Really what else can be said about this fantastic place? Not much. You will not go wrong with anything you order here. The service is impeccable. The food outstanding. The prices out of sight. Very nice wine list.

Excellent service and professional We made a mistake reserve the seat for a group of ladies on NY restaurant week. They never join NY restaurant week promotion. Only at Nougatine. The manager came to us and we explained to her that we are not aware of that and apologize for the confusion. She gave an excellent solution that we could order from the Nougatine menu. They even gave us many compliments items. we are so surprised how professional they are. Foods delicious for sure Bravo…

Exquisite resaurant that impresses the most jaded foodies. I have dined at several Michelin starred eateries in my life and this place left me wowed. Impeccable service, exceptional ambience, and amazingly intricate dishes. Jean-Georges Vongerichten is extremely gracious and approachable, and the experience was completely worth the so many nickels and dimes. Every bit the destination as the park across the street.

Overall, excellent lunch today at this Michelin 3 Star restaurant. Lunch menu is reasonably priced. The interior is minimalistic with a nice view of Columbus Circle and Central Park. Many of the dishes had Asian-influence. Highlight dishes: Sesame crab toast, Gulf shrimp, Parmesan risotto w/wild mushrooms, and the Black Sea bass. The desserts were excellent, as well. Each dessert dish contained three different, small desserts to match a particular theme, i.e. citrus, chocolate, caramel, or winter. Many thanks to Brian & Co. for the excellent service. Service was top-notch. Highly recommended. Would like to come back and try their dinner tasting menu. : A

It’s just next to central park so pretty easy to find. The glass doors are so heavy & the reception situated right in front had 4 ladies watching us struggle with the door. And did NOTHING. I guess they figure we r outside of the restaurant so we were bot worthy of their service until we got in. When we got in we were ushered to our table pretty quickly & the degustation menu was delicious. There were some funky dishes but delicious overall. The waiter was attentive. 4 stars if the front desk staff were more helpful. When we were waiting for our coats, I saw it was the same treatment they gave the other women that were trying to get in. Very disappointing.

Came for lunch and sat in the dining room– it’s a little unclear online but you can only do prix fixe or tasting in the dining room. We started with the yellowfin tuna ribbons which did not disappoint– The sauce was so incredible I would recommend it wholeheartedly. We also started with the mushroom risotto which was also very good. For our entrees we got hake and black cod(we dont eat meat). The black cod was worlds better than the hake. It came in a sauce with potatoes, mushrooms and all sorts of veggies. The hake came in spicy green sauce– we both love spicy but did not enjoy this dish nearly as much. For desert we had the chocolate trio– it was really fun to try all the different chocolate deserts but if i could do it again i would have just ordered the chocolate cake because it was way superior to the other two tastes. The meal starts and ends with complimentary pre-appetizers and deserts. These were highlights. The service was outstanding but they were almost overly attentive– multiple people asking if we were finished when we took a break to talk. Overall, we had an excellent meal and I would recommend this place whole heartedly.

Lately, I’ve been, I’ve been losing sleep Dreaming about the things that we could be But baby, I’ve been, I’ve been praying hard, Said, no more counting dollars We’ll be counting stars, yeah we’ll be counting stars Jean-Georges has stars to count alright, three Michelin ones, in fact, but I don’t really get why. Don’t put me on the pillory pleeeeeeeeease. The whole thing was sort of orchestrated to the tee from the moment we stepped into the Trump Hotel. I was forced to confront a series of gold plaques at the restaurant’s entrance, where all the prestigious honors won by this lauded French establishment were prominently displayed in what I have since dubbed the Bragging Rights Gallery. They were basically saying, look, we fancy and we know it. Alas, subtlety was never a JG virtue. We were then greeted by a posse of receptionists at the front desk who were all smiles(because seriously, is this not the easiest job ever?) and immediately whisked away to the main dinning room. The setting was lovely. The bouquet on our table was a nice touch as some of the stems were my favorite colors. However, six courses later, I couldn’t remember anything I ate. Bad sign. Perhaps it was because everything was presented TOO exquisitely. On top of that I had entered with sky-high expectations. The tastes were somewhat anticlimactic and dare I say, ordinary for a dolla dolla dolla dolla sign restaurant. I was looking for the same kind of cooking I had while traveling around the south of France, but each time I was left a little disappointed. All the dishes fell just short of wowing me. Don’t get me wrong, it was still good, but was it OMFG-I-will-sell-my-children-and-my-soul-to-eat-here-every-day good? Can’t say it. My lips don’t lie. Food aside, our main server was clearly new to her game. We had to watch her recite the menu with baited breath. It was painful. Fresh recruit from Harvard Law maybe? Not sure what happened there. I’d take Bouley over Jean-Georges any day, star or no star.

