Very good & very cheap. Perfect fried texture and all their pieces taste good. The way the place looks leaves much to be desired but I only care about the quality of the chicken. They have a 10 dollar minimum so bring cash with you.

Very good fried chicken but you gotta eat it there! We took it home but I’m sure I would’ve enjoyed it a lot more if we ate it there while it was piping hot and fresh!

Andy, you rock!!! Can we say exceptional customer service? I called this place at 4am & places an order for 5 people. It was ready within 5 minutes. I arrived to pick it up, asked for Andy(whom i had spoken to on the phone), i got to skip the line & he handed me my order immediately. Andy made 5 girls very happy on Halloween night! By the way, best fried chicken EVER. Hands down.

This place competes with La Nueva Espana with the Rotiserrie Chicken. Wow Juciest Chicken everrrrr. Forget the fries and fried chicken, leave that for the kids. I usually get Chofan rice with rot. chicken and batata. The egg salad looked so good but it tasted like a Vinegar Bottle. Otherwise the fries are usually soggy. The place is small nothing special. No delivery but good to walk to quickly. Usually open late for those leaving clubs late at night.

Hands down the best fried chicken in the city. Thankfully they remodeled in the past year. before it was so run down that I stopped going. Now with those issues under control I am back to being a regular customer and rightly so! The Chicken is amazing! I mean this is where it is all about the fired chicken and fries do not even look at anything else!

Best fried chicken I’ve had since I was 6. The prices are just right, if anything they’re just being generous. I highly recommended this place.

I’ve been coming here for almost 30 years. And I’m not 30 yet, that means I’ve been coming here since I’ve been in my mom’s belly. I love John’s. It’s greasy and delicious. They used to include little buns, but stopped a few years ago. The fries are soggy, but it’s great with the fried chicken. The ladies behind the counter are nice, but mostly speak Spanish. The prices have gone up over the years, but are still reasonable.

Best fried and rotisserie chicken EVER I grew up here literally around the corner. I had a piece of chicken from here in my hand before a bottle. So this is home to me. No matter what you get its food. I sadly no longer live near so this is a rare one for me now. If you can’t speak English point it’s just that simple plus them ladies will understand any language at this point. If you are nice to them they are nice to you but some of them are bitchy. The menu has changed and not a fan of the fact that they don’t offer the little sweet bun like back in the days but all in all the best fried chicken period. No crust like it.

Add this to the list of value /cheap eats. If you have $ 4-$ 10 bucks you can leave on a full stomach. Otherwise it won’t be the worst $ 4-$ 10 bucks you ever spent. The chicken whether rotisserie or fried is average and so is pretty much everything else. However if you are looking for a cheap meal with a wide selection of carbo-sides then you can’t go wrong with John’s Fried Chicken.

After a date with a wonderful dominican woman, I drove uptown to take her home in The Bronx. On the way there, I was hungry and recognized a familiar overpass to go uptown to get food. She replied, «Damn. John’s is right over there.» Being both into fitness, we thought the better of it, but our true fat ass selves were like, «FUCKIT! LET’S DOTHIS!» My, oh my. That is some damn good chicken. It isn’t even all overly greasy like a lot of these ghetto joints. The meat was quality… as quality as it can get, that is!

WHYDOESNOONEHERESPEAKENGLISH??! I’ve eaten at John’s twice and both times could not find one employee that spoke English to take my order. So naturally, my orders weren’t right. And the fried chicken? Come on. All you see plastered on the walls at this place are their awards & rave reviews, but honestly I’ve had better fried chicken at KFC. The pieces here are tiny, greasy & cold. I don’t know who this John person is, but sir, your chicken sucks.

This is absolutely the best Chicken place ever. I go there every time I go out dancing in Washington Heights, I cant help it. I have been going there for 40 years and I am addicted. They also do catering service which I have also used for many years and they are on point. I once needed to pick up my food at 6AM and it was not a problem. I love Maria and everyone there. For those complaining that they don’t speak English, really? You’re in the middle of Little Dominican Republic, the store owner has gone from the mother to the daughter. 99% of the people there are Dominicans. For the remaining 1% there is always Rosetta Stone! Kudos to Johns Fried Chicken!
