Restaurants in this area were packed with people during the lunch hours and I was starving so I went to this place that didn’t look crowded and had a sign said 15.99 lunch special. When I went in I was first worried coz I was only the customer in the entire restaurant. It was empty and the employees had nothing to do other than chatting forever. But they welcomed in and people were very nice and provided a great service. Salad was fresh the pizza looked very traditional to me. A real Italian place. If you are hungry and don’t want to wait in the line this is the hidden secret empty place and you can enjoy nice Italian food.

Ordered clam linguini and pizza during Jonas. Both dishes arrived cold, and the pizza was the wrong pizza(ordered magherita with extra garlic, got plain cheese instead). Called to complain, spoke to a manager who agreed to refund me for half of the pizza. I’ve waited a week, but this never happened.

Reasonable, but not that exciting. Food was ok, service was ok. Nothing terrible to report, nothing that great either

I was visiting NY for work and we were taken to Joe G’s and I must say, it was a good choice. As soon as we were seated we we given water and shortly after a place of bruschetta turned up. A bottle of Chianti was ordered and the good times started. Very nice wine, it was. We had a plate of various appetizers which included fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, fried shrimp and calamari. The calamari was probably the best I’ve had. Lightly battered and not very chewy. The for main course I had a tough choice, there were so many things on the menu that I could have picked, however since it isn’t something I get often, I went with the veal in a wine marsala sauce. Just couldn’t get enough of it, it was really tasty. The staff were really friendly and when an extra person turned up was easily able to pull over another table with no fuss for us. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere, and waitstaff, the food and the company. If you’re looking for Italian in NY, consider Joe G’s as an option.

This place is our go to for Italian when we stay at the Manhattan club. Never been disappointed by their dinners or wine. Nice staff too

First time trying this place for lunch take out and it’s pretty good! I’ve had their pasta w/white clam sauce 2 days in a row and both times were good. The pasta is al dente, has a good amount of sauce, garlic, and little neck clams. The clams are super fresh and it comes with warm bread. I love spaghetti w/clams so I will definitely be returning here. Their prices are reasonable too.

We went to this restaraunt for my birthday. I had linguine with shrimp. My girlfriend had salmon dish! The sauce was awesome and the malbec wine was delicious along with the margaritas with jalapenos and cucumber Was awesome… Service was phenomenal We loved our waiter… Well be back soon I posted this too soon… When we got the bill I noticed the margaritas cost $ 12.00 a piece… the waiter told us it was $ 5.00 for happy hour… we ordered 2 Wouldn’t had ordered two for that price So the waiter tricked us in buying them! The manager said she would have to take that from the waiters pocket… and she did nothing and then abruptly walked Away… ITSSAFETOSAY I WONTBEGOINGBACKTHEREAGAIN… PRETTYEMBARASSINGASTHEYWATCHEDUSWALKOUTANDSAIDNOTHING!

Review for the bar only! Great place to hang out and catch up with friends over drinks. This place was recommended to us from a friend and I’m glad we gave it a try. This place was pretty chill, the bartender(Melissa, i think) was super nice, the drinks were top notch and the ambience is mellow but you could still have a nice date night in the dinner area as well. Overall I’ll definitely be back on my next visit to New York.

This is a very good dinner spot. My husband and I went here on our most recent trip to NYC and we’ll most definitely come back. We both had the cheese ravioli. He had the spicy version, I had non-spicy. Both were absolutely amazing! The wait staff is very attentive without breathing down your neck. We also got desert. He had the tiramisu and I had the cheese cake. He loved his, but i felt the cheese cake was a little dry. We both were a little hungry after our meal. I blamed it on the fact that we didn’t get an appetizer. The ravioli dish wasn’t very large. This restaurant didn’t seem very touristy, which made me love it more.

I love this place. I found it by accident while walking down a street. Best find ever. I haven’t been to the restaurant but the bar is top notch. Especially the bar tenders so friendly and amazing! Shout out to Melissa she just made the whole experience worth while. It’s a very low key place so a great place to hang with friends without having to shout over annoying crowds. I love this place.

Mamma Mia! This place was a little taste of Italy. Yummy food, quaint atmosphere, and delicious coffee and desserts. I had the lobster ravioli and Caesar salad with blackened shrimp. The caramel dessert was suburb and I definitely was impressed by their service and accommodating attitude. They fit in our group of 16 for a special occasion and were so gracious! The food took awhile but it was worth it.

