Great company Great warm, welcoming atmosphere and delish bites and sips of wine. It’s all about the company you keep

This is a lovely, quiet spot in Hells kitchen to have a nice, intimate dinner or drink. I decided to treat my friend since it was her birthday. We came in on a Sunday right before our movie so it was very quiet and low key. The menu mostly conisists of small plates, tapas etc. We shared the Fig, Mozarella & Prosciutto flatbread– very tasty. My friend went with one of the flights, I went for the bellini. I had the waitress surprise my friend with a chocolate Mousse cake after dinner. Everything went perfectly. Good prices, great service and quiet. It’s rare to find that combo.

Adella is a great spot to share lots of tapas and try great wines. I have to admit I’m not a wine connoisseur, but I love coming here with my parents who are. Don’t be alarmed they still have some great beers as well. Last time I came here we all shared: the brie, spinach & mushroom flatbread, the truffle mac & cheese, tuna tartare, steak tartare, the meatballs and pâté. The only dish I could have done without were the meatballs, but only because everything else was so much better. The inside can be a little noisy since the room only seats about 3 tables and there’s usually a large table of girls catching up. The best seating is outside so you can people watch. I’ll definitely be coming back to try their brunch. Just note that the dishes take a bit longer to come out so don’t come here if you’re in a rush. The tapas are worth the wait though!

I don’t know how long the deal runs but today there were one dollar oysters that we could not resist. Sparkling wine flights are really lovely and shrimp cocktail is succulent. A really cute and surprisingly empty spot.

I was given this address by a friend who raved about Adella but I was unaware of where it was since I had never seen a sign for it despite having gone down this street many times. I found the entrance and sat down and given a menu. It is a small place with bar seating as well as tables. I ordered the frisee salad which was drizzled with balsamic vinegar and consisted of beets, walnuts and goat cheese. It was very tasty. The waiter, Evan, was very accommodating and at the end of the meal brought me my coffee and the check. I would recommend and return.

Really nice and high quality tapas bar. Had a small bite before a Broadway show. We had a flat bread plate and a cheese and charcuterie plate and both were top of the line. Really liked the cheese, and I’ve had my share of them since I live in Europe.

This review is based on service. We went here for after dinner drinks last nite as we pass it often. The décor is very rustic and nice and though it was busy we were able to get a seat in the corner. We decided to get a flight each, but I was torn between the France and Italy flight and asked my waitress to help decide. Her response was«I don’t even know what’s in each» as she grabbed my menu from my hands, and then said«I don’t know.» So i chose the cheaper since she couldn’t dare to try and upsell me. Wine was very good and we ordered 3 cheeses that came out delish as well. Never saw the waitress again and we literally had to get out of our seats to grab her, as we attempted previously to wave her down frantically, to get the bill. Not worth the agitation to return especially with this kind of service. Plenty of nice wine bars(Riposo 46, Wine Escape) nearby to frequent instead.

Fantastic place! Small and intimate. I had long time friends visiting from out of town and it was a lovely reunion for all of us. Thank goodness for Unilocal! It was a Wednesday night… And perfect for us since all we wanted was wine and tapas. The entire experience was excellent from Cheese/meat boards to truffle mac n cheese, beef stew, and shrimp. The 2 desserts — lime something and choc mouse cake were absolutely divine!!! Perfect end to the night. The wine choices were incredible. The two bartenders/servers are the best. They allowed us to taste whatever wine wanted… flights galore! And they gave us New plates /silverware for every change over. Nice touch! They were super accommodating, funny and friendly. We started as 5 ppl at the bar and ended up as 7 sitting the the large wooden communal table. Love this place and we will definitely return. Thanks a mil!

My girlfriends and I just happened upon this little gem one night thanks to the Unilocal app. We were greeted by the sweetest waitress from NC! Great food and wine! We each had a bowl of the butternut squash soup and shared some of the tapas. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!!! Loved the experience!

