GREATBURRITO! With a name like that, you can’t go wrong right? So far I haven’t been wronged. Usually get a taco or two, always delicious, or a slice of pizza, always satisfying. Prices are nothing to complain about. And service is great(burrito!). The staff are super nice. Don’t sit near the door when it’s cold though, brrr.

Amazingly good! Just had the special of the day, Posole Rojo, which was hand written on a paper plate. Big chunks of hominy, and ribbons of pulled pork, in an intense fiery red broth flavored with cloves. And two avocado tostadas included! The place is mostly frequented by Hispanics, probably workers from around here. There are a few tables. Seems to be always busy. The soft tacos look good. Everything looks good.

Trolling manhattan at 2am looking for decent meal we stumbled upon this place. Say No to McDonalds and $ 1 slices of pizza. Love yourself. Ditch the uninspiring pizza they have here and go for the Mexican food. Two tacos for $ 3 each will fill you up. They go heavy on the meat. I had the carnitas and al pastor. Being Mexican myself, this place is legit and gets a stamp of approval.

This place doesn’t look appealing but it’s really good. You gotta get the Al Pastor Burrito with extra hot sauce on the side. The sauce makes the meal. This isn’t a place that has explosive flavors but it’s somewhere I can eat regularly and not get tired of. It feels like home cooked food you get nostalagic for.

This buritto was nasty and overpriced. No veggies at all, no sour cream inside, no cheese, no salsa… The meat(I got grilled chicken) was repulsive and grisly, and even had some slivers of bone in it. I wouldn’t feed this to a dog. Salty, dry, and gross. I’ve had the tortas in the past and they were ok… but I won’t be back.

The place looks scary. Pizza and Mexican? Sleazy? Take a deep breath and step in and order the roast pork tostada. You’ll never look back. Hands down the best tostada I’ve ever had. Homemade fried tortilla, flavorful pork, crisp lettuce and tomato, fabulous sauce and cheese. $ 3. A fair warning: it was spicy, which I like.

Veggie tacos. Amazing. Now this place is a hole in the wall and if it wasn’t for the recommendations I wouldn’t have walked in here. They also serve pizza which no one seems to order(decorative purposes?). The Mexican food is prepared with care and the ingredients are fresh. If you eat in they serve you on ceramic plates and they care about taste and presentation, if you focus on those two things you’d think you were in SoHo.

Hole in the wall spot got 4 stars for being open super late. Food pretty good and cheap. Tacos are a better deal than the torta. Just a little heads up.

Popped into Great Burrito on my way to work for a quesadilla. For some reason my tortilla was pretty much a thick thick corn pancake with refried steak not cooked to order. A tiny amount of flavorless cheese made up this quesadilla, which was then smothered in black beans which made the pancake wet. I tried sawing through the pancake with the plastic take out knife, but unfortunately I couldn’t break a piece free to try it. The steak however was nice and crispy, which I’m not completely 100% sure why. All in all, the $ 10 quesadilla wasn’t worth the money I paid the the open-shirted man that handed it to me.

This is an acceptable burrito, but it’s definitely not great. The portions are big and the price is pretty fair. Great Burrito is a whole in the wall, but that’s OK. That’s how a good burrito spot should be. If you’re looking for a decent burrito, this place can suffice but I wouldn’t keep my expectations high.

Officially became my Go-To spot after work. I bartend, and get off work pretty late… and in that area, nothing food-related is really open. This spot is just heaven. They stay open all day until 5am, to reopen at 9am. Those hours alone are super convenient. The service is very attentive and the staff are super friendly and quick with making the food. My favorite plate is the Bistec Encebollado(Steak and onions dish with rice lettuce and beans); This plate is super inexpensive and literally is loaded with so much food. Worth the price for sure!!! TRUSTME. The place is tiny but has a fast turnover. the décor isnt the best but there food is just super awesome — so who cares. See you guys very soon Im already hungry… xoxo

