We had our wedding at Home Studios in October, and overall things went really well. Cody was the only person we dealt with and he was always friendly, and while he sometimes took a couple days to get back to me if I had a question or needed something clarified(I didn’t have much, just a few things leading up to the wedding), I always got a definitve answer and things ended up as expected. As you can see in the photos, the space itself is gorgeous and open, which we loved. We had them put up the paper lanterns, and other than centerpieces and candles, we didn’t add any other decorations. Between the one big exposed brick wall, and then the two walls of huge windows with sheer white curtains, and the two beautiful kitchens, you really don’t need anything else, although I’m sure if you wanted to send a decorator in and have them go to town, it would work as well. The building it’s in is nice and modern, and the entrance and elevator are clean and well kept. The entrance to Home Studios is right in front of the elevator, so if you have guests coming in, they won’t be wandering the halls looking for it. Like one other reviewer mentioned, it’s very«New York-y» which really impressed our out of town guests(mostly NJ and CT). We set up the bar in the front kitchen area(the island with the grill removed worked out well), had had our 36 guests at two long tables in the southeast corner of the space. If you’re planning to set up tables here the same way, we had two 24′ tables set up parallel to the brick wall and it fit well in the space — I only mention that because I was a little concerned if the tables would fit because the wall along Broadway is angled(of course!) but it worked out perfectly. We used the in-house sound system, and it sounded great. There was a little hiccup where the sound sytem had to be restarted, but I think I’m the only one who noticed that the music went off.(I had spent like, a month building those playlists!) It was fixed quickly though. I was going to take off one star for this issue, but that seemed harsh so I’ll just mention it here: We were contractuatually obligated to work with a a party rental place that they specify.(If you want, you can go read my review of that company, I wrote it a couple of weeks ago.) I understand why they would do that(that company and their delivery guys know the building/freight elevator, maybe they get a kickback, whatever.) If I had known that the rental company they had chosen was one of the most difficult companies to work with, I would have tried to convince Home Studios to let me use a different company, but by the time I realized how terrible they were, it was too late to even try. This issue wouldn’t keep me from using Home Studios again, but I would certainly try to use a different rental company because it was such a nightmare that I’m over here mentioning it on this review. Just something I think ya’ll should know.

I would highly recommend Home Studios to anyone! I was lucky enough to be able to use the space for a bridal shower & the event was a huge success. Thanks to John & David, all arrangements were handled with ease. They are both a pleasure to work with. The space is spectacular, and has two fully functioning & beautiful kitchens. It was great to have a back kitchen where the behind the scenes set up can be done, and the front kitchen is brand new and beautiful. The space is perfectly decorated for any event. We simply added some balloons and flowers, and it was transformed into an elegant party scene. There are not enough good things to say about our experience at Home Studios. Truly as good as it gets!

I can’t say enough good things about this space and its manager Carlos! After searching all over for a perfect place for our 70-person November wedding, we knew this was perfect. Gorgeous and elegant, yet has a comfortable feeling. Refreshingly and fairly priced. And dealing with Carlos is a pleasure. Carlos put us at ease from the start and is one of the reasons we chose this space. He’s so patient, helpful, and — I must say — kind. Never pushy like other rental managers. Always quick with a complete answer, no matter how many questions we emailed! He answered our vendors’ emails and arranged for them to preview the space. He was there to quietly help during the wedding and with cleanup. The loft’s incredibly convenient location and«non-scary» neighborhood were appreciated by our small-town guests. They loved the«quintessential New York» experience of being in a high-ceiling loft. Neutral in a great way; you can do anything with it(or leave it as-is and it doesn’t feel naked). The paper globe ceiling lanterns can be dimmed for just the right atmosphere. There are well-placed hookups into the BOSE speakers tactically placed in the ceiling, so we could connect an iPod and get fabulous sound. (Their site has more event photos and a layout diagram.) Highly, highly recommended.
