Having just moved into the neighborhood, I’ve been into Inwood Paint & Hardware twice for a variety of reasons. And as has been stated before in reviews, it’s cluttered, over-priced and hard to understand the staff. So, unless you know exactly what you need, this will be a frustrating exercise. My father-in-law has been in three other times and the last time(today) was asked to leave after the shop keeper tried to sell him the wrong sized screw for a drawer handle and was reluctant to even take his return, keeping the change — .19¢. I know it’s not much but this is one family who won’t be frequenting this store.

The man, the owner, is perfectly friendly, business natured, and wants to help! I needed a light fixture $ 3, 2ft wire $.98, and an infinity bulb $ 6.99. The place is filled with stuff, there is almost no walking area, does it matter? No! He went into his back room and minutes later returned with all three items like the WIZARDOFOZ! I left, but quickly returned since I needed one washer as well, the packs were $ 1.50, he without me asking, offered to find one, lose washer, he did, only $.25! I literally gave him one quarter and left. Each part worked perfectly. I will go back, RadioShack didn’t have what I needed but he did! Bring cash unless over $ 20, but there is an ATMINTHEBODEGANEXTDOOR! Great convenience!

Inwood Paint & Hardware is a cluttered, over-priced and frustrating store… but they have almost anything you need in a pinch. Don’t bother calling ahead to see if they have something you need. Chances are they won’t understand the question or their answer back to you will be unintelligible. Just pop in and see… Only come here if you have to… after you’ve exhausted your search somewhere else.
