Local place that I patronize. Likes fresh vegetables and fruits. No powders. Dislikes. Store is small, as in tiny, and when it’s crowded I don’t want to be there. It is also often in need of a cleaning. They have a more limited selection of fruits and veggies but the price is a little less than some other juice places.

Basic juice bar, but with mostly fresh, non-processed & non-additive(sugar) & non-packaged products. The fresh vegetable & fruit juices are pretty good, but sometimes they seem a little limited on which fruits or vegetables they have at the time. They seem to carry a lot of the basics, like spinach, kale & cucumber, but tend to be out of other stuff — beets, carrots, red apple, etc. Overall, though, a good place with prices that are not too expensive. I prefer the Financial District location as opposed to the other two locations — Midtown East & West.

So I was exhausted after all the walking down the Brooklyn bridge and was desperately looking for a mid afternoon protein fix and found this place. It’s very close to the bridge and is located in an interesting neighborhood in the downtown. The place is tiny, no where to sit. Just order your stuff, pay and leave. I like that they have different kinds of protein powder from different makers, so you have an option to choose in case you have a preference. You can mix and match fruits and veggies of your choice. They have four sizes available. I paid $ 7 for an 8oz drink. The guy behind the counter is friendly and the service is fast.

Love this place for all its healthy options! The kale pineapple mango is delicious! I am totally obsessed! The store is small and can get crowded, but the service is fast and friendly!

This place was my absolute go-to during a week of juicing that I did. Located right in the middle of Fidi, it provides a healthy alternative in the midst of a sea of unhealthy but delicious food. My only qualm with the place is it’s really small and gets a bit claustrophobic if there are more than 3 people in there, but other than that, it’s perfect. They have every vegetable and fruit you can think of which are used to make juices and smoothies. The prices are also pretty decent for the amount that you get. A large size juice or smoothie is definitely the best value. Both employees crank the juices out at a steady pace so you’re never in there for more than five minutes. Juices are also well mixed. I find that no one fruit or vegetable is over bearing or over used. Some places show no care regarding portion control and completely ruin the juice, this place consistently makes a perfectly mixed juice that tastes great. This is definitely the best juice & smoothie place in the area. Stamina, another place close by, makes juices and smoothies as well. However, there’s are poorly mixed with some ingredients overpowering the rest of the drink. Health King is definitely the way to go!

Everytime I am walking around and looking for a really good green juice alternative to frozen yogurt i end up here. From the fresh kale ginger beets and carrots that can be juiced in seconds, to the wheatgrass shots, you just cant beat this place if you want to get your fix of health in the form of a green juice. The place always has the freshest looking selection of veggies ready to be juiced on the spot. And for $ 4 dollars you can try a very good Spinach, Beet and Carrot Juice combo drink that will knock your socks off.

This was the worst smoothie that I have ever had in my life! I drank half of it and then threw the rest in the garbage. And the half that I did drink i forced. I got a basic strawberry and banana, very simple and it tasted horrible! I don’t know if it was the type of yogurt they put in or if it was even yogurt who knows! Ive had smoothies from many different places and i even make them myself at home and I have never tasted anything like this. I would definitely not recommend coming here. There is a stamina directly across the street with way better tasting drinks.

I go for the yogurt, tastes fresh and healthy without a lot of chemicals and additives. But who really knows … Chocolate and vanilla, tastes more like soft serve than yogurt!

I like this place — it smells healthy! I usually don’t drink juice/smoothie. But this past weekend I had to go on a liquid diet(no, I don’t believe in juice cleanse) since I had a surgery to remove my wisdom teeth(ouch!). I also not a huge fan of yogurt so I need a juice/smoothie supply that is close to my apartment. There are about 4 – 5 different places I could go for it. But I found Health King to be the best — good quality, made to order fresh juice/smoothie and reasonably priced. They open till 10pm on week days and 9 pm on weekend. My papaya pineapple frosty is tasty. I think would stop by for some juicy delish even I am not on liquid diet any more.

