Happy Science USA

Folks, I don’t really know if there is a «science» to happiness. But I do know I left the Happy Science USA Buddhist Temple full of joy and happiness! I walked in for the first (hopefully not my last) time to meditate before going home one cold Friday evening, late February of 2016. I was pleasantly greeted with smiles, a choice of water or tea, a seat, and a one-​on-​one conversation with Kaiko, that provided insight to the temple and it’s founder. I initially arrived with the feeling I needed to be alone, but was quickly warmed-​up to some guidance in meditation (which I am semi new to) via our conversation and Japanese green tea. My experience in the temple was a peaceful one that allowed me to momentarily transcend and step away from some emotional issues I was dealing with. When I returned to the general area, I met a couple of other staffers and their family. They were so welcoming, we engaged in a most uplifting conversation about mutual interest in health and music! We laughed a lot, and I lost track of time, with the feeling I did not want to leave! When I did, I was very uplifted and feeling happy with light! This was not the intention of those who take care of the temple. I felt it was their genuine interest in others that allowed us to enjoy each other’s presence and spirit!
It is small compared to some temples, but it is big with heart and soul. Don’t come expecting anything I’ve said, we all have different journeys. Just bring yourself, be open and ready for the spirit of goodness. Thank you, Happy Science USA! I will see you again.

Location is nice, pleasant street I walked on– clean at that, which was surprising and awesome.
Saw a sign stating they had meditation and boom I decided to go inside. Wasn’t sure about this place due to the name Happy Science, being a person who disliked science and math in elementary, middle and high school unless it dealt with counting my allowance or clean water, I wasn’t interested.
So thankful for that sign outside or I would’ve never known.
Inside is clean and I will join the workshops, etc. if my schedule permits.
