$ 6 for a pretty decent side breakfast with 2 eggs, «home fries», and meat. $ 5 for a breakfast sandwich is pricy, but you are in the heart of NYC. For the proximity to Port Authority, speed of service, and value. I highly suggest this place for a quick breakfast before heading out of the city.

My smoked turkey bagel sandwich with provolone cheese was excellent. I would also praise the large oatmeal with three toppings. This place was packed so more seating would have been nice but not necessary since I ate my sandwich in transit.

Plain bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon was sooo good! My picky teenage daughter liked her bagel with cream cheese too, which says a lot. Would go back again.

First, the stores not even called this anymore. It’s something about the bus terminal which isn’t appetizing. However, once you get past the name you’re all good. The place is bright and spotless. The two people working(or owners?) we’re super friendly and helpful.

This location is great, food is always fresh and delivery is very quick. Sometimes there is a small mistake in the order, but they fix very quickly. Staff super friendly. BEST Coffee

This place was pretty good. My brother and I stopped here around 11:15pm after watching the 4th of July fireworks. We got 2 Italian wraps(that came with 2 bags of chips), 2 Arizona ice teas, and 1 Snapple for $ 17 and change. I thought that was pretty decent considering the area we were in and the time. The food was yummy and just what we needed.

Came here for breakfast a long time ago and I wouldn’t recommend it. Last week I decided to go back, but this time for lunch. Ordered a shrimp pasta where they make it in front of you, and I really enjoyed it. I guess I was expecting a bland dish, but it ended up being pretty good. Place has some seating in the back, and it’s never crowded.

All I wanted was a decent New York bagel. This should’ve been an easy task, but as it turned out, I was thrust on some sort of anticlimactic journey from hell that led me to Hot & Crusty. In short, after spending an hour and a half on a dead-end search for bagels somewhere near Port Authority(as I had to catch a bus to DC – also known as one of the biggest bagel deserts on the East Coast) I found myself starving, unable to find an ATM, and about ready to pounce on snacking passersby – basically I was starting to understand why New Yorkers are so pissed all the time. And then I gave in and made my way into Hot & Crusty, which accepts credit cards and offers bagels and bagel sandwiches. The place itself is rather dismal. The décor is straight out of the late 1970s and it clearly has not seen a mop or broom since. The staff, however, is relatively friendly. The menu is expansive, offering everything from pizza to bagels to paninis to pastries to Chinese, yes even Chinese(I’m not so sure how good it is, but it’s here). Did I mention there was no air conditioning in Hot & Crusty(thus it was hot and crust) and I had been lugging around 50lbs of luggage? In any case, I went for a breakfast bagel sandwich on a plain bagel(might as well have been a grocery store bagel) and egg and cheese(American cheese – an Old Standard). I asked for tomato too, but that was forgotten. The sandwich, all in all, was actually a decent and cheap fast food breakfast bagel. Clearly a step up from Micky D’s, but nowhere near the New York bagel I was dreaming of. I also took a mozzarella, tomato, and basil panini to go. This was actually pretty good and held up on the bus(although not as cheap as the bagel sandwich). Bottom line, would I go back? You know, I would. There’s something comforting about cheap and easy food that is apathetically prepared and served in an orange-mirrored 70s throwback with broken booths that feels comforting and warm in a kitschy way. So if your hungry and near Port Authority and have a special place in your heart for dive joints, give it a go.

Hot & Crusty sounds like some sort of bi-coastal squatter-punk dating service. «I like your patches too…» But, I digress. Do yourself a favor and grab a tuna-melt panini for your next long-haul Greyhound schlep. You’ll be glad you did, ’cause you’ll spend the next few hours with a full belly… and an empty seat next to you. Works like magic! Note: Something with onions also helps secure that extra pesky seat…

I am so glad Hot & Crusty was a stone’s throw from our hotel! We discovered it the first day on our trip and pretty much became loyal patrons immediately for the rest of our stay. We had 3 picky people in our group and H&C satisfied us all. The had everything: pasta, pizza, breakfast, sandwiches, soup, salad, stir fry, dessert, pastries… and it was all really good! And super affordable. We were on a serious food budget and this place fit right in. I particularly liked the pasta and salad. Everything was made fresh and to order. You could choose from a varirety of fresh ingredients. There were standard dishes made up but I enjoyed adding fresh veggies. The staff was super friendly. Everyone was nice and patient with us. Sometimes the pace in NYC can be pretty rushed, but I never felt rushed here. If we go again, and as long as Phish plays MSG we will, H&C will be the spot for us to fuel up before the show.

Yum! Tried the pepperoni calzone and the broccoli and cheese. So good! Food is delicious and service is good. I would definitely come here again. They have lots of variety with sandwiches, pastries, and coffee on the other side. This is a one stop shop for whatever you’re in the mood for with pretty decent pricing.

We popped by for some bagels to go. The service was incredibly fast. I rattled off four different unique bagel orders. They fried the eggs, toasted the bagels, and got every order perfect, in a few short minutes. Delicious on our last morning in NYC, when we «had to have a NY bagel».

************* REVIEW195 **************** Came by for a quick breakfast since the Starbuck line was around the corner. Typical deli in Manhattan, they serve breakfast, lunch & dinner. The food was all fresh baked as I ordered«Ham, Cheese Croissant» for only $ 3.75, all breakfast are under $ 6. The place is simple, quick service & cheap!

This is a fabulous, kind of dirty dirty dive, essential new york spot that offers 24 hours of: Paninis Deli sandwiches made to order Mexican food Chinese food Burgers Italian plates Steaks Pizza Bakery The posted menu is just a hodge podge of clashing tastes, and all are executed right there behind the glass counter. Tables are sparse & not wiped often. But the slices are fantastic. They’re 1.50 for cheese, plus extra for toppings. This was like finding gold when we arrived at our hotel about 1:30 a.m. Napkins are doled out sparingly, but are given with plenty of ny attitude!

I don’t really like the name of this establishment. In fact, it disturbs me. However, this place is very close to my office, so when I was sending the boyfriend back to Chicago *sob*, we stopped in. Unfortunately, the dining area is definitely outfitted like a clown’s bathroom(bright orange, purple and pink tiles) sans the clown toilet. Overall, the food is cheap and fast. It’s a good place to grab a bite to eat or to bid farewell to your sweetheart, before you send them off on the Airport Express out of the Port Authority.

I think we stopped by to grab something to eat at Hot & Crusty almost everyday i was in NY. Easy, convenient, and cheap. This place really hit the spot each time we came. I tried most of their pizzas. Mushroom, bacon and mushroom, mushroom and spinach, etc. They all did not disappoint. Each slice was approximately $ 2.00. They also have a build-your-own salad station. You choose between 2 different greens and then you have a wide array of selections in what you want to add i.e. corn, grilled chicken, carrots. Once you choose your add-ons you pick your dressing and they mix it all together in a bowl for you. Then they throw everything in a salad bowl so you can conveniently take it on the go. To top it off, they have a pasta station in the back. You can build your own pasta or go with something that’s already on the menu. I didn’t see anyone get pasta each time I was there but I was eyeing the spinach and shrimp marinara pasta. It was our goal to get that before we left for JFK but unfortunately we woke up too late. I loved this place. It was convenient and consistent. I was never disappointed and I always finished my food wanting more. Closes late and opens early.
