Gregory’s Coffee will always have a special place in my heart, because of the time I saw Aziz Ansari outside of it. But not because I really like the coffee. The coffee – especially at this location, always tastes a little burnt to me. Despite giving it multiple chances, I’ve decided it’s not for me. The sweets however – are dope! Every morning before work, I contemplate if it’s a Treat Myself Morning – in which case, if it is, I proceed to Gregory’s Coffee to obtain one of their friggin’ delicious pastries. The cinnamon bun is so far my favorite, but you can make your selection among the many donuts, cookies, and pastries they have! Also whatever day I went was also free munchkin day, so that was pretty awesome.

I have been going to this Gregory’s almost everyday for 9 months, as it is across the street from my office. First, let me say that the coffee is really delicious, I usually get the espresso drinks but I have had the iced drinks and they are all really good. All of the treats and baked goods are insanely good, the carrot pound cake is one of my favorites. They also have handmade caramels that are perfect. The area that this Gregory’s is in has a lot of competition, Starbucks, LaColombe, Le Pain Quotidian, etc., but I have been loyal to Gregory’s because I prefer their coffee, they are reasonably priced and the service is exceptional. The people who work at this coffee shop are so nice and friendly, plus they are extremely competent at their jobs and very knowledgable about the coffee.

Great coffee and friendly service… but I only am allowing 4 stars bc there is one barista who tends to make the caps and cortados a little on the lukewarm side. But I still love this place, and they have yummy pastries as well as little cups of boiled eggs so that you can grab some protein on the go.

The explosion of artisan $ 5 coffee drinkers has brought many bigger brands to the table. I used to work at 34th& Park, and found a location over there that I liked. I’d stop in there everyday to feed my addiction. So when I was recently heading over to meet a colleague a Viacom, I stopped in here as they’re across the street. If you come in between 8 and 9:30, it tends to be the crazy rush of people trying to get to the office on time. Stressed & harried. But I came in today at 10am so it was calm. That gave me a full hour before my meeting to chill & amp up my blood-caffeine level. It worked. I’m still alive!

I am climbing out of my Gregorys phase, but the friendly staff and the whole wheat donuts bring me back! Everything I’ve tried is pretty good except for the savory pastries. Spend your $ 3 on the food truck or the deli nearby if that’s what you’re looking for… Also saw THE Gregory here. TWICE!

Stopped in while waiting for a client appointment across the street and was able to snag a table for the hour wait. The pressed coffee was awesome and the staff really friendly… I’ll definitely be stopping in again!

I like Gregory’s coffee a lot and have found myself in here a few times — enough to know that the coffee is always good and the staff is always pleasant. However, I bought Gregory’s house blend from this location as a birthday present and specifically request it be ground for a French press — very course. The barista even agreed with me and made sure to tell the person grinding the coffee, whom I assume was a new employee. After we tried to make it in a French press it didn’t work out so well because the grounds were so incredibly fine. Bottom line — be specific and check your coffee before leaving.

Very clean, new location. Super friendly staff and line moves quickly. This morning, the barista messed up and called out a «large decaf latte» instead of a «large non-fat latte.» Long story short, I walked out with the non-fat latte I had originally ordered, a medium chai, AND a free drink coupon! Now that’s customer service. Kudos to the manager here for clearly creating a great environment for his team.

The coffee is pretty pricey, but it’s great quality and delicious. Once a week I’ll go and treat myself to a mocha, which is divine. The baristas are also super sweet! This isn’t my routine coffee place, but it’s worth it if you’ll be staying a while.

Only a few months back, the epicenter of Hudson Square only had Essen and Dunkin Donuts coffee; La Colombe and then about a month ago Gregory’s showed up, and between the latter two, Gregory’s is the lesser grade, higher price hipster flashy fare. I’ve tried a latte and pour-over coffee here, and both missed the mark by a long shot to the authentic La Colombe.

Pretty good as premium coffee places go. Cakes are in particular very good and plentiful. Superior to Starbucks imho. If you can justify nearly 5 bucks on a coffee that is.

I was so happy to know Gregory’s was moving into my work neighborhood and it didn’t disappoint! Friendly staff, cozy décor — beats the sterile Starbucks and too cool La Columbe. A+ for the Dirty Chai! Also, always like to support a local business.

too expensive. When Starbucks across the street seems reasonable you know there’s got to be something wrong. 92 cents for almond milk? wow. walked away with a small latte at almost $ 5. It was good but me thinks not.

The second new coffee shop to open in the area(La Colombe being the other). Figured to take advantage of the no-line situation while it lasted. Impressed by the menu selection, as they have large sizes and many additional options to choose from. Only down side is that it can get expensive with all the extra stuff you put in. First stop here I got a Hazelnut Latte w/almond milk at 16 oz. This cost me $ 6ish. Second time here I got the regular latte at 16 oz. This cost me $ 4ish. Coffee comes out fast, not too hot. I recommend the regular latte over flavored as the latter was too sweet. Baked goods are tempting.

Stopped in for breakfast this morning and ordered a chai and apple fritter. Chai was good. The apple fritter was disgusting. I bit into it and oil just oozed out. When I touched the inside of the fritter, my finger was an oil slick. So gross and not worth the $ 3 it cost. I threw it away.

It’s still opening day for alt-chain Gregorys Coffee’s branch on Hudson Street. I think there are some details to work out with the actual coffee. Urban foodies and restaurant bloggers will tell you that brand new espresso machines make for clean and delicious extractions on account of the cleanliness of the plumbing but this morning’s double shot(my personal baseline drink) I ordered was unfinishably acrid, chemicalish, even. I couldn’t bring myself to down it. I wish them all the best — this new shops is 8 floors directly below my workplace and I’d intended to make them a regular part of my life. A few tables in the shop look like they’d make a decent place to hide out for an hour or two. The counter staff is fresh and new and bubbly, all smiles from the cashiers to the runners to the baristas. The interior is spacious and there’s plentiful staff; I’d expect that they’ll be able to handle rushes and volumes of customers rather well. You and I’ll be able to wait in line for not too long a period of time and do so without being too close to smell each other — always a plus in the later parts of the day.
