Look it’s Harbor freight, it’s the weekend fixer upper dream, I wouldn’t use these tools if I had a construction company but for us regular guys Chicago electric and Pittsburgh tools is right for us, it’s all Chinese cheaply made stuff but good enough for home projects and a incredible price

I went in here with a list of items needed to refinish an old, hardwood floor in a closet of a my apartment. First floor rep just vaguely points to the stairs and says someone else will help me. Okay. Upstairs there was no one to help the various groups of people looking at tools. My friend asked another floor rep to come up. We waited a bit and he came. Without even asking for the square footage or type of work I would be doing, he told me that I could not use any of the sanders. The work would be too hard for someone like me. FYI– I am a woman. WTF. The dude actually laughed. I had spoken with an actual flooring specialist, had him see the spot and go over the list. At no point was there any talk of it being too much, or too hard. This Harbor Freight person looked at me, the sanders(all someone of almost any size could hold), and was incredulous to the idea. So, yeah, I bought nothing there. Since then, I have started just throwing out their advertisements left for my building. Bring back the old car dealership that used to be there. I don’t even want to look at that place.

Dear Harbor Freight, you came to Brooklyn with a lot of fanfare. Your prices for the products that you sell are outstanding. And as a fan of your stores, I am a believer. So, why has it been so hard to staff your stores. Lately it appears as if all your staff suddenly quit and there is not a single soul on the floor. This is a little disconcerting, as the cashier is left holding the proverbial bag when an upset customer is left wandering the store looking for something they can’t find and there isn’t a single soul in the store to help. Not great customer service. I’ve enclosed a few fabulous samples of your empty aisles and no to ask a question of. What gives? Store not doing too well. Lowes up the street proving to be too much completion? It can’t be, your customer base is different. So, why the shortage on the staffing front? Highly confused and very upset with you at the moment.

Tools are useable and affordable. Store is bright, clean, decent stocked. Considering their prices, don’t expect great service or quality. One time I was looking for a large heavy item and James went out of his way to look for it and hauled it out of the basement. He is a young man who did this on his own initiative and was ultra friendly, polite and honest. James had this attitude to everyone. Obviously a hard worker and worth keeping. Thanks James.

I don’t know why I expected this business to be huge which it wasn’t but nonetheless it is a great place to shop for your needs at discounted prices. What I also love are the coupons that I easily found online while waiting to checkout my purchase. Great customer service, Nice store, detailed aisles to find whatever you are searching for

Customer service is terrible! I went to return an unopened item for store credit. I didn’t have my receipt, but entered through the exit and went directly to the cashier. No one else was on line and I explained that I didn’t have a receipt. She said I couldn’t return the item. I asked to speak to the manager(who seems less than adept at the register… He acknowledge being abe to give me credit for the $ 4 item. He explained his reluctance to credit me because the cashier said she did not not see me come into the store with the item. When I approached her, she said, «I don’t remember…» So mjuch for honesty and credibility with the help… I purchased two other items; he checked me out at the register and then never deducted the $ 4 from my bill. I realized ths after leaving the store, called, and had to return later… Lack of trust for a customer to whom they are continually sending mailer and email!

Harbor Freight Tools offers a huge well-organized selection of affordable non-US-made tools. IMO, it’s ideal for a DIY-er’s weekend project but not for someone who makes his living using tools. Remember, you get what you pay for. I recommend checking online buyer reviews before you buy things there. If you’re the kind of shopper who says«so what if it breaks, it’s cheap enough to buy another one» then Harbor Freight is for you. There are coupons in the paper and a free flashlight with purchase, yippee! But watch out at the checkout and examine your receipt carefully… our coupon wasn’t credited and we were charged for the free flashlight. Ugh!