I get delivery from here occasionally and the food isn’t bad, but it isn’t great. The real problem I have with this place is the service at the actual establishment. A few of my coworkers decided to give Joe G’s a shot for happy hour after work last night. When we got there, there were 3 women at a table in the bar area and one man at the bar. It was safe to say the bartender looked relieved that she would have something to do. We sat down and began drinking we had also intended to order food and asked for menus. About half an hour later the manager comes to the front of the bar and tells us to settle down because there were«people in the back» eating dinner. Mind you we are professional people in our 30’s and were not acting like crazy kids. While she was out yelling at us, she decided to pass her frustration on to the bartender who she literally screamed at while she was making a drink, berating her each step. I began to feel disgusted and asked to speak to the owner, who coincidentally, was one of the members of a party of about 5 sitting in the back eating dinner. I guess it was him who we were«disrupting». I spoke to him kindly and let him know that we were paying customers, who were spending plenty of money at the bar and we didn’t appreciate being told to calm down as if we were acting like animals. He didn’t really seem to care too much, so I told him we would be taking our business and our dollars somewhere else. It seems to me if you have an empty establishment, you should treat your paying customers, who were being respectful a tad better than you did. We will never be back. Ever.

I wouldn’t come here unless I had to(which I did). It’s in the Columbus Circle area so it’s got convenience on its side. I had eaten a pretty large meal beforehand, so I settled on the $ 10.50 appetizer of mussels. I wasn’t expecting a whole lot, maybe a small bowl, but it was literally just 10 mussels served on a plate in marinara sauce. I’ve gotten at least double the portion elsewhere for about the same price. At Joe G’s, this was not the case. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and my friends offered my a bite of their fettucine alfredo and penne a la vodka. It was mediocre to the fullest. At about 17 – 19 a plate, I expected much more. I’m not the greatest cook but I could’ve made both dishes much better. I don’t mind paying if it tastes good, but it really didn’t. It was just very bland and made me want to go straight home and whip something up. The saving grace is the bread they give in the beginning(fresh and warm) and the very good service. Food-wise, you really don’t need to come here.

Have to say I was extremely impressed. 1. food was very tasty, was a big fan of their sauce and the portions(at least for lunch when I went) were very filling. Calimari, chicken parm, pizza, and veal all passed with flying colors. 2. the price; we turned down 56th becasue we saw a sign for another italian place right next store; we passed on that when the chicken parm was $ 42. Joe G’s was right next door and the lunch menu had my chicken parm for about $ 13. 3. the gentelmen working were very pleasant and very attentative; water glass never got below half. will definitely be back next time I’m in the area.

My friends and I came here last week after a long day working at the New York Comic Con. Upon walking in we noticed that the restaurant was pretty empty, we came pretty late so i assume the main dinner crowd was already gone and partying by then. I ordered the prix fixe menu which came with an appetizer, entrée, dessert, and coffee or tea. I order the the fried artichoke hearts, which came with 6 pieces per place. The hearts were topped with a tomato sauce. The portion was a good size and perfert for sharing with my other table mates. For the entrée there was a choice of chicken, stuffed pork chop, or lobster ravioli. I ordered the stuffed pork chop which was lightly breaded and stuffed with mozarella and procuitto and topped with a brown mushroom gravey. The pork chop was cooked perfectly and very moist and tender. For dessert I ordered the tirimisu, the cake was ok but nothing special, I actually like my friends dessert better which was a vanilla/chocolate gelato covered in a hard chocolate shell. Overall it was a great meal for only $ 22 bucks which was a really good value. we also ordered a bottle of the house wine which was a light merlot which was only $ 25 a bottle.

We stopped into Joe G’s because we were looking for a casual, quick, not crazy expensive lunch prior to going to the airport. It was the perfect place! The pizzas and salads were delicious and the prosciutto was sooo tasty! I had the PIZZACAPRICCIOSA — tomato sauce, fresh prosciutto, mushrooms, capers, black olives, fresh mozzarella and fresh basil. It was so tasty(and only $ 12 at lunch!) and I could only eat half of it. I gave the leftovers to a co-worker and she loved it too. I’ll definitely make a point of going back next time I’m in NY.

Pretty good! Pizza and caprese appie were very good! My dinner dish came with veggies instead of pasta, wish I would’ve noticed that b/c I would’ve changed it to pasta. Not a huge fan of cooked carrots. But my Chicken dish was pretty good!
