Love this place! They have great soups! And they let you try them before you order them. There are so many options! The service is friendly and fast — the seafood gumbo is really tasty! I’ll definitely be back to have more soup!

I come here every Tuesday and Thursday to grab dinner after work and before class at Hunter. The staff is consistently friendly, give great sized portions and last week, when I forgot my wallet in my other purse, the manager comped my salad and told me to have a great day and promise to come back. Thank you kind sir, for making my night after a frazzling day of teaching before going to night class. You turned my night around.

Great quick soup or salad. Staff ok, not overly helpful but friendly enough. Some items a little salty but overall good soup.

There was a freaking piece of wood in my salad which I found from eating and caused me severe tooth damage. Never again. This is gross and absurd: l.

Still waiting an hour and a half for just 3 small soups. this is ridiculous if I knew it would have taken so long I would have never ordered. Never again. According to their estimated time, it should have been here 30 minutes ago.

Just don’t ! The delivery and the attitude is just straight up awful … Every time I order something is wrong. Today I waited 2 hours for an incomplete order… salad with no bread Oh and if you call good luck with that! They give you an attitude before you even open your mouth to ask what’s going on. I wanted to call to tell them they had messed up my order again but the thought of dealing with the person on the other end already had me ready to flip out… Not worth it .I would rather not eat than deal with the headache of this place… STAYAWAY

What a great place for a quick eat! The soups are amazing. One of my favorite soups of all time is the Clam Chowder and this place makes it fantastic! Pair it with the sourdough bread and you will be satisfied! The place gets super busy on rush hours, but there are many people working behind the corner and they move at a fast pace! This place always keeps me warm.

Fast food, not so much. DONOT, I repeat, DONOT order delivery from this place. I have attempted to order lunch for my coworkers and I 3 times. First time, never came, just literally did not come. Second time, had to call and call to speak to someone who told me the reason is was 2 hours late was because they were cutting carrots for the hummus side? Third time, took 3.5 hours to reach the office. We were issued a refund. It just stinks because the soup is so good and there really aren’t many other options for soup. I have walked in and gotten soup which is always a good experience, but delivery, no, just no.

Two stars for the soup but they lost three for that West Indian woman who decided to treat me horribly. Didn’t say hello or if I wanted bread. But did so for the white guy behind me, smh. I attend Hunter and go here occasionally, well when I forget about their attitudes. The manger was awesome, very patient and helpful… but he needs to inform his workers on how they should treat EVERYONE.

This place always delivers on taste!!! Whether it be a salad, sandwich, or soup, its always fresh and delicious. I have been coming for years and this location is always busy but on point. Even for delivery once, they said expected delivery time was 1.5 hrs. I was like what?! Hope they worked on that. Yesterday I met with a friend for lunch. She wanted a salad and I recommended Hale and Hearty. This place once again busy. So I had to wait a few to order and had to wait a few to pay. I ordered a small romaine with all the works, chicken, chick peas, onions, feta cheese, beets and croutons. I was unsure about what dressing to purchase looked at the menu board and saw light chili lime. The staff said would you like to sample it first. I said sure thank you. I loved how she put a cucumber in the sample cup to make it more enjoyable. Great worker and super friendly. I went for the chili lime and it was great. The salad was amazing. I love it. The soups are delish as well. Very hearty however a lil salty to my liking. The sandwiches are great. My favorite is the mediterranean chicken wrap. Omg delicious and flavorful. What a great wrap. So if your in the mood for something delicious and fresh, go to Hale and Hearty!!!

I have been to this hale and hearty location over 50 times because it is down the block from my college. They give you a punch card where u get a free soup after 10 purchases which is amazing for an addict. I was hooked the first time from their beef stroganoff soup but they only made that twice in the 2 years I’ve been going so I had to switch my drug. The cream of tomato chicken n orzo is crack! Literally. And you have to eat it with the oyster crackers submerged in that tomato goodness. Next lasagna soup is F$&@! Ing incredible and the beef stew, and all the mushroom soups, oh and how can I forget their Mac n cheese with beef mmmm. It is so creamy! Clearly I’m obsessed and so will you!

