Wow! It was raining and we were miserable! Happened upon Jack’s and it was a revelation! Ordered a three tapas combo with rack of lamb, chicken quesadilla, and steamed dumplings — and everything was astonishing! And we had equally amazing drinks: The Preakness(an old fashioned) and a cucumber based vodka drink! Everything was wonderful!!! And the sweet Collette was the most charming Irish lass! Our mood made a 180 turn!

Our final night in New York and we had the best service, drinks and dinner tonight. Two thumbs up to the servers, bartenders and the cooks! Would highly recommend this place!

Was in the area to see a Broadway show and was looking for something to eat after and as you know Times Square is a very hectic place and we were looking for some place to eat where we could avoid all the crowds but not too far away so this place was only 2 – 3 blocks away, we got there at 5:30 on a Saturday night and we were able to sit down right away and it wasn’t packed, this place has a nice ambiance and nice serving staff, I chose this place because I was looking for a place that had tapas and this was a good choice we shared 3 tapas for $ 29.95, we had the chicken quesadilla, chorizo naan and margarita flatbread, they came together all in one big plate and everything was tasty and had good serving sizes, that being said I could’ve probably ate all of it alone if I was hungrier, for dessert we had tiramisu and it was good also, nice little restaurant not far from Times Square but also away from all the people!

Really nice bar. Simple, but elegant. Came here with my brother near 5 pm. There were few people sitting at the bar and two-three couples — at the tables. We had some beer and chicken wings. The service was really good.

Have been coming to Jack’s for years but had it been recently so the review is fresh. The place continues to be consistently good and delivers great quality food and good service. The tables are claustrophobically close and your conversation will be more public… My favorite is the steamed salmon cooked in a bamboo container and served with steamed vegetables and soy sauce on the side. Always high quality flakey fish cooked to order and crisp fresh veg. Love it.

Ordered the 3 tapas. 2 of the 3 was alright. Orderer the quesadillas instead Do not get the veg dumplings. They tasted like dirty socks and smelled awful. Drinks were a ridiculous amount for the smallest glass. Not recommended for drinks or food… not worth it

Typical restaurant you’d find in Times Square. I came for a business lunch, so it was fitting, but otherwise I wouldn’t come here. Made a reservation for 5 at 12pm and it was empty but by 12:30 it was packed. You walk in and it’s a long narrow restaurant with white table cloths for booth and chair seating. I got the grilled salmon and it was good, but nothing extraordinary. Service was average.

My husband and I came here for dinner and loved the food. We had the ribeye steak and Moroccan chicken. Both were very good. He ordered Coke and I ordered tea. just so people know refills are not free so don’t waste your money on ordering. Our waitress visited our table once which we had to flag down to get her attention. Once we were finished we asked for separate checks because we are here for business. the waitress didn’t care for that so she went to the register and told the other waitress about it and she looked over and shook her head that we would ask such a foreign thing! Really! There aren’t business people here asking for separate checks? That is the only reason I’m giving a three star because of attitude here! Food was good but being treated sub standard is not acceptable.

The tapas here is delicious! Sat at the bar the whole night with a few friends and the bartender, Bronko was super attentive and kind. Can’t wait to go back and bring more friends! Super classy, and welcoming for a place so close to time square.

Walked in at 2300 on a Saturday. My steak was perfectly cooked. The beer was cold, and waitress was down to earth and didn’t pull any cheap sales gimmicks about the daily specials. All the appetizers looked great, but had to settle on one. Beer selection was outstanding. Imports didn’t take over the menu but still offered a selection for the sophisticated. Cathy, the waitress, took my New York accent jokes with a smile and a laugh. This is the best«off the main strip» Times Square restaurant… period. I will recommend more chocolate on the dessert menu.

Food was very good. I had the tuna which was great. My husband had the pot pie and it was very good also. The pot pie was very very hot so you need to let it cool down. The crostini appetizer was excellent as well. I would definitely recommend this place.

