Brand new medical group for out patient. This is an ambulatory care center for people with heart problems. You can not walk in off the street. A referral is needed.

My daughter hurt her wrist at the end of February. We went to City MD for the initial visit since her regular Pediatrician did not have an X-Ray machine. City MD told us to follow up after 4 – 6 weeks with an orthopedic doctor. We chose the Icahn School due to the closeness to our apartment and their affiliation to Mount Sinai Hospital. While everything went smoothly. My daughter and her Dad did not care for Dr. Kim’s bedside manner. According to them he was not rude but seemed like he had an attitude. They did say that his assistant was nice. Dr. Kim if you are reading this. Like in college, please take note.

My mom had surgery here and the staff were great, kind, they listened to our requests, made sure we were informed about everything regarding her procedure, rights, etc. The hospital is huge, not impressive décor but let’s be real… its a hospital. We are about to get our food now, options sounded great such as baked chicken, fish, yogurt, pizza, fruits, multiple juices, pasta, rice, etc. I am not sure about taste and quality yet. The reason I don’t give them 5 stars is because we were not notified when my mom came out of surgery, no one came looking for us, and the beeper thing they gave us never went off. My mom had been out of surgery for 3 hours when we finally got to see her. All in all its a great hospital, with great doctors and nurses and we had a wonderful, successful, stress free stay. Thanks to all the staff who helped with my moms recuperation.

I worked at MSSM in a stem cell lab as a tech for two years before going to grad school. Those were two excellent years. Learned a lot at work and had all of Manhattan right in front of me during my time off.
