For takeout Chinese this is the place. Rock bottom prices. No fuss fast delivery. Best of all: as takeout goes, everything is fresh tasting. Even the General Tso’s Chicken has a real hot pepper flavor (not just fat and sugar) and is crisp and light. A small order of green beans is four servings for four dollars. The soups are maybe the best — so cheap and hearty, not too salty. I love the chicken rice.

Best Chinese take/​out food ever. No wonder they’ve been around for over 20 years. I’ve had Chinese take/​out from several places in the tristate area but this one takes the cake. The food always tastes fresh and the sauces are yummy. It’s truly one of a kind. Their delivery is also super fast.
Favorites: Boneless Spare Ribs w/​Pork Fried Rice & Chicken Wing w/​Fried Plantains.

I have been getting chinese food from this spot for over 10 years and I do not plan on stopping. I’ve always been satisfied with their food. It’s good and cheap and they don’t take forever with the delivery time.
It’s definitely a staple in Inwood and I’m glad that they’ve stuck around for so long.

I have been going here for a long time, so has my family that lives in the neighborhood, and we love this place. I moved away, but not too far, so when I’m craving some fast Chinese food I still prefer to come here. The food tastes fresher, and the place is much cleaner looking than other places in upper Manhattan. Definitely give this place a try!

Good thing I drive around in a car for work. Fast, tasty, & cheap. Check, check, check. Owners know me pretty well, too, so I can pretty much make up any order I feel like that may not be on the actual menu. But I read some others have done that before… Damn you, Hang Lee! I thought I was special! Oh well… at least your Chinese food is pretty good-​considering the area.

Easily the worst Chinese food experience I’ve had in my entire life.
— Overcharged on bill
— Wrong type of dumplings. I ordered veggie, got pork
— Staff hardly speak English, dealing with several customers at once
— «Wall of grease» smell in restaurant
— The «healthy» dish had loads of oil
— Food was bland and overcooked
— Small servings of rice
— Extremely slow service
— Loud, chaotic atmosphere
Basically, everything that could be wrong, was. It was terrible even for Inwood.

Never have I had a bad experience with Hang Lee. The chicken with broccoli is amazing, great sliced pork and crispy egg rolls. Always consistent and very fast to deliver. Good job Hang Lee!

The go-​to place in Washington Heights for Chinese food. If you’re getting Chinese food somewhere else in Washington Heights, you either have more money or less taste than those of us relying on Hang Lee. They look like all the other crappy Chinese joints in New York, but are definitely a notch above in terms of quality. They deliver and are affordable. Almost always get the beef fried rice, but every time I’ve gotten something else, it’s been good.

They’ve been around so long ever since I could remember. I dont live in the neighborhood anymore, but every time I go, I make sure I pay them a visit. Their selection on vegetarian food is so fresh and tasty. I am not a vegetarian, but I do enjoy my tofu from time to time and they make delicious tofu.
As far as the other stuff, I don’t eat greasy chinese food, but when my brother ordered, he loved Hang Lee.

This is a storefront Chinese Take out but it has very good selection of Tofu and Veggie dishes. Always cooked fresh. They even have a great selection of diet, no oil, no msg, and steamed dishes. This place never disappoints for take out.

Good ol’ Hang Lee. I used to live 2 buildings down from their door, so I’ve eaten take out from here countless times. Even since I moved 10 blocks north, I still always order from Hang Lee. They have an extensive menu, and if you want something they don’t have, they’ll let you make it up. I used to get tofu with garlic sauce, string beans and watercress. Mmm. Added plus? You can get a side order of tostones (fried plantains) or fried chicken if there are folks not in the mood for Chinese. The tostones work great with Chinese food anyway.

Being vegetarian, my experience is limited to that section of the menu. However, I can say that the food is unbelievably cheap and delivery time is unbelievably fast. As for the food itself, I’ve ordered from Hang Lee more times than I can count and have had only one negative experience, when dinner didn’t exactly agree with me. Ominously, my partner had the same experience the same night, though she didn’t order the same thing as I. Hence the minus one star. Still, Hang Lee remains our go-​to for cheap, fast Chinese delivery in Inwood.
