I’m a big fan of the Arby’s chain(roast beef and curly fries) and being from NYC, I rarely have the opportunity to go. Thus, I was excited to hear about the NYC location. Positives: –dining area is relatively clean but keep in mind the restaurant is 1 – 2 months old only –for all the late eaters, they are opened late(until midnight on most nights) –they have the jukebox soda fountain machine which gives you more combinations when you refill soda –roast beef is delicious, as it normally is as other Arby chains; same with the curly fries –fish is surprisingly good –there is a counter where sauce packets are available, in case you are a fan of the arby’s or horsey sauce –fulfillment time is relatively fast; they seemed to be an excessive number of folks working –there are electronic outlets at most of the tables and charging your devices seemed to be encouraged Negatives: –Bathrooms, at least during my visit, were not clean(you need a code) –Ordering line was OK(I went during the evening times). There are 2 registers but usually only one person is working –Given its proximity to Port Authority, there seemed to be a couple of homeless people/loiterers in the restaurant Tips: –Join the Arby’s mailing list from their website. You are sent via email coupons, such as BOGO fish or free soda and fries when you purchase fish. These coupons actually DO work at the Manhattan location. In addition, since they are electronic you can use more than once

This is the first time I’ve even been an Arby’s. The only thing I know about it is how Jon Stewart would make fun of them all the time. I figured I owed it to myself to check them out. I had a regular sized roast beef and cheddar sandwich and it was disgusting! On the plus side, it was only disgusting, and not revolting. The RB tasted like bologna mixed with rubber, the cheese was bitter and nasty. The bun was fine. The food was definitely one star, but the folks behind the counter were super-nice, so I bumped it up to two stars for that, but I will never, ever go back.

Ok. I am an Arby’s addict. I love Arby’s. I can eat soooo much Arby’s. So you can imagine my reaction knowing there would be an Arby’s in Manhattan!!! There is only one other in the entire city… and it is out in queens. So yes, Arby’s right in the smack middle of Manhattan! What!!! Exactly. So I had to go. I ordered my beef and cheddar meal. The classic Arby’s best of. Curly fries, a beef and cheddar sandwich and a drink. Check out. Annnnnnd… NOARBYSAUCE!!! They ran out! An Arby’s without Arby’s sauce is not Arby’s!!! They should have prepared for the onslaught of people eating all the Arby’s sauce and had much more on hand. The staff were nice enough to give me a little cup of red ranch sauce instead… but let’s be real. I want that beef n cheddar slathered in Arby’s sauce. It is how it must be eaten! This location is not as great and delicious as the queens location. I will be honest and say, they didn’t stuff the beef n cheddars, the bread was a little powdery tasting, but if it had Arby’s sauce, most likely it would have still done the trick. They do have fancy soda machines though! Like browsing an iPad for drinks… You can add flavors to every cola etc. enjoy! Staff also promised that never again would there be an Arbys sauce shortage. So please check it out and hold them accountable!

Disclaimer: I scored a free year’s worth of Arby’s for being one of the first 50 in line on opening day, but this is my honest and unbiased review. I would say that Arby’s probably is tops on my list of fast food. Some how their meat seems more real than what you’d get at a burger joint. I went on the NYC meat tour they had before the grand opening, and surprisingly I actually prefer the arby’s meat over the samples I had from Katz and Ottomanelli’s. I like how the roast beef is sliced so thin and tender. I’m also a huge fan of the Arby’s sauce and horsey sauce. The seasoned curly fries are also awesome.

Let me tell you a story about my visit to Arby’s. I ordered the French Dip & Swiss sandwich(which comes with sauce to dip on the side) along with the curly fries and a drink. My girlfriend ordered the turkey wrap and no fries thinking she would be conservative and healthy(whatever that means in an Arby’s). Cut to ten minutes later and she’s grabbing my curly fries one after another like it was going out of style. I tried to reach the fries three times and her hand kept shooting in front of mine. Suddenly, another order of fries appeared in between us and it was the manager! He said something to the effect of «You seemed to really like them so here’s another.» That about sums up how awesome this place is. I haven’t had Arby’s in years, but after a long absence from Manhattan, they recently returned to the Times Square area(near Port Authority). This location is bright, welcoming and definitely fits into the«theme restaurant» trope that permeates so much of the area. The interior has tons of wood and there are regular tables and bar style seating near the front windows. The area where you order is in the back along with the rest rooms. In between the seating area and the cashiers are the fixings and modern Pepsi machines like the Coke machines in AMC theaters where you mix your own drink. The sandwich I had was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. It does approach that edge of being too salty, but it doesn’t dive off the cliff. It sounds funny to say, but the curly fries are the most addicting thing about the meal. I’m not sure what addictive substance is in them, but I could have eaten two more orders of them that night alone. The fries have a great texture(crisp on the outside, soft on the inside) and you don’t really need to dip them in anything. They’re great on their own. So welcome back to Manhattan Arby’s, you’ve been missed!

