It’s just aright. I came here at 1pm for lunch and I wondered if its because I came here late, the buffet had almost no food left. There was 4 very sad looking pieces of friend chicken thighs, noodles, rice and cauliflower left. There was also an(almost) full container of chicken ribs(or at least that’s what someone in line told me.) I grabbed a bit of everything and the total came out to a little over 7 dollars. I thought the food was okay but underwhelming. Everything tastes very average but it wasn’t bad. i would probably come earlier when they have more variety and quantity of food next time.

I live in the neighborhood and have always been a fan of this restaurant. True, as other reviewers have mentioned, the delivery can take forever(and I only live two blocks away) which can be very agitating but it’s been something I can live with. I have remained loyal to this restaurant despite their occasional extremely late deliveries. However, last night, and this actually pains me to say, will be the last time I ever patron this restaurant because they 100% gave me food poisoning. Last night I ordered my usual chicken quesadilla. Let me remind you, I live two blocks away. The quesadilla(just one quesadilla) took over two hours to get here. They were, however, nice enough to say they were going to refund me on seamless because it took so long. Although, I have yet to check to see if they actually did because I literally just stopped puking everywhere. Once I finally got the quesadilla, I ate it and then took a nap. When I woke up from my nap, and mind you this was the only thing I ate the entire day, I was extremely sick. In fact, I had food poisoning. I threw up for over 9 hours straight and all of the other fun stuff that accompanies being poisoned by a bad chicken quesadilla. Needless to say my entire Saturday night was ruined, I had to sleep in the bathroom because I could not stop vomiting. Thanks a lot Iguazu café, you made me wait two hours for a chicken quesadilla that poisoned me likely because you used bad chicken. Not to mention, you completely destroyed my body and my weekend plans. Little advice, make sure your food is fresh and don’t poison your customers or else you will shortly find yourself with a lack of willing patrons and some bad Unilocal reviews. As for me, I will never be back and everyone I know will hear this story. Thank you very much owner/manager/chef, you should all be much much much much more careful when deciding what food is suitable to serve to your guests. You will also be getting a phone call from me on Monday, since you’re closed on Sunday’s, hate to take this public but you will certainly be hearing from me. Enjoy the rest of your weekend because you already ruined mine.

Went here several times for lunch take-out. Food is very delicious and varies from day-to-day. Lunch items are charged by weight and I was able to get rice & peas, chicken wings, stuffed crab claws and Book Choy for $ 5. Wow that was a bargain and the food was quite delicious. Only downside is that by 1PM, the food is all gone and they usually don’t make more. Advice is to get there early. With gentrification starting to occur I’m not sure how long these cheap and wonderful eateries will be around. This is the next up-and-coming place to be.

Called in a delivery order. Was given a 30 minute estimate. After about 45 – 50 minutes, I called back. The man on the other end apologized and said they were experiencing unusual business and gave me a new 20 minute window. About 40 minutes after the second call, I called again to check back. The man apologized again and said that it would arrive any minute. I asked him if the order was sent out for delivery yet, and he admitted that it hadn’t and quoted me a 20 minute window. After being lied to three times, I decided to cancel instead. He protested that the order had already been cooked. So I asked him, so it’ll be ready if I come down now to pick it up? He said no, what he meant was that the order had already been sent back to the kitchen. I’ve worked in restaurants for over ten years. While delays are inevitable with business spikes, what I cannot stand is being lied to. I cancelled the order and instead ordered from some other place that gave me an hour delivery window from the start, citing heavy business. I was not happy that the window was that long, but appreciated the honesty. No idea how the food is, but they’ll tell you anything to get your business. Just not a practice I like to patronize.

Terrible customer service… can’t even rate their food because it was never delivered!!! A little over an hour after my order been placed I had contacted the restaurant asking what is the status and even given them an option to cancel the order, they had told me the driver is 5 min away. I waited patiently for the delivery and 1.5 hours after the order had been placed I received a phone call from grubhub telling me that the restaurant canceled my order because driver couldn’t find the address. The restaurant never called me to ask me about my location, nor to update me that the delivery will not be made. The order was canceled almost 30 min after I had first called the restaurant to check for my status. I do not think it is fair nor good customer service — it is not about 2pm and I do not have my lunch which I hoped to have more than an hour ago. Also, I called the restaurant back after the grubhub cancellation to ask why they never called me. They didn’t even apologize.

This place is the holy grail. Ordered bfast sandwich, french toast, and a chicken empanada(I was very hungry) and everything was DELICIOUS. Delivery was speedy too! This is definitely going to become a weekly(if not more)(probably more) thing.

Good service, fast. Friendly staff. Had tacos $ 2.5 each. Nice flavor. If they add salsa options then 5*. Note Unilocal map I followed points to street corner but it is more in the middle of the block.

This place is awesome! The service is great and the food is delicious. They also have delivery so if you’re lazy and just want to eat in, definitely give them a call. The owner is also super friendly. The environment isn’t super fancy but it’s cozy. I recommend the steak salad with avocado.

I’m surprised by the reviews because my experience was not so good. I waited 30 minutes for a simple taco and fries. The 2 people at the register were clueless and kept disappearing into the kitchen. The AC was on too high. The food was fine but the service was poor.

