Rude help, dirty, cramped, dark bare-bones place. Surprised they still exist in such a great location. I love fresh bagels and still opt for a hard Starbucks one on the same block.

Absolutely horrible, I waited over an hour for simple breakfast food and they only came with half the order. If you own a deli or bagel place and you have busy times hire more people to deliver

Meh. Came here on a Saturday afternoon to get myself a bagel. Not wanting to walk too far, this was my best bet. The place is your typical bagel shop– small, limited seating. I ordered a basic plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese. The guys who work here are so rude. They are very curt and demeaning, almost. They really need to work on their people skills. Yikes. The prices are stupidly expensive. $ 4.36 for a plain bagel with cream cheese? Excuse me?! Now I would have forgiven most of what I experienced had the bagel been amazing. But it wasn’t. It was, I would say, average. Nothing special, but delicious all the same. The strawberry cream cheese, though is a different story. I literally could not even taste the strawberry. There was a lone strawberry in the cream cheese which was the only thing that provided any semblance of strawberry. I won’t be coming back here, as bagel shops are a dime a dozen, but if you’re in the west village and you’re looking for convenience and not for quality customer service, I guess this is your best bet?

A Solid 3. Good, not terrible. A classic no frills bagel shop. This isn’t your transplant-hipster bagel spot. Small selection of bagels which makes me feel as if they probably not baked on premises as well as a small CC selection. I ordered a BEC on an everything and was quite pleased. An ordinary BEC with slices of crispy bacon. Cheese was lacking though. Side note: To those who constantly complain about lengthy delays in bagel delivery all I have to say is to stop your damn crying! Who even orders from a bagel store?! Its NYC! Get off your lazy a$$ and walk. Ok back to the review, I’d say try it out if you pass by otherwise you really wont miss out on anything special.

Ordered food for deliver, called 1hr 30minutes later asking about it. Said they delivered it even thought I do not have my order. Told me he wouldn’t redeliver. Guess I just gat the deliver guy a $ 20 tip and free food. Won’t order from here again.

I stopped here for a toasted everything bagel with scallion cream cheese(and by some hilarious cosmic connection, a girl stopped in a minute after me and ordered the exact same thing, confusing the guy behind the counter just a little bit). The bagel was fine — not amazing, but also better than most we get in California — and the scallion cream cheese was really good. I also appreciated that the spread wasn’t ridiculously thick(because who needs that?) Service was pretty basic — not terribly friendly, but speedy and I was out of there quickly.

Bagels are good not great. But man the workers there need some help in customer service. First time I went there I asked for over medium eggs. «Yeah man I got you» he says. How does it come out? Scrambled. No sorry no apology. He just looks at me like it’s my fault. Ok next time I say lets do over medium eggs not scrambled. Next time same story. I ask very carefully for over medium eggs. I ask multiple times. Customers are looking at me like I’m some egg nazi. He doesn’t say anything no confirmation of my request nothing. How does it come out? Scrambled. At this point he could have just said I’m sorry. But he just looks at me like I punched him in the face. Yeah we all make mistakes but what pisses me off about this situation is this guy’s attitude. When I’m telling him how I like my bagels and eggs it’s like he has this attitude of «yeah I know what I’m doing so don’t even tell me how you like your bagels…» At this point it’s not about how I like my eggs it’s about customer service. Try a little to feel apologetic that you messed instead of making me feel like I was at fault. CUSTOMERSERVICE dude. All it takes is a «sorry about that» or «I’m sorry». But don’t just sit there and look at me like like its my fault. Update: Wow. I just read some of the other reviews and it seems this place has a customer service problem. It’s a friggn bagel shop. It doesn’t take much to serve a bagel with some class and not give customers attitude.

The bagels are good, a little expensive. I get the price structure, the rents in the West Village are through the roof. But $ 1.80 for a side of jelly… are you kidding me!!! That’s the reason for a 3 star rating, otherwise it would have been a 4 star rating. BTW2 weeks ago they charge me $.50 for a side of jelly.

