The food«tastes» DELICIOUS, but the food is as dry as the Sahara Desert! I’ve ordered from here 3 times, and 2 of the times it was that way. Dear Amy: Please cook the food fresh EVERY time or I’ll go somewhere else! Thanks! :)

I used to hate Chinese take out. Everything tasted the same and was too salty and fatty for me. Amy’s has totally changed my world. Truly a gem! Each dish I’ve ordered has been fresh and unique. Don’t get me wrong, you can still get your fix of fried goodies. But the quality is unlike any other Chinese takeout I’ve had in NY. Their kimchee lo mein and Szechuan dumplings are seriously something special. Definitely support Amy’s!

Very nice people! Great service. Food is genuine and delicious. Not the most beautiful interior. Try the Malaysian dishes or curry dishes.

Decent Chinese food for Washington Heights as compared to other Chinese takeouts around the area. I placed an order online and was delivered to me in 37 minutes consider it takes about 10 – 15 min for transportation. General Tso’s Chicken was good, but a bit hard. The scallion pancake was very good. I normally don’t pay much attention to white rice, but this restaurant’s white rice is of Chinatown quality as compare others in the area. Even comes with fruit as free dessert.

I am a regular customer and keep coming back as the service is great. The place is clean and Amy is a polite and kind person. I generally order Spare rib tips with Sweet Bananas or lately The General Tos Chicken with Sweet Bananas. I mostly get my order as a take out item.

I wish I could give this a 2.5, but that isn’t possible so… My significant other and I stopped in here this evening to pick up take out. The menu in itself is very expansive — there are many options! When we were ready to order, the staff were attentive. I was slightly disappointed by their customer service, though — I am a HUGE fan of chicken fried rice, and am used to other restaurants substituting that instead of brown or white rice for a surcharge. Here, they said that was not possible — that was disappointing to me. The wait for two entrees was around 20 minutes. I noticed a lot of clutter in the restaurant — the tables next to the country were filled with granola boxes, a laptop, and other items that seem strange to see in a restaurant. When we brought the food home, we did enjoy it, but it wasn’t as great as other take-out restaurants in the Inwood area. The portions were also small for the price. In the end, we may be back, but it isn’t a favorite.

Amy’s really is the best Chinese food in WaHi. It may be a touch more expense, but it is better. The only place to get good Szechuan wonton in hot oil sauce. Top notch hot & sour soup. And many veg options. Been order from here for years and never had an issue with delivery or delivery guys.

Everything here is good. I was addicted to this place for years. I ALWAYS make a point to go when I visit NY. I haven’t found better Asian cuisine anywhere. I recommend the sesame chicken(perfect texture), the moo shoo pork, Malaysian lo mein, steamed dumplings, curry fried rice, Orange chicken and Malaysian chow fun. You can be adventurous with this place cause everything they make is high quality.

Happy to find vegetarian options. Chicken with broccoli is good, if a bit salty.

Love my Amy. I been eating here for a couple years and never have any real complaints at the food. Hopefully the place can stick around in that area, mindful of the poor ambience inside. But nonetheless, I’m only concerned about having the best sesame chicken in NYC.

This place has so many faux meats on the menu that it makes my heart sing. It has the potential to be both greasy delivery Chinese and healthy-ish delivery Chinese. The string beans with garlic are good, and any chik’n dish is serviceable. Avoid the meatless soups unless you like bland noodle-water flavor. For a greasy, sticky sweet delight, try the General Tso’s chik’n.

Best chinese food in the area. Very delicious. It is a bit on the pricy side but it is so worth it. I normally don’t eat chinese from many places so this is my go to place for good chinese food.

Not the best Chinese in the neighborhood, and on the pricey side, but they have tons of fake meat options. Sometimes the fake meat dishes don’t taste like what they purportedly are– how is this General Tso style?– but they’re generally tasty in their own way.

3 years ago I gave Amy’s a 3 star rating. They’ve gone from a $ 15 minimum on Seamless to $ 25($ 18 on GrubHub). I placed an order through their website since there it is only a $ 15 delivery minimum. After 45 minutes and no food, I called them. They still hadn’t made it because they were busy. I swiftly cancelled the delayed order, which they hadn’t even charged yet, and called up Lotus Express. For less money and far better customer service, my food was to my door in 15 minutes. They even called as soon as I ordered to let me know they had run out of string beans and if I’d mind broccoli. Avoid Amy’s if at all possible. Always get your food from Lotus Express.

I love this place. It’s my go-to Chinese delivery place to my bachelor pad in Wash heights. I’m quite the dumpling fiend. I get 4 sets of dumplings and feed on them for days: fried veggie, steamed veggie, steamed shrimp and Schezuan shrimp. Everything amounts to about $ 28 dollars and I get 4 meals out of it at least! The food is always warm when it arrives and the portions are generous and wholesome.

I’ve given this place a million chances despite the high-ish prices… Because their food is usually of better quality than some other places in inwood. Delivery time is usually a little longer than most places as well, but like I said, their food is good and they have healthy options like brown rice, etc. I ordered today, beef with broccoli lunch special, vegetable fried rice made with brown rice, and an order of edamame. $ 27.00!!! Okay. Whatever. Everything was fine until I pulled a long hair out of my mouth as I was chewing my veggie fried rice. Looked closely at the rest of my food only to find another couple of hairs scrambled in with the egg! I can deal with mistakes here and there — long delivery times, rude staff, even a slight food mixup. But hair?!? Nope. Not doing it. Sorry Amy’s, I’m grossed out and won’t be ordering from you any more!

Roy’s Top 5 Things to Know: 1. Best chinese food uptown. They have all your favorites plus an extensive healthy menu. 2. It’s more expensive than your typical take out chinese food, about $ 10 an order. 3. Their vegetable fried rice + broccoli in brown sauce is the bomb diggity bomb. 4. You can eat in, it’s not divey but no one really does. 5. They have a large delivery radius but you do have to wait a long time and the delivery guys expects at least a $ 5 tip or he’ll get grumpy.