I made reservations about a month+ in advance(highly advised if you want good times) for dinner last Saturday night to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday, and Jean Georges could not have accommodated us any better! They met all of my requests and ended our pleasant meal with a chocolate mousse cake with«Happy Birthday» on it, sided by a lit birthday candle. More importantly, the cake was good! We opted for the 4-course prix fixe and left extremely satiated as a result of an endless train of desserts. We ordered the yellowfin tuna and sea urchin, foie gras dumplings and arctic char, the sea bass and racks of lamb and concluded our meals with desserts from the Citrus and Winter selections. The tuna, sea urchin, foie gras and sea bass dishes were some of our favorites. Meanwhile, the arctic char and racks of lamb were cooked well, but not impressive. I was also disappointed by how much fat I was able to remove from my lamb. I did however, loved the amuse bouche starter, complimentary sorbet sampler and cute little JG baggy that housed 2 pieces of chocolates to take home with us. May I add, the service was impeccable! The restaurant also possessed fine décor, with beautifully dimmed lighting — perfect for a romantic dinner date for two. I had an amazing dinner and will return when my wallet fills back up again!

On our trip to New York we wanted to go to a three star Michelin restaurant. We were undecided between here and Eleven Madison Park. We eventually decided on Jean Georges. It’s situated in the very classy Trump Tower on the south side of Central Park. There are three hosts when you enter, one for your coats, one to check your reservation and one to open the double doors for you. This was the beginning of the impeccable service we received this night. You have three choices for dinner: The $ 140 Prix Fixe that gives you three courses plus dessert, The $ 220 Jean-Georges option, or the $ 220 Winter menu option. The latter two choices are 7 courses. Your entire table needs to choose either the $ 140 option per person, or the $ 220 options per person. You can’t mix $ 140 and $ 220. Guess which option the wife insisted on? Yea. So I went with the Winter option and she did the Jean-Georges option. First up. 6 choices of bread. Honestly, the bread was 6 out of 10. Nothing else to say about it. Second. The butter poached turnip. I’ve never had a turnip in my life, but this is the typical place to try the unknown. The single turnip was so tender to slice into and every bite so moist and full of flavor. Loved it. 9 out of 10. Third. Madai sashimi. This was good. Flavorful and fresh with good texture but not over the top and a tad bit difficult to cut. 8 out of 10. Fourth. Market mushroom salad. I hate mushrooms, yet I have been to 5 star restaurants before where they were prepared well and were tasty. Here however, they were not. This was by far the worst dish during my visit at Jean-Georges. The mushrooms were not full of flavor and some of the larger ones were chewy. There are about 6 types of mushrooms in this salad and it’s just a little much. 3 out of 10. Fifth. Black sea bass. This was a really nice piece of fish. I wasn’t sure whether the skin on it was edible or not though. Either way, it was superbly cooked and seasoned perfectly. 9 out of 10. 6th. Maine lobster. Very tasty lobster and a good amount of it too. The texture and density of the meat here was not out of this world however. 8 out of 10. 7th. Spice crusted venison. The best dish of the meal and great way to end the 7 courses. Perfectly cooked and seasoned and the red cabbage was phenomenal. Overall the service here was 10 out of 10. Extremely knowledgable waitress and the staff in general was very attentive. The food was outstanding, however, not as outstanding as I was hoping. The attention to detail and consistency on the ingredients had room for improvement. Which in contrast reminded me of a place I ate at in Denver, called Fruition. Fruition *perfected* every single ingredient on each dish, and it should be a 3 star Michelin restaurant as well. Jean-Georges is of course a 5 star restaurant, no question. But after a $ 650 bill for two, I wanted to be completely floored, and I wasn’t. My rating of 5 stars still meant there were small flaws. On a bigger scale, it’s a 95 out of 100.

