Best Chinese food in East Harlem, no doubt. Dinner and lunch specials won’t cost you more than $ 9 and they are so incredibly quick I don’t even know how they do it. I place an order and by the time I walk around the block it is ready. Take-out and delivery only, but don’t be turned off by the décor… price, speed and quality are as good as it gets.

It’s a known fact that East Harlem suffers in the Chinese food department as compared to neighborhoods further south, the outer boroughs, or even west Harlem for that matter. Thankfully, Great Wall is a cheap Chinese joint in East Harlem that’s not just cheap, but that actually makes delicious food. It’s legit and can totally hold its own with the favorite Chinese spot you had in your old neighborhood. It’s the only place I’ll order from. Delivery times can be a bit slow, but again, I think that has to do with the fact that this is the only good Chinese spot up here. Try the sesame chicken, it’s delicious!!!

As a Taiwanese-American who grew up eating Chinese/Taiwanese food everyday, I miss having delicious home cooking every night. So far, Great Wall has not disappointed. I rarely ever order any of the Americanized dishes like General Chicken or Sesame Chicken(no disrespect, it’s delicious! — but when I’m craving Chinese, I’m craving authentic dishes). The veggies they use are fresh, and the portions are fair. I don’t recommend dining in because there’s not really any seating, but definitely order delivery or pick up.

Great Wall is my go-to spa-ha chinese place. they don’t have chop sticks, but other than that the food is good.
