I’ve been to every great steakhouse in NYC and many others outside the city and this is probably the best seasoned Filet I’ve ever had. I’ll definitely be back!

Excellent! We wouldn’t change a thing. My husband and I ate here on a Saturday night before the theater. An easy walk from Times Square. The house margaritas were terrific, ceviche appetizer was perfect and the tomahawk steak(a special for 2) was the best steak we have ever eaten. It was served on an iron skillet with rosemary butter. The mashed sweet potato and Brussel sprout sides were terrific as was the crème brûlée for dessert. Service was exceptional.

This place is AMAZING! Old school elegant service from the wonderful well dressed wait staff and world class show stopping dishes that are deliciously paired with the drink menu. Our mixologist, Luis, created cocktails that were so perfect with our meal– piscos and margaritas. This place is a must for anyone visiting NYC– it is perfectly located right in the heart of the Theatre District! — get the steak if you can! It reminded me of the Brontosaurus steaks in the Flintstones— INSANELYHUGE and perfectly cooked!

I have no idea what the negative reviews are experiencing but IMO this is an exceptional restaurant. A party or four — out with our drinking buddy friends. Alba our server was WAY more than attentive with us – and we were a bit high maintenance! The pisco sours from checking in with Unilocal were awesome! Alba and her team made it easy to get out free drink — no issues. But, let’s move onto the food… Some reviews here said the meat wasn’t seasoned well. I have no idea what they are talking about. I eat more steak than I should and the meat was EXCEPTIONAL(I use the word when needed)! My friend who eats out a lot loves it too… I unequivocally recommend this restaurant. Our experience on this night was AWESOME!

Very unhappy with the steak. The inside of the steak very cold. They could have at least used a thermometer to check the temperature!

We were visiting NYC and wanted to find a well-priced local favorite near Gershwin Theatre for Wicked. K Rico delivered! Well cooked and flavorful steaks, excellent drinks(had the Avenue). Took away a star because the prices were kind of overpriced for the quality of meat. My steak(chimichurri skirt steak) was kind of fatty and my fiancé’s bone in steak wasn’t very well flavored. I have had better steak at lower prices. But overall great experience and I would recommend it. Excellent service and very very kind staff!

Rude bartender and a poorly stocked bar. Nothing but the very basics are available. They let us in and gave us food menus at around 3 or so… But they didn’t tell us till later that we couldn’t order any food till 4. Why give me a menu? Update: It’s possible my timing is wrong. I double checked the location. This is the right place. I called and asked there manager to cal me. He never returned my call.

John, the owner and main chef, made us feel like customers rather than just a number. He personally came to us to show his recommendations(raw steak) as well as checking with us afterwards. Some people are spoiled with this etiquette but I was impressed. The NY strip was the best steak I’ve had compared to other global steakhouse chains.

As meat loving carnivores, it was with great pleasure that my girlfriend and I dined at the K*RICO South American Steakhouse in Hell’s Kitchen. The brainchild of veteran restaurateur and chef John Greco, partnered with his brother Tommy Greco, owner of the popular Ritz Bar and Lounge, K*Rico is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. We started with slow roasted pork belly crostinis, followed by roasted oysters which were the damn best mollusks I’ve ever tasted. Next came some delicious empanadas and arepas, chased by my personal favorite, the FuFu de Chorizos, flavorful Colombian sausages with just the right amount of spice surrounded by mashed plantains, definitely a must eat at this place. After a short breather and some heavenly Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon, we loosened our belts for the main course, which consisted of samples of an Entraña Argentinian skirt steak, prime Filet Mignon, and their signature On-The-Bone Sirloin. But that’s not all. Accompanied by sautéed yuca with garlic cilantro, brussels sprouts with bacon, and Chaufa de Quinoa with figs, it was a meal fit for a King. A King, or, rather, a Cowboy, as guess who was sitting a few tables away from us? The one and only Randy Jones, the Cowboy from the Village People! John and Tommy we’re exceptional hosts, and the wait staff was pleasant and attentive. We’ll definitely be going back to their great new Steakhouse. Now, where is that Village People record I have…