This place knows how to make a sandwich. We grabbed breakfast here before spending the day in the West Village. My sister had a ham bagel while I have mine with bacon egg and cheese. They make their own bread and bagels and it could not be more satisfying. They really pile on the meat and the cream cheese too. Heads up, they want you to know what you want right away. If you don’t please let another guest go first. They take cash and a debit card. It is super tiny and not dine in. It is Was really hot in Sept so I’d imagine it’d be really cold in the winter.

I work nearby and finally tried this place out after seeing my colleague getting bagels from here often. I got a sesame whole wheat bagel, toasted, with scallion cream cheese, lox, cucumber, and red onion. They are quite stingy with their ingredients, except for cream cheese. i was a bit hesitant to get lox because it didn’t look 100% fresh, but I took the risk since I was craving it really badly. There is literally only three slices of lox, three super thin slices of cucumber, and a quarter size of red onion slices. The bagel bread is also very soft and chewy. Not impressed.

This place is fast and cheap but it definitely doesn’t stand up to New York bagels status. They’re a little soft chewy. But the guys are nice.

Not sure about West Village(still exploring the neighborhood), but definitely better bagels to be had in the city. Very disappointed in the flavor, texture and quality.

The everything whole wheat bagel is to die for! We often eat ours with egg and bacon on it and wouldn’t change a thing! Service is great just to top things off!

A few of my friends raved that this is one of the better bagels in NYC, but I didn’t think it was anything special. Don’t get me wrong, compared to the bagels of Philadelphia and South Jersey, it’s probably a step above, but all in all it was ok. The shop itself is very small and can get pretty crowded with only a few people inside. The people running the place can be a bit pushy if you take too long to order. Aside from bagels, they offer a variety of bagel sandwich options as well. Price wise the bagels and drinks were reasonable by NYC standards. Again, I wouldn’t go out of my way for this place, but it sure beats a chain store breakfast if you are in the area.

One of the best bagels I’ve had in the city, crunchy on the outside and nice and soft in the middle. I couldn’t even tell which was the top or bottom on my bagel. Quick service and very nice location!

Love this place. Has become a go-to for iced coffee and bagels, and priced well for west village. The gets: — Iced Coffee. Not bitter and cold without too much ice. — Bagels. All of them are good, but whole wheat, everything and 7-grain are particular solid. Not flat but not too fluffy, good consistency and well sized. — Breakfast Sandwiches. Crispy bacon(without being stingy) and sausage patties are both good additions. Egg is well cooked every time. Best part is the people are nice. You get a good bagel shop without much seating here. No frills but food is very good and reasonably priced.

Hudson Bagels is not for the faint of heart, consider this a warning label, you will be most likely mishandled, there will be eye rolling and not sure your order will be completely right. As for their merch it is nice but not great, ok bagels, nice spreads and fresh veggies. So why the 4 stars then? maybe because we are in New York and lately I’ve been feeling the city is lacking some reality checks. So a nice bagel sandwich at a reasonable price without much fuss to take out and enjoy at the not so distant hudson park is all I need. So wear your thick skin, don’t be too touchy, come over and you might even get a smile with your bread.

I’m not much of a bagel fan, because I’ve been told the bread in a bagel is equivalent to eating(4) slices of regular bread. But. having stopped at Hudson’s on a food/walking tour — I was blown away, with how good this bagel actually was. It was seasoned just right, just the right size, just the right fluffy to chewy texture ratio, and the cream cheese was phenomenal. I now know why these New Yorkers are always sticking their noses up at my beloved Panera bagels. I wouldn’t have eaten there either, if I had known there was such a delicious«real-deal» bagel out there waiting for me.

Doughy and chewy, and NOT gigantic, which lessens the(mostly female) guilt factor in eating one. Scallion cream cheese was delicious, and they will scoop out a bagel, and toast it, unlike the snobs at Murray’s Bagels. Little neighborhood spot.

Everything bagels including salt — thank you! It drives me nuts that so many places leave that topping off of «everything.» Slather on a shmear of super fresh cream cheese, and you’ve made me a happy gal. Really good bagels.