Great food, beautiful restaurant, excellent service. We started with an… Amuse Bouche — Chestnut Soup, Scallop, and I forget what the cabbage-like thing was. The scallop was somewhat pickled and was tart and satisfying. I could have eaten 10 of those scallops. The chestnut was rich and savory. Roasted Sweetbreads, Licorice, Grilled Pear and Lemon — Oh man, sweetbreads are so deliciously fatty and almost sinfully rich. I really don’t understand what part of the dish was licorice. If it was the long stem-like objects, there was no way I or Mr. Joy could bite into those stick-like ornaments. The lemon jelly was sweet and tart, as was the pear, which complimented the sweetbreads very well. I just wish that the pear was cut up or sliced a bit, because that giant piece of pear was a little cumbersome to work with. Foie Gras Brulee, Dried Sour Cherries, Candied Pistachios and White Port Gelee — Is foie gras ever not satisfying? Actually foie gras and sweetbreads were nearly overkill when combined together, but Mr. Joy always orders foie gras if it is on the menu. The pistachios added much needed crunch and texture to the dish. The white port gelee was good and kind of reminds me of animal fat that forms into gelatin when you refrigerate it. Crispy Confit of Suckling Pig, Rutabaga«Pudding» and Smoked Bacon Marmalade — Although I was surprised to see suckling pig shaped into a rectangular solid, it was amazing. Salty, savory meat with a bit of crunch. The bacon marmalade was a little sweet, salty, and wonderful. I was not as big of a fan of the rutabaga pudding. Sauteed Veal Scallopine, Flying Pig Ham, Mushrooms and Lavender — I have not had veal too many times in my life, but I’m convinced this is veal done right. Juicy & tender with wonderful little mushrooms on top. I’m not sure what flying pig ham is, but I’m pretty sure it is like bacon. For dessert, I chose the citrus dessert tasting… Citrus Dessert — Citrus Cheesecake with Orange Powder, Meyer Lemon Confit, & Grapefruit Granite with Tonic Gelee, Vanilla Meringue The cheesecake was delightfully light. I like creamy things with citrus notes. I don’t like candied fruit and the little candied jelly fruit on top was okay, just not my preference. The grapefruit granite with tonic gelee & vanilla meringue was the best part. Sweet & sour, not at all heavy, just a little creamy from the meringue. That was the best part of the dessert. The complimentary chocolate box & candle was a nice touch, but we were already getting too full for more dessert. The petit fours, although appreciated, was way too much dessert for us. Also, the macarons were tough and chewy. The marshmallows are nice. They cut the marshmallow table side when they present it to you. I don’t usually like marshmallows because I find them overly sticky and cloyingly sweet, but these weren’t too sweet or sticky. We had a great meal. The staff was friendly and made us feel welcome.

I went here for a Christmas dinner with my sister and brother in law and it had to be the most perfect place to be during Christmas. We had to make reservations in advance. The service we received was outstanding. They gave us good recommendations on the menu. We ordered the fresh pesto pasta, pork chops, and rigatoni pasta. Every single plate was delicious. The fresh pesto pasta really tasted super fresh! It was great. They gave us complimentary sample of soup and even chocolate at the end. I definitely recommend this place. Decent price for what you get. Lovely environment inside.