I’m a long-term fan of Arby’s, visiting their restaurants for more than 20 years now. I’m very happy to see an Arby’s back in Manhattan, where I live! The restaurant has a nice décor, but it is small. You might have trouble finding a seat. The food followed Arby’s standards, however I noticed a smaller amount of cheddar in my Beef N Cheddar sandwich, when comparing to other locations. The restaurant was clean though, considering they are right by Port Authority station. Bathroom was clean too(surprised they even have one!).

I know, I know. As a good New Yorker in supposed to turn my nose up and mutter something about this being the kind of place ruining NY. I really know it’s true. And yet there’s something delightful about being able to come get roast beef that runs laps around your average fast food burger, curly fries(piping hot) and a drink for under $ 6. Especially in the barren food landscape that is the stretch of 8th Ave between Times Square and Penn Station. And especially, especially in light of the recent demise of Roy Rogers just down the way. I know the place won’t stay sparkly clean for long. I know the curly fries won’t always be fried to crisp perfection like they were tonight. I sure as heck hope they fare better here with their first health inspection than Chick-Fil-A just did last week. All that being said, I’m pretty happy this place is here for a quick and cheap bit of comfort food after work. And then I’ll hit up my local bodega for a sandwich tomorrow to do penance to the«keep it local» mantra.

It’s an arby’s, albeit a brand new one. There are obviously a lot better roast beef places, especially for the price. The sliders are a good deal though at 1.63 for one. There are other fast food places that I prefer or even heavily prefer.

Brand new restaurant to hit Times Square. Very clean and front staff very helpful and smooth ordering process. Lots of sit down space. Check out the new Pepsi machines. Prices will be good for families. As tables empty they have tables being cleaned. Brisket combo with drink and fries less than 10.00. Check them out.

It’s great to have another fast food chain(if you must) other than McDonald’s in the Times Square Area. The offer a great variety of sandwiches and even have breakfast. Though it can get quite crowded in here they are pretty fast and efficient. It’s pretty much a take and go kind of place because of the small eating areas.

Nice clean space and the staff seem to be working to get you in and out. The sandwich I got was the turkey bacon and it was tasty. I could have used more bacon but I do love the swine. Its close to my job so I will be back. HOWEVER!!! I will agree with a comment below… Arby’s DONOTSKIMP on curly fires??? That’s a cardinal NONONONO and whats the point. If a person orders a medium and/or large fry that’s what they should get… NOT a med or large container with an order of small fry in it? Must do better in this area

OPENINGDAY! I am so glad to finally have an Arby’s close to home; now I don’t have to take long subway rides or beg friends with cars to go on small«road-trips.» Unfortunately, the prices are a little high if you want a complete meal: $ 12 for a large sandwich with a large soda & a large side; for only a couple more dollars you could go to a real restaurant with service, etc. But, for me, since I have a lifelong soft-spot for Arby’s, I can definitely see myself coming here at least once a month forever — though, at this price it is no longer just a «guilty pleasure» but a «special treat.»

It’s finally here! A full-sized, eat-in Arby’s on 40th and 8th! You’ve gotta love all their options for sandwiches and salads… but the true magic lies in the Roast Beef Sandwich. Smother it in Arby’s Sauce and Horsey Sauce for the full experience… and a little extra on the side for dipping. Throw in some Curly Fries and a Jomocha Shake and you’ve got yourself something truly special. Yeah, it’s fast food and no, it’s not a New York original… but who the hell cares? It’s good food, fast. At reasonable prices. It doesn’t get much better than Arby’s.