Adella is not bad, but not amazing either. It’s solid, like the wine bar equivalent of Old Yeller. Neither the South American Reds flight nor the Old World Reds flight were particularly impressive to me(especially since they botched one of the offerings in the South American flight and gave us something from Napa instead). The food is better, such as the Truffle Mac ‘n’ Cheese, Gambas al Ajillo and Meatballs. However, in a city filled with sensational tapas spots, I just never seem to return here.

It’s a sleek wine bar & tapa place — but it is also pretty nice place for brunch. Presentation is gorgeous, Brunch flatbreads & eggs were served on wood cutting boards, and poached eggs were done right. Plus — mmmmmmmm, bacon!!! Brunch drinks are good — creative! In summer, they have outdoor seating — nice to relax and people-watch on lazy late Sunday morning.

Unexpectedly amazing! Bobby and his team know how to take great care of their guests. Delicious wine flights at a reasonable price and a mean cheese plate, what more could you ask for?

Nice little wine and tapas restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen. It’s great for a group if you get reservations and has a nice elegant interior. The food is in small portions and not much to write home about, although the oysters are pretty good. We had a cheese plate, meatballs, an Italian sausage flatbread, mac n cheese, crostini and mussels. All were pretty good, though the mac n cheese is a really small bowl. Overall the wine flights are a little overpriced and you’re better off getting a bottle. All of the food is fairly overpriced. The service was pretty good, but there is better food in the neighborhood.

My friends and I came here before a Broadway show and were pleasantly surprised at how short the wait was. The space itself is lovely — airy and welcoming, and the bar is gorgeous. It was raining that night and we originally wanted to sit inside, but the a/c was at penguin-temperatures, so we opted to sit on the patio. While the patio was covered, the lack of any sort of heat lamp made everything feel a little chillier than we hoped. The tables outside are also really wobbly, so be aware of that! I ordered the truffle mac and cheese and while the portion was small, it was tasty.(It could have used a little more truffle flavor though.) My friends ordered the prosciutto flatbread and they really enjoyed it. It was gone in less than 5 minutes. Service was just ok, they didn’t check on us after the food arrived, but they were really great about moving our appetizers along so we could get to our show in time. I would definitely come back here the next time I’m heading to a show!

Glad to find another cozy/speak-easy wine bar in Hell’s kitchen! Stopped by in Thursday evening with my friend. Though it’s a pretty small place — bar area, one big communal table and few small tables inside and outside — the bar is not overly crowded and not super loud, just good to catch up with your friends. Pros: 1) Reasonable price & good quality of both wine and small plates. Good cheese/meat platter — they offer 9 different kinds of cheese and 4 types of charcuterie. I also liked crostini with goat cheese(the one with crab was a bit fishy). 2) A variety of wine flights. Only $ 13 – 15 per wine flight and 10 different combinations of choices(e.g. Old world red flight, French flight, Rose flight, etc), which are far cheaper and more interesting than comparable wine bars in Chelsea! 3) Small, cozy, intimate, speak-easy Cons: 1) Servers are not attentive. When you walk in, you would have to find seating by yourself and wait for a bit until someone will recognize new customers… 2) Only small plates. Not good for group dining, don’t ever come when you are starving… I will definitely come back soon to try one of the wine flights(only if I’m not hungry so that small bites with a glass of wine should be enough for my dinner).

There’s a lot to like here. The service is very friendly, the atmosphere is pleasant, and it’s in a great location right smack dab in the middle of Hell’s Kitchen. With that said, the food just isn’t what these reviews crack it up to be. We came here with a group of nine on a recent visit to the city. I’m from D.C. and can easily forget how small a typical Manhattan bar or restaurant can be. For a group of our size, a reservation is an absolute must because this place is tiny. Even with a reservation, however, the small space got so packed that chairs were hard to come by. Although our original reservation was for ten, there were only eight chairs available at our table when we arrived. We had to wait for a couple at the bar to leave before the last person in our group could sit down. Needless to say, the small plates format did not work very well with our large group. The tapas are small enough that a group of four or more would struggle to share them. They’re also very pricey for what they are. Yes, I realize I’m writing a review for a restaurant in the middle of New York City but $ 15 for a small serving of very good but basic mac and cheese is just ridiculous anywhere. I’d bet money that I could get close to the same thing that’s at least as good somewhere else in the city for much less. All of that said, we loved, loved, loved the wine. Our waitress was also fantastic and couldn’t have given us better service.