I’m always skeptical about the freshness of the food at these kinds of places because it sits out for such a long time. They have so many options for different soups that I can’t imagine the turnover rate is too high. I’ve now been here twice because there just really aren’t a lot of healthy eating options around this part of the city. Prices are borderline unfair. This is the type of place where everything looks cheap per item, but it all adds up very quickly. Competitor chains have similar menu deals(eg. half a sandwich and a small soup) for cheaper prices. I was pleasantly surprised about the sandwiches, which are tasty with unique flavor combinations. I got an avocado-egg-tomato sandwich with onions and arugula on it. I like how you can buy a whole or a half sandwich depending on how hungry you are. My soup(10-vegetable) wasn’t so great, it was very salty and mostly had green beans and carrots in it(the vegetables that can easily come from a can. Coincidence?). I’ve had other Hale and Hearty Soups from other establishments(they supply to lots of restaurants/cafes) and they have been very good. The menu is very overwhelming and they handwrite it(hard to read). Not all the soups cost the same. The customize-your-own salad was about $ 10, which is very expensive in my opinion. They had some premade, cheaper salads in the front refrigerator that looked promising. Service was confusing, too. Several different people were helping me out. I had to specifically ask for the bread that was supposed to come with the soup for free. This chain does not have a relaxed vibe– it’s get in, get your food, and get out. However, if you happen to be in the area, this may be your only bet for healthy food.

You would think I would learn my lesson after the first time. This is now the third time I’m waiting over two hours for a soup … I love their soups but do not recommend ordering during lunch time on a weekday. They often have left out items off my order. They forgot the bread from our order today and forgot soups in previous orders. Not a good experience. Being left hungry two hours with an order you already paid for is not a good way to start the week, and unprofessional on their part as a business.

All HAIL the soup king HALE&HEARTY! Some of H&H’s soups remind me of soups of the Caribbean, my home! Then there are others that I’ve never heard of much less tried and I enjoy sampling their many soup selections. I also like their fresh salads. There is one thing I didn’t like. We usually get delivery but as it was a cool Sunday I decided to walk the 3 blocks or so. As I entered the space the cashiers were telling customers that they were only accepting debit or credit no cash. I didn’t ask if I was a one off, I was just grateful that along with cash I had also brought a card. That was okay, maybe they had an issue with their safe or whatever. What I didn’t like was after I ordered my New England Clam Chowder(an old favorite of mine), the lady asked me if I would prefer the 7 grain bread, some other type of bread OR crackers??? Huh??? When we order food via delivery service, they ALWAYS bring both so I didn’t see it necessary to have to now choose simply because I walked to the store. What’s up with that H&H? Hmmm The space though small wasn’t filled so I sat for a bit and had my «freshly» squeezed orange juice. The clams in my chowder though as juicy as it usually is, was a bit overcooked. I like H&H The End.

I don’t get Hale and Hearty. People swear by it, I see locations all over the city, but I just don’t understand the fuss. How is it different than a Panera or a Pret or an Au Bön Pain? Maybe it isn’t, maybe it’s just personal preference and I’m reading too much into this. Despite my confusion over its rabid fan base, I did like Hale and Hearty. I had the Cajun Chicken Sandwich — it was good(I especially liked the sauce) and exactly what I wanted at the time. I think I should order a soup next time, though. Especially considering the name, Hale and Hearty Soups. Maybe then, I’ll get it.

Since Hale & Hearty is near my school, I often come here for a quick healthy snack. I usually get a small salad(which is enough for me, even though a large is around $.30 cents extra) and add the toppings. Some toppings like grilled chicken is more, but carrots and tomatoes are included in the price. The soups are good as well, but they are quite expensive.