My first ever Michelin 3 star experience, and now I’m a believer. We went for brunch, which is more affordable than dinner. The service was great, everyone was very knowledgable and nice. It was a nice upscale environment, but without feeling stuffy or pretentious. We did the tasting menu, which left us very satisfied and happy. Each dish was different, but went so well together. Everything was so good, you might even forget for a second the $$$$ price tag. My two favorites were the sesame crab toast & caramelized beef tenderloin. Get them both!!! Take someone special here, the whole experience is worth it.

The service alone here deserves three Michelin Stars. From the minute we we greeted at the door, I knew I was going to like this place. Everyone was super polite without being stiff and stuffy. Our server was excellent at making recommendations, answering questions, and helping us celebrate my husband’s birthday even if it was a few months late! The dining room is bright, cheery, white and classy. We were seated on one side of a round booth next to each other. It’s great for a date since you can be close, but still face each other and have a conversation. The staff will pull the table out for you so you can get up and sit down. The lunch menu is a steal at $ 58 for two very well-executed courses and you can add additional plates for $ 29. Dessert is an extra $ 12. We weren’t sure on the portion size. Our server said we could be satisfied with two, but if we were really hungry, three was good. It also depends on what you order as some dishes are more filling than others. We saw too many things we wanted to try and went with three. I started with a rum cocktail with thai chili and lime leaves. It actually had some heat to it too which pleasantly surprised me. It wasn’t sweet at all and was well-balanced. The amuse bouche had three tastes instead of one. The highlight was a corn fritter prepared in a similar way to a Thai one with some really fresh corn. My husband had the famous tuna ribbons. He really, really enjoyed it. I had artic char with jalapeño and lime. Like the cocktail it was actually spicy, which was a delight! The gazpacho was super fresh and had a nice combination of textures with the different herbs and tomatoes in it. My husband hates fresh tomatoes and actually said it was good! For the main course I had the signature dish you always hear about, the black bass with sweet and sour jus. The server said I would never find anything quite like it anywhere else. He was right! The skin was perfectly crisp and the sauce was light and tangy. I loved the fresh veggies that were stewing in the sauce such as Japanese mushrooms(appeared to be bunashimeji), tomatoes, and pearl onions. This dish was quite filling, and I was satisfied after getting halfway through it. It also didn’t help that my server thought I said«all» instead of «olive» when she asked what bread I wanted and then proceeded to give me six pieces of bread! It probably was my southern accent. We laughed about it, and then she realized what happened she apologized. We didn’t care though. It just meant we tried more things! Dessert was the only part of the meal that I feel didn’t lived up to the 3 star Michelin experience. It looked beautiful, but the taste fell flat. Usually at French restaurants, the dessert blows you away, but this was not the case. I chose the cherry dessert. The crème brûlée was just okay and only had a hint of cherry. The cake that it came with was beautifully presented, but forgettable. However, the cake that he brought for my husband’s belated birthday was fantastic! Super duper dark chocolate that was simply divine! Maybe I just ordered wrong picking the cherry one? Perhaps I should go with chocolate next time. I would definitely come back to Jean-Georges for lunch. I would also consider going there for dinner. If you want to make someone feel special and have a celebration, this is a good place to go!

