By pure miracle I ended up here on their very last day of business(apparently their online business will continue). It’s small but cosy and they have a few tables at the front if you want to relax and gossip over your food. A variety of teas/coffees and their envious selection of biscotti(so fresh and light and just simply all kinds of yummy that melts in your mouth like a little ball of heaven) makes this a solid choice. The biscotti are made fresh daily from what I overheard and they have many unique flavours. The owners are nice and really seem to know a lot of their customers as they try and talk to everyone. Too bad it’s closed down now but at least I got a chance to check it out!

Just want to leave a message to say that I’ll be missing the café dearly. The best biscotti I’ve ever had, no contest. I am not much of a picky eater or food expert in any way but ever since i tried their biscotti regular coffee shop biscotti won’t do it anymore. I buy a pound of these and pack a piece with me in my backpack everyday to the starbucks close to my school(sorry starbucks!) and have it with my cup of cold brew. I so wish I had been there more — only discovered the spot recently. Owner and the front girl with hairband all seem to be very lovely people. Now I could only order the stuff online, which is a lot more expensive(15 – 20 a pound plus $ 10+ shipping). :’((((((((((((((

I favor illy coffee over Starbucks any day. Unfortunately this place is a little out the way of my normal routes or I would come here more often. All coffee is always delicious! They also have a good selection of teas, cookies, muffins and more which are mostly gluten free and delicious.

I am giving this place 5 stars based on the hospitality of the owners! If you want to get away from the typical nonchalant«in and out» NYC café, you need to search this place out. The woman who served us was apparently one of the owners. I was clueless about ordering bakery items and menu items and she was so gentle in suggesting that I wait until she serves the soups to everyone, including my party of three, before I order my biscotti. She could have easily told me that I should just wait because she was too busy. Instead she explained that it would be best if I ordered my biscotti after she served everyone because her husband was out at the time and she was the only one in the café. After she served everyone she was extremely polite, as if she wanted to make sure that she didn’t ruffle my feathers in any way. There were sooooo many different flavors of biscotti and I was a «chameleon on plaid». I didn’t know where to start. She was very helpful, suggesting that I should limit myself, write down the flavors that interested me, and decide, after eating these, what I really wanted. Sure enough, when I got back to my hotel, I was able to remember what I was eating and which ones I loved. Before we left NYC, I went back to order what I wanted(with a little more«New Yorker» focus) to share back home. Listen to the owner if you aren’t sure about where to start. She knows what she is talking about. I also appreciated the extra«Aloha» that she shared with us! Their passion and caring are reflected in their baking. My favorites were the lavender, apricot and almond, and rosemary fig. By the way, their soups from what we tasted(Italian wedding soup and carrot ginger soup), are excellent, too. We ordered ours hot. Of course, they were served with delicious buns on an eclectic array of plates and bowls. It was a great NYC experience!

Crappy coffee and a decent biscotti, Went here today to grab a coffee and biscotti to-go. Upon leaving I decided to grab a seat and stay a bit longer. As soon as I took a seat a patron came over and told me seating was only for stay in customers. I was baffled as the café was completely void of customers. It was an awkward experience for a weird policy. Won’t be back.

Nice little café, it smells incredibly delicious as soon as you walk in. Had one of the tastiest double-shot cappuccinos ive ever had, and for the biscotti I tried the coconut-oatmeal-chocolate chip which was really good and reminded me of «Dunkers» cookies that you get at Trader Joes, one of the most addictive cookies! The insane variety of biscotti will keep you coming back to this cozy little spot.

Cute coffee and dessert spot with the mom-and-pop feel without the pretentious prices. I got a iced coffee with Irish cream and it was pretty solid on a warm day. The European yogurt with fruit was nice and thick and the fruit — strawberries, pineapple, blueberries, and honeydew, was fresh. Would come back to try their biscottis.

I feel the same way as Steve. I fell like they look right through me when I am waiting in line. Just last week I waited patiently for 5 minutes and they served someone behind me who was a regular. I will become a regular somewhere else.

This place used to have a family style and loved coming here with my wife. However, it now feels as if they are doing me a favor when I wait online for a coffee. Do yourself a favor go to 9th Avenue/Kafke.

This is probably a bias review since i did not order a biscotti, which is their specialty, and I did not order one. I’m not exactly a fan of biscottis, so I didn’t order one, but I did order a muffin and a pumpkin latte. The latte was average and muffin was a size of a mini cupcake. It was not what I was expecting and didn’t taste the greatest either. The décor is really cute and the concept of an actual coffee shop. So, you come here to read, talk to a friend, drink coffee/tea without the distraction of cellphones, computers, electronics, etc. Also, you can only sit if you’re staying in and be served. The service was nice and she checked up on us every few minutes when she had to tend to other customers. This just wasn’t my cup of tea.