This is one of my favorite places around Times Square and love to take friends before a show as they do an excellent pre-theatre menu which is great value and always good. I also love the tapas here the Grilled Chorizo and Lamb Curry and Mint empanadas are fab. Also recently tried the seafood stew which was delicious they certainly don’t hold back on the seafood a very generous portion. Always a very warm welcome at the door by the host and the restaurant itself is nicely decorated and very comfortable booths. Our sever was very fast and efficient even though it was very busy still took the time to talk and ask us what show we were going to see. Looking forward to my next visit to Jacks already. l

My expectations were high, and I wound up being disappointed. Me and two of my friends went here the other night. To Jack’s credit, the cocktails were great, however everything from the appetizers to the soup of the day, to dinner were bland. For the price we paid, the food was simply sub-par at best. The roasted red pepper soup of the day wasn’t bursting with flavor and the coconut curry that I had was plain and I couldn’t detect any curry or coconut flavors. This could be in part due to the fact that the menu seems to span so many different food types. Additionally, out waitress wasn’t particularly attentive and we had to wait quite a while for her to realize we were done with appetizers and ready to order the main course(we sat adjacent to the waitress’ station). Stop by for a drink and you won’t be disappointed, but head somewhere else if you’re going to be paying NYC prices for food. *Important to note that many of the reviews dating back to 2012 mention the same issue with bland food. Should have checked Unilocal before going. Oh well, shit happens.

This was the worst place I ate at in NYC and definitely the worst eggs Benedict of my life and I’ve had lots! For starters, I ordered the bagel and lox and after ordering, ten minutes later, they told me there was no more lox.(This was 30 minutes into their brunch starting on a Sunday.) So I ordered the eggs Benedict, how bad could it be? Answer: awful. First it was cold. Second the eggs were so over cooked there was no runny yolk. Third the Hollandaise was not Hollandaise at all, it was basically straight up vinegar. So I sent it back and I never ever send food back. The second time, I knew when I saw it that this place just didn’t know how to cook eggs properly. The sauce was still super weird and vinegary and the eggs were not normal eggs for an eggs Benedict. I didn’t even try the potatoes because I just wanted to pay and leave. One star for the waitress who I sensed felt bad, not her fault this place makes awful eggs Benedict. Never will come back here again.

I simply love this place! Especially Liam, the bar King. Lots of regulars and theater-goers throughout the day and evenings. Staff are super professional and friendly. Food is pretty good and the ambiance is tre-chic!

Found this place close to the theatre and we were very pleased with the service and food. The service was great. We ordered 3 tapas items and they were all fresh and hot, we also ordered a steak salad and the steak was cooked perfectly. The menu had a lot of good options that anyone could choose from. Good overall experience and would go back.

So I found Jack’s while walking around Times Square after work tonight. Didn’t look too crowded for a Friday night, but they are a little off the beaten track. The menu looked good so I gave it a try. I’m glad I did. The place was very cozy and clean, the service friendly and prompt. I started my meal with a petite Caesar salad. The greens were fresh, and the croutons toasted perfectly. The dressing had just a hint of sardines, as a good Caesar should. A small basket of very fresh bread was served with the salad. Both brown and sourdough. The main course was a grilled 9 oz Filet Mignon served with red roasted potatoes, asparagus and a shrimp peppercorn sauce. Yum. The steak was very good, tender and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The shrimp peppercorn sauce was light and tasty, and there were two large grilled jumbo shrimp served on top of the steak. The potatoes were actually fire roasted and very good. The asparagus was crisp but not undercooked. Overall a good dining experience. A little pricey, $ 68, but hey, it’s New York!

Delicious! We had a little bit of everything — seafood, chicken, mushrooms, pot stickers, french fries etc. — hence tapas! The best tip about this place: this place is very cozy, even a spot at the bar makes you feel welcome!

Great service, very attentive very caring. The food though, I was not impressed. The brunch menu looked great on paper, but the chicken and fruit was very blend… Yogurt sauce was watered down and had absolutely no flavor to it, I needed to order a side of dressing so that I could enjoy some kind of flavor with it… My friend enjoyed her Steak and Eggs though… Bread was not warm and very bland. Over all a 3 star kind of place.
