Went into the Hudson News at Terminal eight and the entire time I was there the cashier, Bibi, watched me as if I were a criminal. Horrible expefrience

Like every Hudson News, there’s nothing you need here and it’s all overpriced, but yet you’ll find you buy things. The shop is clean and tidy and the lone member of staff was pleasant. We wanted a drink before our flight so grabbed a couple of bottles and got in the queue — which was absurdly long. We easily waited 10 minutes as there was only one person on the register, and she was slow because of all the upselling she had to do. Plus there wasn’t really anywhere in the shop to queue, probably to get you to impulse buy more. But hey, airport people are a captive audience and we just all stood there without complaint.

This is the most modern Hudson News outpost you’ll find anywhere at JFK. From the outside, you’d almost think it’s a Southern California surf shop and not a place to pick up GQ mags or the latest edition of the New York Times. On these long flights I tend to drop a little too much cash on magazines, but hey — it’s one of the only times I get a chance to turn my phone off and get lost in the moment. Also being a big gum chewer, they sell bulk gum for cheaper than almost every other location in the area. Oh, and I dropped a $ 20 on the floor and the lovely woman behind the counter alerted me before I walked off. Make that woman Employee of the Month!