It was an amazing dinner. Me and my friend both loved the choices we’ve made on the 5 course meal and everything was so nice looking we ate it all. It was not too much food for me but it was so delicious I couldn’t eat more. We went for the dinner menu and it was really impressive. The setting was nice, we had a booth which gave us a view across the restaurant, although we sat side-by-side which was different but good. Cocktails were excellent as well. The food in general was good but cannot say excellent. The chef combined a lot of aromatic, herbal stuff in the food and a lot of the sauce he used was too much and covered the actual taste of the main dish. But it was excellent for me because if I want to taste a nice fish I don’t need Jean Georges and I go to my seafood restaurant in Turkey. The service was absolutely amazing. The capitain and the waiters let us know about anything and served very well so definitely put us all in a very good mood at the end of dinner, Our experience at Jean George’s was worth it, although the feeling of the table was needed for another round was too commercialized. Anyway we did the right thing and reserved for the last round. I will never forget the salt particule inside the last bite of my desert. Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. Food — 4⁄5 Service — 20⁄5 Price — 4⁄5 Atmosphere — 5⁄5 Best Dish: Everything(but the service… WOW!) Jean Georges is one of the signature restaurants in all of America and it did not disappoint. I wouldn’t consider the food itself to be «ohmagahhhh I have to come back here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the next 10 days», but it was still delicious and I was surprised that we were really full when we left. The restaurant is located inside the Trump Tower, next to Central Park. So, as you can imagine… very classy, very beautiful, and very ritzy. I thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes, and our waiter did a fantastic job explaining all of the menu items and how each one was prepared. The host, the main waiter, as well as all of the other associates made sure our experience was top notch. Nothing was left undone, including a quick vacuuming of the table to make sure there were no crumbs before new food came out. My favorite parts of the meal were actually the starter dishes(including a palette cleansing drink), and the desserts at the end(which is really rare for me). For the main entrees, the boss lady and I got an assortment of different proteins because we wanted to dabble at everything. With that being said, we ordered four different plates from the taste of Autumn selection and my favorites were the seafood dishes. We had reservations for lunch, so I’d imagine the menus to be different. As a whole, it felt like there was an Asian twist to all the flavors, which I wasn’t expecting but it all came together. It was the nicest restaurant I’ve ever dined in and I can see why it has earned 3 Michelin stars! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

For a 3 michelin restaurant I expected more. I dined here 12/23/2015. I did really like our server. She was attentive and sweet. We chose to do two different tasting menus.($ 218) My boyfriend did the classic and I did the seasonal. We did end up sharing each course so I got the chance to compare the two. I personally recommend going with the traditional tasting menu if you plan to dine here. Some of the courses were definitely hit or miss. The presentation was definitely lacking. One of the courses looked like a child put it together. Not impressed… However, the egg caviar was fantastic! My favorite course hands down. Now with what I had an issue with. The hostess forgot to give us a ticket for our coats. When I told them upon exiting, they were insisting they gave it to us although I am positive they did not. Even if they did, I did not appreciate the attitude. They didn’t even bother cracking a smile. I asked them to take a picture for me and they acted like it was such a chore. I don’t understand how a 3 michelin starred restaurant can have such awful hostesses.

Jean-Georges possesses the rare golden trinity of quality, quantity, and pricing. Of course, being a 3-michelin star establishment, it’s still not cheap and you’re not getting heaping portions of food, but it’s all relative, right? I came here with 2 other friends per their glowing recommendations, and we opted for the $ 58 prix fix lunch menu. It comes with two courses, but they give complementary bread, an amuse bouche as well as a sampling of desserts, so you basically end up with 4+ courses. Bread: complementary bread and butter to start the meal. Rather standard, but their olive bread was exceptional(they also offered rye and sourdough). They happily supply several rounds of free bread. 1. Amuse bouche: This came in a trio of small bites(tempura celery root, cream of broccoli soup, and some vegetable-based bite). Great way to start the meal, and perfect portion size. My favorite was unexpectedly the broccoli soup — delightfully creamy and light with a wonderful complexity of flavors. 2. Course 1: Madai sashimi with market grapes and lime ponzu. Good if you want to start the meal on a very light note, but easily overshadowed by other parts of the meal in terms of flavor profile. However, sashimi itself was very fresh and the ponzu was a perfect complement. 3. Course 2: Slowly cooked Arctic char, heirloom cherry tomatoes, crispy rice, miso-yuzu broth. Yum. I chose to have the char served medium rare(per my server’s recommendation), and it had a wonderful, fishy(in a good way) flavor. The broth itself has a slight kick but did not overwhelm the rest of the dish. The crispy rice was admittedly a bit out of place — the pieces were quite large, so the bites were rather flavorless(because of the crispy exterior, they did not soak up the broth). But a minor bump in the road. 4. Dessert: We got complementary desserts(tiny PB&J macarons, chocolate, fruit gelee, and their signature housemade marshmallows). My favorite was the macarons. We also ordered from their dessert tastings menu($ 12) and opted for their caramel and fall tastings. Both were thoughtfully plated with 3 – 4 small bites per plate. My favorite bite from the caramel tasting was the caramel torte with banana brulee and caramel peanuts, while my favorite from the fall was the spiced squash linzer with brown butter powder. I did try bites of my friend’s plates(see photos). All were good, but didn’t try enough to make comments. As expected, service was knowledgable, efficient, and incredibly polite. The interior is clean and modern, yet comfortable. One thing I truly appreciated about Jean George was how approachable their restaurant is. By that, I mean they are open for lunch(unlike many of their 3 michelin star counterparts) for a much more affordable price, and some of their dinner items are in the lunch menu, allowing you to try their famous dishes. Highly recommend that you visit!

