Nothing about the Starbucks vibe makes me want to stay for a while, but the delicious(albeit too expensive) cold brew brings me back when I need a afternoon jolt to get me through the workday.

The décor is warm and inviting with a modern touch but having only high tables is a poor option for those who would like to buckle down and and get some reading or work done. The music is not fitting for a café with hip hop club music playing in the background. I ordered the large cold brew for a modest price of 4 dollars only to be disappointed for a number reasons. The brew is very watery and did not have a depth of flavor. I am guessing either the weren’t enough beans or not steeped long enough. The cashier/“barista” gave poor customer service by not pronouncing her words clearly. I had to ask for the wifi 4 times. Moreover she over filled my coffee which left some coffee under the brim. when I went to take a sip it spilled on my shirt. This place might as well be a pub for some of the crowd it attracts who talk really loudly above the loud music. I would maybe give three stars but the atmosphere just kills the whole point of a sit down coffee joint. As a final point the slow wifi just hammers the nails on the coffin. They need to change the password every other day or something.

I just love this place. So student friendly(lots of seating, outlets to charge, and free wifi); I spend hours here doing homework. The vibe is really nice and they play great music. I also noticed how clean this place is, every time I’m there I see employees cleaning something. Quick service too! Never waiting long for my drink. Staff is super friendly and I notice other customers sitting down are always in the best mood/super friendly. Highly recommend:)

I mean, for another coffee spot in NYC that is overpriced, the coffee is good. However, $ 3 and change for a cup of regular Joe is quite the rip off even if it good. I can understand paying that price for a latte or macchiato, but just black coffee? I mean come on NYC, I know that the prices of rent is high for stores but I just can’t believe that people are willing to pay that much. If the prices were reflective of the competitors, which have just as good coffee in my opinion, then maybe you would be able to make a profit and pay the rent and your employees by having more people come in and purchase what you’re offering. I am not a frugal person by any means, that is for sure, but I just can’t see paying that on a daily basis if I lived in NYC.

So happy to find this spot. It’s a little oasis from the bustle and grit of the area around Penn Station. They have a changing selection of complex single origin coffees, a selection of baked goods including croissants, donuts, cinnamon buns, etc. And best of all, smoothie bowls with great ingredients like kale, coconut, flax, and dates. I like to think I make a mean smoothie bowl at home so I was happy to find one that was delicious and healthful. The staff were friendly and professional. Lots of room to sit, with banquettes, small tables, and high top communal tables. There are outlets and there is WiFi. Solid five, especially considering location and the nearby competition.

I don’t like their limited selection of sweets and cakes. I wish they had more of a variety. The lattes I have had there were all weak. All in all quite a disappointment.

Love love love Gregory’s on 7th! Where else can you get air pressed coffee from foreign countries? Staff is always friendly and smiley, and the drinks are superb. The quality of the coffee and espresso is way better than Starbucks, and the line is shorter too :) The milk and sweetener station is always stocked full, unlike Starbucks. My favorite thing to get is the Morning Boost Smoothie! One day I wanted that, but they didn’t have strawberries so I substituted banana instead. Now every time I order that I ask for banana instead of strawberry because it’s so delicious. Starbucks is behind me now. Unless I’m in the mood for Dunkin’s iced coffee, I can’t imagine going anywhere in the city for coffee or a smoothie.

This is my favorite Gregory’s location… It’s a block away from Penn Station, and a few blocks up from FIT. Everyone is making a statement and my Almond milk latte completes my own. Gregory’s Coffee is clean, with friendly, skillful baristas. Restroom is spotless and in working order. Perfect place to fortify myself for tonight’s full moon!

Coffee was burnt or a little old… surprising especially for Gregory’s. Service was fair.

Pretty decent coffee, however it did take a while to obtain. I was feeling adventurous, so I yielded to the cashier staff for recommendations. I ended up agreeing to test(bud) driving the vulcan. The coffee took a while to get(it was a huge tease waiting for it without knowing what to expect, as I went into this experience blindly) and a near-miss commandeering’s had occurred on my behalf as I eagerly waited(aka I kept trying to snatch up peoples drinks). The coffee was ground, poured into a cylindrical object, boiling water added, stirred and pressed through into a beaker and poured into a double layered cup to go. I imagine the experience would have been elevated had I opted to drink-in. My coffee companion also was in the adventurous mood, who tried a coffee based out of Ethiopia. We jokingly said that the coffee was being imported as we patiently(ish) waited for our hot beverages. Ambiance was nice — very gentrified vibe and clientele — with a mix of wood tones, much like other coffee shops. It was very clean and filled with multiple opportunities to hole up in a nook or congregate while standing. Overall, I was happy to experience something different in the world of coffee. If you are in the adventurous mood, just let em know! Don’t go for the standard americano. If you go here, get a latte to stay(comes with a nice foamy design in a porcelain cup).

Shitty attitudes that just force you to ignore everything else. Very rude staff management should really address that because no matter how good the coffee may be… the experience is bitter. If you consider your poor choice of staffing and training; looking at coffee different then maybe Gregory should go back to the optometrist and get his prescription adjusted! Won’t be coming back here. Thanks

Actually this place deserve 5* because since they opened they have been doing a great job. A huge plus is a high speed Wi-Fi. Coffee is good most of the times(it depends on who’s making it) and they created a really cool spot in the hood. Enough space for everyone, good pastries and drinks.

Cool place and not crowded. Good coffee and the pastries look amazzzzing but hey, New Year and the diet forbids. Good place to catch up on emails or meet a client to discuss business. Bathroom in the back is clean and usually not a long wait. Convenient location for the Penn Station commuter!

Stopped by this morning and it was fully opened. They had little donut holes up front at the registers to welcome customers. This location is a slightly a bit more narrow but longer than other locations. There are wooden seats up front and near the back and really nice lighting: comfortable and warm. The people so far are friendly and welcoming. The«fixin’s bar» is fully stocked with sugars, stirrers, straws, milk, soy, half/half, napkins, etc. This location has pretty much the same goods and set-up as other locations and everything looks clean and freshly made. Being my closest location from the office now, I’ll frequent this Gregory’s more often. Welcome to this side of town!