I’ve come by here a couple times as it’s close by, and I’ve been told that their food was very good. It’s definitely one of those hole-in-the-wall spots that are plentiful in NYC but doesn’t stand out at all — just a divey joint serving some homespun Mexican food. After ordering at the counter, you can park yourself at a table or stand around awkwardly(my method of choice for waiting) for about 5 – 7 minutes until your order is done. Burritos, tacos, tortas, enchiladas, platters — there are plenty of choices to choose from, as well as meats across the board that are the same for each item. That’s a nice touch, as usually it seems like most spots I’ve been to will charge more for anything that isn’t chicken. That said, the first experience I had here(which was a carnitas burrito) was disappointing. The carnitas themselves are so juicy and succulent that it puts the oversalted variety at Chipotle to shame. The rest of the burrito, though, was incredibly bland, with way too much rice and a small portion of beans thrown in. With sour cream drizzled conservatively on top, and the hot sauce(which is always good here) to add, it was a little more flavorful, but it was one of the most boring burritos I have ever eaten, and at $ 9 – 10, isn’t worth it IMO. The tacos, on the other hand, are fantastic. They put a bit of guacamole on them, which is a huge plus(why not on the burrito?), and with a decent amount of cilantro(more would be better) and lime wedges to add a bit of acidity, you get some really delicious bites, especially once you add the hot sauce. The carnitas were fabulous, while the chicken had good flavor but was a bit dry and tough for my liking. I’ll definitely come back for the tacos, and possibly try out some more of the other offerings. The burritos are just a bland carb bomb that did nothing for me, so I’d recommend staying away from it, even if the name of this place is ‘Great Burrito’.

In my experience, Mexican food never failed me, and this spot is no exception! You walk in, and it feels like you’re in Corona, Queens. trust me, no complaints there! It can seat about 10 – 12 people which is great considering how small the place is. If you’re all about cleanliness, and only eat at places with Food Inspection grades with A+ or higher, don’t walk in. Garbage is right by the seating area, and all their beverages in the fridge are dusty [Nothing a napkin or wet-wipe can fix!] Luckily, I could care less! So no stars deducted there aha. Food is BANGIN’! I’ve only gotten the Tostadas and Tortas here and I almost always get it with Lengua which is Beef tongue YUM! Tortas are great, it’s like a mexican sandwich, Tostadas are delicious too, they’ve got a nice crunch, and even with all the stuff they put on it, the crispy shells keep its form! Make sure to grab a handful of napkins because it’s going to get messy! Also ask for Guacamole on the tostadas, it’s a nice touch and NO it still won’t fall apart! OH and ask for the Jalapeños on the side because they are MUYPICANTE! Service is straight-forward, you walk up to the counter, they take your order, you pay, they call you up when you’re food is ready and then you feast. I’d love to chat with them but it can get a little hectic in there; cmon… Cheap Mexican grub in the Flatiron District. And plus, I just want my delicious Mexican grab-and-gos!

I have tried the tacos, burritos and pizza here and here’s my verdict — mediocre food. The pollo tacos are probably the tastier of other food I have tried here. Pizza is claerly the worst. STAYAWAY from it. This is NOT the place to get a pizza, there are amazing places all over the city. Stick to your tacos.

Yum oh yum, no wonder there are so many good reviews here. I was starving and I’m so glad I found this little burrito place. If you’re looking for a fine dining sit down place, please move along. This is more of a small, slight hole in the wall but serves an awesome delicious taco. With only 4 tables, you really can’t stay too long. Most people just get it to go but not me. I was determined to experience the whole thing. And let’s just say, it was tasty. Ordered the grilled chicken topped with onions, their secret sauce, hot sauce, rice, cilantro, on two soft tacos. $ 3. Yes, $ 3! Easy on the wallet. Next time I come back, and yes, trust me, there will be a next time, I’ll try the beef.

Very generously filled and portioned. If it’s a nice day, take it and go eat in Madison Square park! Chuckle at all the people standing in the Shake Shack line. =)