Absolutely LOVE this place! When ones in New York, one must try K Rico. Period. After weeks of planning my New York’s itinerary, you know I had to incorporate some of New York’s best eats in my plan. Of course like all other tourists who come to New York, they feel they just have to try Peter Luger, but I was on a search to find something better. I stumbled upon this place on Unilocal and just by looking at the pictures I can literally smell the delicious-ness smoke from the steaks. So a reservation I made. Came on a Wednesday night for reservations at 9:00PM. Host, who was also the brother of the owner/chef checked our coats in and took us to a perfect corner seat in the back. We heard our neighbor diners whispering something to eachother, then we were told by the host that the table we were sitting at was originally reserved for another couple who had a proposal planned, but they never came. Our neighbor diners said they thought we were the reservation with the proposal planned haha! We already knew what we wanted to order because we looked through the online menu before, but then our waiter came by and recommended the 50 something ounce tomahawk and we were sold! We also ordered cauliflower mash potatoes as our side. Also, if you check in on Unilocal you a free sour drink. The tomahawk was HUGE! Your waiter will bring the steak out first for you to take photos, snapchat whatever your social media desire needs are and then he will bring it back to have it cut in slices for you. I mean honestly the reason it is 50 something ounces is because of the huge bone it comes with, but nonetheless it was delicioussssss! I’m VERY picky with my steaks because I need my steaks to be very well seasoned and K rico delivered just that. It was so moist and tender. I ordered it rare by the way. Cauliflower mash was delicious as well. It didn’t have chunks of cauliflower like some other places I’ve tried. Loves it. Towards the end the chef came up and asked how our food was. We then learned he is also the owner and the host is his brother as I’ve mentioned above. We told him we came from California and knew we just had to try this place. He was so shocked and humbly thanked us for trying his place even though he knows he can’t compete with the top steakhouses in New York. Honestly, this place CAN. Everything from the service to the food was spectacular. Everyone is in such a happy mood none of that New York rudeness at all. Will definitely be back again!

So Babes and Missy are in New York for the weekend and asked me to find them a Unilocal approved after theater restaurant. So I locate this 4.5 star place, read a couple of good reviews, and pick this one. They were looking for a red meat menu and this filled the bill. I made a reservation. They showed up for 6pm dinner to an empty restaurant. They were seated at an undesirable table and asked to me moved to a warmer spot. They were declined. ALL the other tables were pre reserved. Two hours later I get their dining review. SERVICE: 2 FOOD: 2.5 DOGGIEBAG: 5 So if you are New York from Chicago and looking for a pre or post theater restaurant, keep looking, don’t stop here. Sorry Babes and Missy. PS: It is $$$$ expensive, even by NYC standards.

My husband surprised me at the last minute to go out & have steak, we usually go to Old Homestead, but wanted to try something new, he also liked that this place has a Hispanic touch to it, and isn’t your traditional steak house restaurant. We made reservations via open table, which there were plenty of times available, especially on a Sunday night, we drove there, and was both very surprised by the amount of parking on the side street, had to actually read the signs a couple of times to make sure we will come out, and the car will still be there. The restaurant itself isn’t that big, there were about five tables filled, slow music playing on the speakers, and the lights were dim, we were immediately seated in the back, which I was happy about(far away from everyone else) When checking into Unilocal you get a free sour drink(there signature drink) which we received right away. We also ordered white sangria, they don’t have pitchers like other places only by the glass, I also noticed that it was made to order, other places usually have the sangria pre made, it had a weird taste at first, but after a couple of sips, we realized it was good, even ordered two more glasses when the entrée came. They also bring out spicy fried crispy pasta, yeah I know sounds weird, but it was cool. For appetizers we ordered, the cheese dish, basically melted cheese, with a little bit of chorizo, I’ve had this before at other places, and enjoyed it better there than here. But it wasn’t horrible. Seafood fried dish, which same with shrimp, calamari, fish, and scallops, I’m not a fan of scallops so they added more calamari. It says it comes with a garlic aioli sauce which they put on the bottom, there wasn’t enjoy so make sure you ask for more on the side. My favorite out of the appetizers were a platano and chorizo dish, it was mashed platano which had a hint of cinnamon in it, with fried sliced chorizo, it was delicious! Now on to entrée, I had the charassco, since this is a Latin steakhouse I figured they can mess that up, and they didn’t, it was delicious! My husband ordered the New York strip steak, which it was good, it wasn’t steak house quality good. For sides we ordered the manduros which were good, something you can’t really mess up, the sweet potato mash, also good, and the yuca fries. Dessert– which i don’t know how we even had room for it, we shared the espresso flan, which basically tasted like espresso, weird, interesting, but it was tasty. Service was good, I don’t know the name of our waiter but he was a heavyset Hispanic man, mustache, very nice, funny, personable, and recommend a lot of the items we ate. Overall it was good, we had a great time, and lots of laughs. Can’t say I will have to go back, can’t say that I will think about the food and say I must go, but hey at least we tried it.

