This place sucks ASS. I can’t even comment on the food because it never arrived. I was there with coworkers for lunch, and we waited over 45 minutes for food, along with everyone else in the restaurant. It was a normal weekday lunch, and not one table received any food for at least 30 minutes straight. There was literally no wait staff to be found, and no explanation was given to us or anyone else as to the reason for the delay. The table behind us had been waiting over an hour, and several tables got up and left — including us. The hostess was basically sulking in a corner. She saw us walking out, and then totally ignored us. My coworker asked her nicely what the problem had been, and the hostess said she had«Done everything she could» in an unapologetic tone. She was clearly stressed out, but she didn’t even have the energy to be sympathetic to us or pretend like she gave a shit. I can’t believe that people run a business this way — especially in NYC. It’s the only restaurant in an area full of upscale businesses, and it could be really successful as a place for business lunches. Instead, it’s straight up embarrassing. Neither myself nor any of my coworkers will probably ever go there again even though we work two doors down.

This is a simple review so I’ll keep it brief: –The food is mostly excellent here. I mostly go for breakfast and their french toast royal is simply fantastic! French toast with eggs and bacon is a lifesaver to me at least twice a week. I’ve eaten lunch here just once but my bacon cheeseburger was made the way i wanted it and i was happy(damn, i might eat too much bacon lol). –Staff is friendly and still learning. They are pretty new because there was a change in management here recently(a couple of times actually if you go back a year and a half) and yes they may be a little slower than you would like but give them some time! This isn’t a chain restaurant so be patient… –They don’t open for breakfast until 8am, which is bad for some of the early risers who work in the south village. Like one reviewer pointed out, this area is out of the way and it’s hard to get a good bite early in the morning or overnight… open at 5am please! –A bit pricey for my liking but the breakfast is great and it’s a good option for the location. Don’t be scared to try this place out, it’s nice inside and while some work needs to be done i think it’s a fine establishment that’s still growing.

This place is in the middle of nowhere which is hard to manage in NYC, bad lighting, a menu with TOO many choices, a drink list/wine list that’s all over the map, and some mediocre to awful food. The staff is disinterested and inattentative. I give this place until February, it will close, and someone with some real restaurant savvy-NOT current owner Chris Stein, will come in, make the necessary menu and physical changes and give the growing neighborhood what they really need!

will keep this very simple: DEESGUSTING. AVOID. – place REEKS of ammonia/cleaning product — should’ve simply walked out then. – server was SEVERELY challenged — very slow, did not understand what i ordered and so rec’d wrong order; hardly checked on us at all. – hanger steak sliders: gross, overcooked so tough they were hockey pucks; also waitress did not ask what temp i wanted. – after we asked for the check, saw there was an error on it, but bc it took entirely too long for someone/the manager to come over to fix the situation, i lent my friend money so we could pay in cash — and we short-paid the tab. to sum up: DISGUSTING. AVOID.

Agree with previous reviewer that the service is REALLY slow. We got for takeout and it took at least 25 – 30 minutes for it to come out. Came in here today with a coworker, since it’s in my work area… in a grumpy mood due to the terrible weather(stepped into a 6in deep puddle when getting out of a cab, and just ended up wading through it). I just… really really wanted a salad. AND I CAMETOTHERIGHTPLACE! The Spinach Salad met my highest expectations! Bacon and feta cheese, tomato, egg, portobello mushrooms, with a creamy lemon citrus dressing. The mix of flavors was perfect! I barely used any dressing because the way the bacon and portobello flavors mixed together was plenty flavorful enough! This salad salvaged my mood for the day. Despite having soaking wet shoes and damp hair for the next 3 hours, I was much happier thanks to the Hudson Square Exchange. My coworker got the Hangar Steak salad, which is apparently amazing, but I didn’t get a chance to taste it. But I have been informed that it is highly recommended. One thing though, these salads are not cheap! But you are getting what you pay for. Definitely will be returning for more lunchtime salad happiness.

I was very pleased with the food at this place. Tried the Meatloaf and it tasted great. My friends also enjoyed their food. Good sized portions. The dessert was a gelato, chocolate, and cherry almond dish and it tasted very good. My one criticism is the server. The owner, who sat us, was more attentive to our needs than the server who seemed to disappear for long periods. By the time he returned, the owner had already taken care of our requests. This new owner has a place that will succeed if his servers will move with the same enthusiasm and passion as he demonstrates. I will return there on my next trip.

Waited 45 minutes for my steak order. The reason I was given for the delay was, «the ticket was never recieved.» How this was possible was beyond me, when you consider that I was 1 of 5 people in the restaurant at the time, and the other 4 folks had already been served there meals, Now you would think that this massive screw up would warrant some sort of gracious gesture on their part to keep a patron, right? Like a «sorry Pablo, we’ll comp you the steak» or «we’ll take something off of the bill.» Well it didn’t! Instead what I got was a refill on a beer, which I didn’t ask for and a bill for $ 32 for the steak and beer. Outrageous! I will give them a star for the steak, which was pretty decent once it finally arrived.