TLDR: Jean Georges was in the kitchen and I enjoyed every last bite. Long version: My pounding headache and the oppressive humidity on the walk over through Central Park got me dreading our lunch reservation. The horde of Asians in the waiting room signaled to me that Nougatine must be doing restaurant week. We checked in a backpack at the front and gave our name. The hostess said we would be seated shortly and indeed before we could take a proper selfie, we were led inside. The dining area was simply chic and felt like a breath of fresh air. Service was equally splendid. Decided to get the $ 48 tastes of summer(2 plate appetizer and entrée), since my appetite was diminished by the heat and a slight hangover. A young man sat alone at the table next to us and I overheard that he was visiting from Korea. I offered to translate the menu for him or any questions to the waitress which he declined as he was ordering the full tasting menu. After the amuse bouche arrived, my stomach and appetite awoke. As I plopped the uni appetizer on black bread, jalapeño and yuzu in my mouth, I knew that I was in for a real treat. My boyfriends summer squash and arugula salad confirmed the pure genius we were tasting. The entrée portion was perfect and by the end of my Parmesan crusted chicken I was miraculously cured of my hangover and ravenous for more. Ended up satisfying the beast through a dessert flight. I got chocolate and the bf had strawberry. Mine was just a smidgen better. Then came the silver lining aka the marshmallow and petit fours! Omg that marshmallow utterly slayed me. At the end of my sublime dessert flight, the man next to us asked whether I could relay a message to his waitress. He told me matter of factly that his girlfriend dumped him that morning, but that Jean Georges had momentarily held together the broken pieces of his crushed heart through that wondrous meal. I wholly believed him since Jean Georges had revived me as well and told his waitress. The waitress blushed and the young man and I just exchanged a knowing look. We would never taste French food so divine again. My only regrets would be not ordering the tasting menu and also not getting a picture with the miracle worker himself. Thank you Jean Georges~ your food is magical!

Jean Georges was my first Michelin star experience in New York City and it was definitely an amazing dining experience. They have a dress code so all guys need to wear a suit jacket to eat in the dining area but it was nice being in the classy atmosphere with everyone dressed nicely. When we arrived, they took our coats and stored them in the coat room and seated us promptly. We decided to do the tasting menu which consisted of ten plus different dishes. Honesty I won’t be able to describe each dish they served us but they have the dishes described in detail on their website’s menu. But each dish came out was delicious and even though they not look like large portions, by the end of the meal we were stuffed even before the dessert came out! After they served us dessert, they brought us out a second round of desserts that consisted of chocolates, mini macarons and homemade marshmallows. We were way too full by then but they gave us a little baggy to take our second round of desserts home. :) The service as you can imagine was excellent with our server being very attentive and explained every dish to us in detail when first served. The only small issue we had was when we were leaving and waiting to get our coats back, they had issued locating our coats along with the people’s coats in front of us. Hopefully they have a better system now for organizing everyone’s coats so they don’t have to wait 10 – 15 mins to retrieve their coats back. Otherwise it was an amazing dining experience and I would recommend this place to everyone!