Are you like me and hate going to be a Broadway show right after eating a full diner? It always feel uncomfortable sitting with a full stomach while trying to enjoy a show. Adella is a perfect place to have a nice little bite and glass(es) of wine that will start your night in great style! Adella is a relatively small wine bar that serves tapas along with cheese and charcuterie. These small bites are the perfect accompaniment to the wide range of wines they have on offer. Oysters were delicious, meaty and fresh. The cheese selection is fairly extensive and you can surely find a nice pairing. The salads are dressed well and tasty. I can’t say I am a wine connoisseur, but I do appreciate a good glass of wine and always willing to find a new wine to enjoy. Adella does wine flights which are typically 32oz pours usually by region or style. It’s a great way to try different wines and see what works best with any food that you order. Found I couple that I would love to try again. You could also talk with the friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff that could offer suggestions and pairings. Either way you probably won’t go wrong. A great little place right here — beautiful intimate décor, great wines, delicious food offerings. It was a relaxing way to start the night off right and a nice little escape from the nearby hustle and bustle of Time Square.

Woohoo! My 200th review! 3 stars for A-OK. Came here with a GF and had a good time! Pros: * The décor and ambiance at Adella is elegant, comfortable and quaint. Love the gray and beige color tones. * It’s more of an intimate space, so I recommend for parties of 4 at most but ideal for 2. * My GF and I tried the wine flights South American Reds $ 14(Nero d’Avola/Frapatto, Planeta, Italy, Syrah/Grenache, Domaine la Ligiere, France, Primotivo, Tormaresca, Italy) and Old World Red(Nero d’Avola/Frapatto, Planeta, Italy, Syrah/Grenache, Domaine la Ligiere, France, Primotivo, Tormaresca, Italy) $ 14. The South American Red flight was more heavy and spicy, while my Old World Red was a bit drier. * Adella has a small menu of tapas from cheese plates to flat-breads. Recommend the Shrimp al Ajillo $ 14(Garlic, Paprika Oil, Fresh Herbs) as they were fresh and flavorful. Although the pasta was a bit overcooked, Truffle Mac & Cheese $ 15(Gruyère, White Truffle Oil) was very delicious and we devoured quickly. Cons: * I think our server got my friend’s wine flight wrong, instead of giving her a Cabernet Sauvignon he served her a Sauvignon Blanc(either the Trapiche or the MontGras, Chile– which actually turned out to be my favorite wine of the night!) * My least favorite tapas were the Meatballs $ 11(Tomato Sauce, Pecorino Cheese). The meatballs tasted like they came out of a microwaved TV dinner. Adella is perfect for a cozy and warm night of small bites and delicious wines. My only qualm is that I find ALL Manhattan wine bars to be so overpriced, and the same applies at Adella. Overall, spent $ 44 for 1 wine flight and 3 shared tapas. Nice for special occasions but not all the time, it would burn a hole in my wallet.

I came here with a few girlfriends for dinner near Port Authority. Nice wine bar. Food was good but not amazing. Flatbreads were best bang for the buck, but the bread is kind of bland. The burrata was nice in writing but kind of meager in proportion. Skip the shrimp — nothing special there and over priced. Cheese plate was great; check out Tur and the blue. I felt badly because I had called to change a res from 8 to 6, but that had not been registered by the time we arrived. However, the host was nice enough to let us stay at the big table in the front even though we offered to move.