Service alone deserves 5 stars. Food deserves another 5 stars. (Why can’t I give 10 stars!?) I stopped by at around 8:10 today(June 12) because I was desperately craving some tacos. Saw the Unilocal reviews and decided to come here. I was taken aback by the friendly service here(cashier working today I’m sorry I didn’t get your name). He answered my questions with ease and explained to me why they close at 8:30pm instead of the listed 10:00pm on the menu. That’s fine with me i’ll just head here earlier! They ran out of chicken wings today, darn that made me really want some! I had a beef taco and chicken taco along with a beef empanada. It. Was. Divine. Think fresh cilantro with perfectly marinated meats with onion and their special green sauce on the side. I will definitely be back Iguazu!

Got the steak here, ribeye and shell, both medium rare. Came back extremely well done. Maybe there was a different chef because my friend raves about the steak here. It was tough and a chore to eat. On the upside, their rice was very good. Unfortunately, it is not enough to make me want to return

Came in for breakfast. Pretty basic. Coffee was awesome. Home fries were cold, ham was basic deli sliced heated on a grill. Hubs got a breakfast burrito and got full pretty quick. I’ll still come back.

Walking home from the subway, I decided to deviate from my usual path and in doing so came across this nice looking storefront. The street is small and not highly trafficked. Most of the other shops on the street are not places you would want to go, so Iguaza definitely stands out. Kinda hungry, I stood outside in the cold and quickly Unilocaled them to see if it was worth going in, and was frankly surprised(based on the area) to see so many positive reviews. As soon as I walked in I was welcomed by the owner’s son and asked if it was my first time there. I said yes and he very nicely suggested popular menu items. This kind of customer service is rare, but even more surprising considering the surroundings and modest prices. It quickly became apparent that this small business takes pride in their work. The actual physical location was VERY clean and nicely decorated. Great exposed brick walls on both ends of the restaurant. They have a department of health A rating and great service, combined with tasty food, what more can you as for in a little mom and pop restaurant? I only had a quesadilla, which was good, but I’m kinda curious to go back and try more. Before the real-estate boom, Manhattan used to be filled with great little family owned restaurants like this, less and less everyday. Nice to see that places like this can still exist, at least on a forgotten street in the middle of nowhere. If you are in the area and want some tasty/affordable food, this is definitely a good place to try.

Muy bueno! Además bonito y barato, sobre todo para el desayuno. Muy amable servicio aunque puede tardar un poco la comida. ++++ Very good! Nice and inexpensive, specially for breakfast. Very amiable service although orders can take a bit to come out.

I must have walked my dog past this place 200+ times and never even considered going here… Until my wife and I talked to one of the owners, Edwin, outside the restaurant. Great guy! My wife and I finally made a point to stop by and have dinner there one night. MAN, I wish it didn’t take me so long to check this place out!!! That’s what I deserve for judging a book by it’s cover. Not that the place is a dive! I just wasn’t overly enticed by the décor. The place is really clean. Just kind of plain. That’s all. The best I can describe the food as is a melting pot of Argentinian, Central American and American(burgers and fried chicken wings to appease the not so adventurous). The stuffed bell pepper was killer! The steak over rice and beans was flavorful and satisfying, the chicken soup is delicious, the pork belly was perfect and the price was what really sealed the deal!!! Super affordable!!! I’ve been told that the lunch buffet is a different menu but equally awesome! I think it might lean more towards Columbian. I haven’t had it yet. I’ll have to make a point to try it on a Saturday.(They are closed on Sunday’s). Kudos, Iguazu! This place is now one of my local«go to’s».

This review is for their lunch… Just stopped in here for their breakfast, but didn’t make it on time — breakfast ends at 3 p.m. So, we decided to try their lunch as they have a good variety on the menu. Got it to go, went home, and was completely disgusted. The«chicken» soup had one piece of chicken in it… that was covered in fat. The mashed potatoes are straight out the box… and you can smell the flakes! No salt, no butter… nothing. I ate one spoonful and it tasted like paste. The empanada was bland with no flavor… not even in the shredded chicken — tasted like a piece of moist cardboard. I know this place is cheap… but, come on. I paid $ 3 for boxed mashed potatoes? I can get homemade mashed potatoes anywhere… even at Crown Fried Chicken. Two stars because the guy behind the counter was awesome and my can of Diet Coke really hit the sugar spot. I will come back to try the breakfast and, hopefully, update my review.

The best steak I’ve ever eaten in my life! Truly amazing!!! Prices are low, food is unbelievably yummy, the place is cute and cozy, the owners are really nice people! Amazing food, free wi-fi, huge tv, pleasant people around and the lowest prices in the area — they have it all. One of my favorite places in Manhattan! Thank you, guys! Will definitely come back soon!!!

Good spot in the neighborhood that’s fresh, tasty, and affordable. I’ve had both tacos and the meat was really solid. Though they suffer a bit from soggy tortilla syndrome(which literally every taco west of Texas has) so iunno it’s what it is. I also had the iguazu chicken platter which was chicken thighs cooked tenderly with some good rice, beans, tostones, and salad. It’s all pretty healthy too which sometimes is hard to do around here. I’m gonna check it out for breakfast at some point.

Jennie, the elegant young lady behind the register was very helpful in helping me decide what to get. I was looking for a quick bite and she recommended the tacos. I’m ver skeptical about tacos in NYC having been let down 9⁄10. Tacos were legit. I had both the steak and chicken. They were both great but the steak was better. They have this spicy house made sauce that’s a hit real kick it it. Tacos came with a house salad with corn and beets. All for under $ 6! I also had the chicken sandwich on a bun. I made the mistake of no mayo. I shoulda asked for something for the chicken like vinaigrette. Sandwich was a bit in the dry side. Still a great deal though. They had the TV on and were watching«starving games.» The set up at this place is clean and overall nice. 5 stars based on the service and unbeatable price. Also ordered the