INSHORT: Luxurious dining in the Trump International Hotel features a «less is more» approach, resulting in pure, articulate dishes fashioned from just a few distinct components. THESTORY: Since it opened in 1997, Jean-Georges has always been about reimagining French food in a manner that would be simultaneously accessible and exquisitely upscale. Today, that concept is still executed with the utmost precision, but the restaurant is no longer just a place to take-in laws. At a recent lunch, tables were filled with young couples celebrating an anniversary, a group of women at a bridal shower brunch, and some pairs of well-dressed friends enjoying an extraordinary midday meal, proving that the food at Jean-Georges is just as relevant as ever. The focus is on the clarity of diverse flavors, with each working independently to achieve some sort of subtle, impossible harmony. A dish like the Charred Corn Ravioli then becomes a choir of many different voices, though if one listens closely enough, individual voices can be deciphered with ease. In a single bite, rich, smoky notes of the corn quickly yield to the bright acidity of the young cherry tomatoes, which then rush to defer to the verdant, vinegary basil fondue that swaddles and finishes the dish. The chorus of flavors is intended to be just short of seamless, each sensation tamed by a sophisticated, democratic hand that ensures no one note claims complete dominance over another. This is the classic Jean-Georges style, which allows for the integration of influences far outside the French canon, so long as they serve to focus the central, first note of the dish. Avocado and light, fruity passion fruit mustard balance the Sautéed Gulf Shrimp with a distinct Asian bite, but again, the emphasis here is on the quick transition from the parts to the whole. Jean-Georges also succeeds at framing every individual flavor by utilizing sauces that are light, oily, and broth-based. Ethereal scents are preferred over the round richness of heavy sauces, a technique that works perfectly in the Black Sea Bass, which is crusted with nuts and seeds and rests in a sweet and sour jus that smells of wild, earthy chanterelles. This style may not impress everyone with a discerning palette, particularly those who taste the pearl onions in the black sea bass or the vinegar in the ravioli too singularly and yearn for a more complex integration of these more off-putting individual flavors. Yet no one can argue that the effect of the basil and lemon butter in the Parmesan Crusted Chicken does anything but enhance the dish as it interjects its bright acidity into every bite. No one can argue that the way in which the crispiness of the chicken breast gives way to the more tender artichoke heart on which it sits is anything but clear and elegant. It is a dish confident in its mastery of each flavor, egalitarian in its approach to execute each with radical transparency and energy. Lunchtime still sees many returning guests relaxing in the bright and dazzling space, which envisions a modern, green, and serene New York, but the polished and charming staff is certain to make every first-time diner feel just like a confident regular. Of course, it couldn’t be any other way, because the spirit of Jean-Georges is in the finest, equal and elegant treatment of individual components, and in presenting a restaurant that is magically much more than the sum of its parts. Insgesamt ein super Essen, people watching inklusive.

The room was beautiful and the service was perfect — extremely detail oriented but not overly stuffy. We had the prix fixe with half glass wine pairings(all superb), and dessert. The amuse bouche was incredible and included a crispy rice cake with salmon. We had the prix fixe wtih half glass wine pairings(all superb). Our courses: — foie gras brulee(a JG classic) — sea urchin — turbot with château chalon sauce(MUSTTRY) cod with lemongrass — the duck with candied almonds — lobster. For dessert we had the apple and caramel tastings. Our entire experience was fantastic. JG was in the house chatting with the diners to our right and our left, who included a very famous chef, a soccer star, and his former pop star wife. The celebs actually distracted from the meal slightly but we persevered and focused on the food and wine!