My wife and I flew in to NYC from Seattle for the holidays. Since out friends were already here for a family wedding, what better opportunity to enjoy time with them and the restaurants of the Big Apple? Since my son currently lives in the city, it was dinner for five. Here’s what we ordered: Four cocktails — Pisco Sour Clsico — Pisco Sour Clsico — The Bleeding Orange — Acai Caipirinha A bottle of Kaiken Malbec Guacamole Trio Shrimp Cocktail Ceviche Mixto Watermelon Salad(daily special) 64 oz Long Bone Tomahawk Steak — AMAZING! 16 oz New York Strip Sirloin 64 oz Long Bone Tomahawk Steak Chaufa de Quinoa w/figs Broccoli & Cauliflower sauté w/garlic, chili Brussel Sprouts with Bacon Cauliflower Potato Mash Tres Leches Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Cake Coffee I can honestly say this meal may have been the best dinner that we have ever eaten in NYC! And, we have been here many many times. The steaks were cooked perfectly, and had amazing flavor. Every side dish and appetizer was rich and flavorful. We had absolutist no issues with any of the food items. The service was also excellent. From the excellent waitress, and attentive staff to John, the owner, everyone was exceptionally helpful, friendly, and focused on our every need. No, it was not a cheap meal. But, we did not come looking for that. We sought a great meal at a fair price, and that’s what we got. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience in a friendly atmosphere. We will return!

K*Rico overall score: 92 This is a relatively recent addition to the smaller scale steakhouse scene. The cuisine here is Latin American/South American style, but with a focus on steak, being a steakhouse and all. This time we had three people dining, so we were able to sample a bit more than usual. Here’s the breakdown: Flavor: 9 We had this massive 40oz tomahawk rib eye that was dry aged for 70 days. This is on special right now for $ 95, so if you like what you see, go get it while supplies last! They bring it out to the table while it’s still sizzling hot. Then they take it back and let it rest before slicing and plating. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful. I held back from full points only because I think it needed a little bit more seasoning. Both the cap and the eye were delicious and cooked perfectly to medium rare. Here’s a shot of the remaining hunk of bone: We also did a mixed grill item(parrillada mixta) for $ 59, which came with skirt steak, languica(sausage), sirloin, pork belly, pork tenderloin, chicken and blood sausage. For non-discriminating meat lovers, this is totally the way to go. That green sauce is a cilantro based spread that specifically goes well with the pork and chicken. Choice of Cuts & Quality Available: 10 This place regularly offers skirt, two strips(48oz bone in, and a 16oz), rib eye(22oz), two filets(8oz and 14oz), porterhouse for two, and a mixed grill for two. In addition, they also offer daily specials from the meat department. That’s a full blown 10. Plus all steaks are prime and grilled on an authentic plancha. Portion Size & Plating: 10 Portions are large for the price. As you can see above, presentation is very nice as well. They’ve elevated the traditional steakhouse minimalist plating concept to something that pops. Price: 10 Prices are really fair here, though slightly different in the restaurant than they are online(not by much). Most porterhouses for two are coming in at around $ 100 now, but here it is listed at $ 79. Also the massive 48oz sirloin steak for two is under $ 50, and the 22oz rib eye is listed at just $ 42. These are great deals if you’re on a budget but still want some good quality meat. Bar: 9 This bar is massive. It stretches almost the full length of the restaurant from front to back. While you do not have window seating, there is ample room and a beautiful décor to take in. Just take a look at that skull and horns center piece! There’s a great selection of Argentinian wines and some really nice cocktails as well. Specials and Other Meats: 9 There’s a 20oz double cut pork chop, Peruvian roasted chicken, and a mixed grill for two that comes with a host of tasty shit. As mentioned above, we ordered the special tomahawk chop that was offered. Amazing meat-centric place! Just missing lamb and veal. Apps, Sides & Desserts: 8 We started with some empanadas, which were filled with prime beef, raisins, cilantro and aji amarillo aioli. These were perfectly crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. Not too hot where you burn your mouth, and the flavors were really well balanced when eating with some of the pickled red onion. On the side we had the cauliflower mashed potatoes, which were creamy and flavorful. You’d never know you were eating a healthier version of the standard mashed potato dish. We also tried the sauteed yucca. These were a little dry and under-seasoned, but the crunchy texture was great. The brussels with bacon were perfect. Great char, good flavor. This is the ideal side for a meat eating extravaganza, because it comes with additional meat in the form of thick bacon. We actually didn’t order this: it was complimentary — nice surprise! Since we were busting-at-the-seams full, we all shared a dessert. Espresso flan. This had a nice even and smooth texture, with a very nice, not-too-sweet coffee flavor. Seafood Selection: 8 There’s cod, corvina and seabass in entrée form, in addition to the apps of ceviche, grilled octo, calamari, mussels, shrimp and oysters. Really great showing! When I come back for the giant bone-in sirloin, I will be definitely giving the ceviche and octopus a try. Until then, I have to score this with a placeholder of eight. I’m sure it will be a higher score once I sink my teeth in to actually try the seafood. Service: 10 Owner Tommy and waitress Maria were both fantastic. In fact all of the staff was warm and helpful. Maria offered great menu suggestions, and really knew her shit. It was interesting to learn from Tommy that his brother is the chef, and that they also own 123 Burger Shot Beer, just nearby, as well as a spot downtown. Ambiance: 9 They’ve really made the best out of this typically narrow, storefront/brownstone location on 9th Avenue. They’ve done such a great job that this place easily contends with some of the gigantic, fancy steakhouses in midtown. The décor here is really classy and elegant. REVIEWCUTFORLENGTH