The following phrases bother me: «raw diet» «juicing»(as an intransitive verb)(or, verbal noun)(or gerund)(whatever) «liquid fast» Yeah yeah, I’m full of judgements. Our bodies give us awesome things, why respond with ill-researched and shallowly rationalized fad diets? …That said, I admit«green juice» is pretty tasty. And I enjoy drinking unnaturally green things in general(absinthe included, so you know this is true color-based insanity). Health King is as no-frills as you can get for a lifestyle that comes packaged in «systems.» I’d walked past a hundred times and always thought it was some hole-in-the-wall hot dog place(like Papaya King, to give you a sense of the décor). It’s not. They have a ton of fruits and veggies on display for your pulverizing pleasure — just MOUNTAINS of kale — as well as full smoothie-making capabilities. They’re no better or cheaper than anywhere else, really. For green juices and smoothies, you can also try Stamina( ), Magic Mix( ), Long Island Bagel Café( ), even the local Key Food( ), all just steps away, at the same $ 7-ish for a pitifully small cup. The good(and only distinctive) part about Health King is that it’s grungier than it is trendy, and you can watch them shove your chosen greens into the juicer right after you order.

Worst smoothiie I ever had! A small cost $ 7 and was not even cold, very thick and did not taste of fruit and I ordered banana, mango and papaya! The guy recommended a no carb protein power and fat free yoghurt. It was so disugusting I threw it away and bought a soup from Aroma instead. One thing I didn’t understand is that I never saw the guy using the blender — it’s like it was already made. Won’t be going there again for my smoothies!

Got a papaya banana smoothie here and it was pretty tasty. I like how they give you the option of yogurt or ice when ordering as well. A bit on the pricey side but quick service and a nice morning boost on the way to the office.

This place just smells like fresh fruits and vegetables when you walk in, which is a great sign. Take a deep breath. Your body will thank you for what you’re about to taste. Whenever I have a tough day or am recovering from a rough weekend, I make a trip over to this smoothie place that’s only 3 blocks from my apartment. In a city that’s full of unhealthy options, it’s nice to know that there are places like this still around. There are a lot of different options to choose from and you can tell the fruit is fresh. They even have wheatgrass on the side that is still growing — they cut it from the root when they need to put it in a drink! Lots of options for fruits and vegetables with 4 different size options. Also an option for yogurt versus ice in the smoothie. This place is actually quite pricey(7 dollars for a medium size smoothie which honestly looks like a small!) but it’s always nice to treat yourself every once in awhile. Definitely recommended.

Came in here one Friday morning after a hard night out. This place has a large menu of options. After patiently studying the menu the very friendly staff quickly made me something to re-hydrate and get me back on my feet. While there are other options in the area for smoothies this places does do just juices as well. Excellent place that knows their stuff.

It’s 8AM and I’m feeling fabulous! Perhaps because this morning’s stroll through FiDi included a pitstop at Health King for a freshly made green juice. We’re lucky to live in a city like NYC where juice bars line every street, but Health King’s ridiculously long list of available ingredients plus the menu with the health benefits of each type of vegetable and mineral make it stand out a bit from the rest. Though I knew what I wanted before walking in the door, the man at the the helm seemed to know his stuff had I needed a rec. Unlike a lot of the stands, Health King has a few different sizes from which to choose. The medium 16oz juice is $ 7. If you’re not used to juicing, that price tag may seem a bit hefty, but it’s the going rate unless of course you’re going the branded route in which case it’s a steal. The only downside? The Godiva across the street.

$ 8 for a large drink with as many ingredients as you want can be good or bad depending on how you think of it. I was craving a smoothie and a Health King just happened to pop up in front of me. I had a chocolate myoplex with a banana, strawberries, blueberries and peanut butter. Thought it was good, but a little more than I’d normally pay at a GNC or café that makes smoothies.

I am a hardcore juicer and run the blog. I travel a lot with my job and always find it difficult to get a real freshly extracted green juice each day. Health King is very near our New York City office and I was like a kid in a candy store in there. Sure it is pricey but to get these amounts of nutrients and minerals in your system first thing in the morning is priceless. If you are working in the Financial District I would recommend checking it out. They offer so many different combinations — can’t beat it!

Large Juice came up to $ 8.00 + –____– It was very good though. I don’t know which vegetable one I selected, but I know I paid more money for the carrot added It was a little concerned because the«vegetable mix» is kind of unknown. I mean you know it’s vegetables, but you don’t know which ones… Oh well, everything tastes good and I began my 3 day juice fast here. $$$

$ 7 for a small juice is a little bit pricey, but man it is good! I had the carrot-beet-apple-spinach juice, which was recommended to me by the guy who works there. the taste was good, but the best part is that you feel like you are doing something good for your body while drinking it. unlike jamba juice(which i am also a fan of) health king only uses fresh fruits and veggies, unless you asked them to add protein powder or other mixes to it. you can get pretty funky w it, as some juices have parsley or garlic in them. i live not far from here, so i will definitely be back. or I will get my own juicer…