The biscotti is mad addictive. I don’t even like biscotti really because I always thought they were old over-baked cookies. Here, they’re like gourmet crackers. It’s a little funny to have table seating for biscotti and coffee though. I just order it to go and eat at the bench outside. Yeah I’m cheap — and I don’t like waiting.

Much better experience the 2nd visit. Hot chocolate was quite good. Didn’t have food but it sounds unique and yummy. Hope that the upswing in customer service will continue.

Cute enough. Came here for breakfast and ordered a tea and steel-cut oats. The tea was a Twinings bag, and the oatmeal was served in the color plastic dishes that my brother uses to feed his 2-year old daughter. It’s OK. I’m an adult. You can trust me with real silverware and plates. To their credit, they had some pretty fancy oatmeal flavors(I had spiced apple cherry), although the oatmeal had congealed to a lukewarm, lumpy heap by the time it reached the table. Perhaps my mistake was straying from the menu items advertised in the name of the restaurant – biscotti and lattes. But hey, if they can get that stuff right, then oatmeal and tea should be a cinch, right?

I was berated by the owner for not«ordering enough». I paid with cash, ordered some tea, and drank it out of the appropriate glass mugs at the table. Wasn’t even halfway done when the owner marched over and asked if I wanted food. I said no thank you, and returned to drinking my tea from the nice teapot set, and reading my book. I was the ONLY customer in the store. The owner proceeded to yell at me about not ordering her food,(I just wasnt hungry, cant I just enjoy the tea?! Im following all the rules here!). I would have been open to coming back, but she continued to yell and complain to me that I was so miserable I hated the place. After I told her I was fine with just tea, she then asked me to leave, and I hadnt even gotten a chance to finish the tea in peace. Really awful business owners who need to be friendlier to customers who are following their rules. Not sure what her problem is but, again, gave it another shot, and confirmed, DONTGOHERE!

My local café. Coffee, tea, biscuits, and everything nice in a cozy little nook of a location. Small menu — but a huge selection of biscotti with some ridiculous flavors. Very good when paired with a latte, but dry by themselves. The frittatas resemble something that is prepackaged and heated up, but actually has a good flavor. I personally like getting a flavored coffee(tiramisu or irish cream) and a roll. Though I feel like the prices are a tad high for the size of the food. Either way, it’s a pleasant area to enjoy a drink without any of the bustle like a Starbucks.

I really like their coffee(and the fact that they have almond milk and grain-free frittatas… which don’t really look like frittatas but are good!) and their biscotti are delicious. It’s a small cozy coffee shop but because of this, if a large party is coming in, they’ll have you move to another table in the middle of your visit. It’s not really a big deal, just a slight inconvenience. Also, they don’t allow you to talk on cell phones or play videos on them. They seem to have a lot of rules. Otherwise, the staff is really friendly and my friends and I always have a good time when we go there. Will definitely be back :)

Employee was pushy. Biscotti was hard and stale and overpriced. There’s no reason to return with Sullivan Street and Je & Jo right around the corner.

I work in the area and this is without a doubt one of my favorite lunch spots around. It’s actually one of my favorite lunch spots, period. The lunch menu is pretty simple: soups, risottos and chili. All homemade and incredibly delicious! The soups, however, are my favorite. The rustic potato, the ribollita, the tuscan farro… They’re all SODANGGOOD. And of course, tons of biscotti to satisfy your sweet tooth :) PS: Soups and biscotti come with vegan, dairy free, and gluten free options.

WOW — Tons of biscotti — assorted flavors to choose from beating any other city bakeries or boxed goods from the supermarket, with unique flavors and holiday themed on occasion. Big bowl of cappucino? Hell yeah! Definitely coming here more often for lunch — a nutritious selection of excellent, flavorful soups and risottos. OMG — French Lentil Chestnut soup — so delicious!!! Scones are addictive, macaroons are loaded with coconut and really large, these ain’t your old Granny’s little 2″ flat macaroons! After enjoying a great lunch, I had to buy a couple of dozens of biscotti to go. Awesome, awesome, awesome, for real! Big selection of magazines & cool books on the shelves for those wanting to relax and enjoy some relaxing downtime in a chill setting. Cool music too, none of that adult a/c muzak! What’s not to appreciate and love, especially in the cold, crazy city? Been there for iced coffee in the summer also — awesome! Service was attentive and warm. Love the«rules» — how many times do you walk in a coffee shop & there’s nowhere to sit since people are camping out with all their crap stretched out? Especially on a wintry or rainy day? You Go Bis.Co!!! ;) By the way, it was pretty busy with only 2 or 3 seats available the afternoon I was there recently — definitely a happening neighborhood spot. To all the negative wieners obviously drinking gallons of Hater-ade before they walked into the café with their bad attitudes & «cool electronics» — Boo-hoo…go to Starbucks, I mean, Char-bucks: you deserve each other, you wouldn’t know a great cup of coffee or have any familiarity with the illy brand if it bit you in the hiney! Go to the doctor & get your tastebuds checked while you’re at it too. Hail Bis.Co.Latte!!!
