SO happy I wandered in here!!!
The windows full of unique looking pieces are just the thing that would draw me in, and boy am I happy they did. I even made my husband and two friends wait outside while I browsed (the shop is admittedly small).
Plates, plates everywhere! Round plates, square plates, flat plates, pear plates (not shaped, the image that is, just had to make it rhyme!).
The artists sources her images from antique shops, road shows, flea markets, etc. She copied the image and then replicates it underneath hand-​worked découpage on gifty things such as — you guessed it — plates, paperweights, etc.
There is probably something for everyone here — from buildings/​architecture, to maps/​landscapes, to nature/food…and more!
The pieces are not cheap, but make excellent gifts! Got one for mom for Mother’s Day, and another for myself (image attached).
Go ahead and splurge — I’m sure you (or a special someone) is worth it! This is a piece I’ll have forever (hopefully) and could see it being passed down lovingly to my kids.

Tip: You can’t get these wet or the backing will come off and it will ruin the piece. Something to think about as you figure in utility to the beauty of these pieces.

A charming shop in the west village that offers a broad selection of unique «oldworld» collectible dishes and plates. Great gift for someone who appreciates everything beautiful.

Stunning work, brilliant for gifts, expensive and worth it

I discovered this store by moving into the building across the street. Truly unique, a west village gem. The artist uses vintage cards and fabrics for the découpage plates and glassware. When you’re looking for that special gift that comes from special artist in the west village, this is it.
I’ve both received and bestowed gifts: vintage map of neighborhood, fruit, christmas pigs. Each one is beloved!
Might be pricey, but worth it… and not as much as John Derian, and more whimsical.
PS — the artist is super nice and often in the store. very personal!

The store sells «homemade découpage” – beautiful images under glass on plates, paperweights, etc. My friend’s favorite plate was an old style image of a melon (think farmers almanac illustration) with the text «i cant elope with you!» There are lots of plates with skull, insects, plants, etc. The smallest plates start at $ 65.