Based upon other reviews I was looking forward to dining here and I really really wanted to love it. My mom and I went for lunch before seeing a show on Broadway so it wasn’t very busy. The service was great, but the food is what let us down. To start with the good, our server(I believe his name was Alejandro) was very charming and friendly. He seemed to be doing everything from hosting, to serving, and even bartending. He said he had only started a week earlier so we were impressed by all of his hard work and his ability to balance multiple roles. The food is ultimately what was disappointing. We started with the roasted oysters which were the best part. I ordered the skirt steak for my main meal. I felt as though it should have had a lot more flavor than it did based upon price and other reviews. The chimichurri sauce it said it came with was almost non-existent. My mom got the fish tacos and they were pretty boring and the meat was flavorless. I know this place is still relatively new so they could be working some of the kinks out. While I was disappointed I’d be willing to try out their dinner menu once they’ve been established a little longer.

I was recently there for brunch and again for dinner This place is a fabulous local gem. Let’s start with brunch. Our server, Alba was very warm friendly and was very knowledgable with the brunch menu, it was unlimited mimosas and she always walked around to make sure our glasses were filled. It was a great deal for 29.95 a person that included an entrée. We had eggs Benedict and instead of an English muffin the eggs were placed on a pancake everything was cooked to perfection and we decided to come back for dinner The dining area gets filled up fast for dinner so I recommend making reservations. For dinner we sat at the bar and Michael was our server he is the most knowledgable mixologist I have seen in Hell’s Kitchen, we started with the empanadas which were flavor filled and delicious. For our main course we had the sirloin burger and I wish I could describe how good this tasted it was cooked to perfection was juicy and came with a side of seasoned steak fries. The prices are pretty standard for the neighborhood but the service, staff, and manager Jesus were all incredible. I still can’t stop thinking about that sirloin burger

I came here for dinner on a Friday night. What can I say, I wasn’t impressed. A friend had the pozole which looked OK, she complained about the lack of spices. I had the ceviche and that was good. As well as the salmon-corvina which was uneventful(as well as odd, fish on top of fish) I didn’t order the steak because I wasn’t feeling like having a glass of wine, but I think I regret the decision Not coming back

This was without doubt the best lomo I have eaten outside of Argentina. I ordered the 14oz which was really really big. And I ate every bite because I couldn’t let myself leave anything on the plate. I ordered the sweet potato mash on the side which was equally delicious and creamy. It was quite pricey($ 130 for two steaks two sides and 2 beers) but I would definitely eat here again as a treat.

My wife visited this restaurant and spoke highly of the food and the service so I decided to give it a go. I must say I have not been to many South American steakhouses so naturally I was skeptical. To my surprise this Restsurant has a lot to offer. Not only does it give 3 options to dine in ala outdoor(street corner) indoor with AC and then a backyard still outdoor but with a classic veranda vibe with stars and sky view after sunset. We dined at the backyard this time. Our waiter was great, very attentive but I would like to see the waiters give their names though. I stared with the Colombian sweet corn pancake from the appetizer menu and thumbs up to that dish. Of course as a Chilean sea bass lover I gravitated toward that dish. It was broiled as expected and memorable. This sea bass does a good job of exciting your palate by itself so it prudent to keep the fish the star of the dish always and that you did Chef!!! Kudos! My friend Steve had one of the steak dishes and as a steak lover he was impressed at the quality of the meat and the spices. Side dishes could have been better but the appetizer menu totally makes up for the weak side dishes. Plus I got to chat with the owner Tommy. Pleasant guy! Owns a few choice spots in the city so you can feel the vibe of this restauranteur who knows how to please customers. Thanks again Tommy. Keep up the good work!

Note: This review is based soley on my first impression and décor and will be updated once I dine. One of the partners, Chris, introduced himself upon my walking into the restaurant to vet this new Ninth Avenue venue. The décor is that of varnished wood beams that’s very elegant. They’re one of few restaurants in Hells Kitchen offering alfresco dining in a gardened patio. Chris informed me that K Rico solely serves PRIME cuts which further peaked my interest in their menu. I’m looking forward soon to dining one evening.
