a home run, but when you take the food and service into account it’s nothing special at all. I popped in around 9:30 in the morning and the place was pretty empty. There were a few tourists spread around, but definitely no local New Yorker’s. That should’ve been a sign. The waitresses paid barely any attention to me, firstly not bringing me a glass of water(which everyone else in the establishment had received) as well as refusing to give me the wifi password. I only got it after I overheard them mutter it to a young French tween a table over. I was a bit underdressed(I’d had a long night), so maybe I didn’t look like a customer to give good service to? I went with a pretty basic order, a chai latte($ 5) and ricotta pancakes($ 15). The chai came out to me in a very short period of time, and although it looked beautiful, taste-wise it was pretty lacking. I was missing the chai taste. It was smooth, but mostly because it was more milk than anything else. As for the ricotta pancakes, they were bland at best. I didn’t taste much lemon and even the entire dish of syrup wasn’t enough to add flavor to them. And dare I say they were a bit undercooked? I definitely tasted some raw batter in some of my bites. They filled me up, but they definitely weren’t satisfying. Considering the spot is unbelievably overpriced and mediocre I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The food and establishment look nice but that’s really about it. I would’ve been happier picking up a chai latte from Kahve and making pancakes at home.

Walked by Kava Café quite a few times on trips to my neighborhood CVS and always wanted to give it a try. We brunched there this morning and I’m happy to know my cravings weren’t unfounded. It’s a cute little restaurant that has a café section if you don’t want to sit down, but there’s also pleasant outdoor seating and quite a spacious interior. I enjoyed the iced coffee and my lox bagel, and my boyfriend liked his lemon ricotta pancakes. Solid spot in the neighborhood for sure!

In search of a nice café near Port Authority, I came across Kava on Unilocal.I’m a sucker for anything with avocado, so the avocado frittata brioche lured me right in along with seeing that they have Almond milk as an option for my Latte. Both choices were absolutely delicious! The Avocado Frittata Brioche was everything. The goat cheese inside gave it a unique flavor that made it all come together. My almond milk latte came in a nice red cup with a little foamy heart on top. Sprinkled in some raw sugar and sipped on it with my food. I sat out in the patio and did not step inside because I had my luggage with me, felt like a hassle. The outdoor area was great to enjoy a view of the busy city. Although I must say there was a dog stench. Well the whole city has some interesting smells, mostly really foul. Service felt semi slow since I was in the patio, but I was able to relax a little and just enjoy it all solo before I left the city. I will definitely come back next time I’m here!
