The burgers were a bit expensive and the service was molasses slow. They gave us the whole spiel about local and farm to table. Well, I just wanted a burger. Anyway, we were pleasantly surprised. The meat was quite normal but what really blew me away was the white cheddar cheese that you could get on your burger. It was one of the more flavorful ones I’ve ever had. Still, the overall experience was mildly exasperating and I’m not sure I like it enough to come back compared to other options in the area or heading over to Chinatown to save a bit of dough on my meal.

Though there are surely bad moral implications that can come from eating the flesh of another animal, I love meat and I’m sure that’ll never change. At least I can eat at Grazin’ knowing that their meats, eggs, and cheese are sourced from their very own Animal Welfare Approved farm up in Columbia County. Frankly, I could tell the difference in the food. It was excellent! Admittedly, my friends ended up at Grazin’ as part us checking some boxes off of our Good Whiskey Passports. What we got was a filling and delicious meal with some top notch farm — to –table goodness. To start, we each sampled the whiskey drink they were offering in conjunction with the passport; it was a hot toddy, which was welcomed and warming. When it came down to the food, I got their Grazin’ burger, which I topped with raw cheddar.(Being immunocompromised, I knew better, haha, but…*shrug*). The flavor of the meat was very fresh(as fresh as a burger can get), and the consistency of the meat was light, which I say in a complementary sense. It didn’t feel or taste like your average hamburger made with god-knows-what kind of hamburger meat. The cheese was delightfully tangy. Finally, the fries were perfect. One of my friends got an egg on her Grazin’, and she said it was a wonderful egg; her husband got that night’s special sandwich, the Sloppy Goat. Indeed, it was a Sloppy Joe with goat meat. I liked it! Goat is a very underrated and delicious meat, when prepared well. Grazin’ is definitely a wonderful place for a burger, even if the prices are a little higher than I’d pay for a burger on the norm. However, that farm — to — table quality, truly, is hard to beat. Grazin’ has set the bar very high.

I ordered a grazin burger to go, along with a side squash. Just opening my boxes to see and smell the deliciousness excited me, and within the first bite I knew I couldn’t wait to get back. My burger was OUTSTANDING and their side salad(which comes with the burger instead of fries, brilliant) was soo good I didn’t even need to add the dressing. I absolutely 150% recommend this place and cannot wait to try more things off their menu. Everything looks good and the atmosphere inside is really cute. Obviously I love their mantra of local organic sustainable biodynamic and animal welfare approved! Say that 5 times fast, I can’t but I’ll keep eating! See you there :)

I would be remiss without writing a review. I have been buying from Grazin’ Angus at the farmers market for years and was excited when I learned that they would be opening a downtown restaurant close to my house. The ethics behind this family is outstanding. Their menu is simple, yet the best quality and super delicious. If you don’t care about sustainable farming and humane treatment of animals then this is not the place for you. It takes an incredible amount of work and skill to raise animals properly and take care of farmland. If something is not in season then its not on your plate! This place is leaps and bounds beyond just«grass fed» and«farm to table». Their mustard and ketchup is homemade; it doesn’t get any better. Take care of yourself and come eat here. I wouldn’t want to nourish myself with anything else!

Great weekday lunch spot in the City Hall area! This is my go to spot because — always can get a table, great food, and quick service. Salad portions are slightly small but burgers are great!

I will come back just for the chili — best chili I have had in ages. Coarsely ground beef, excellent spice profile, no beans. Several beers on tap — I did not take notice of the labels. I had an Owney’s Rum cocktail which was very well made. Small bar in front, several tables, I am guessing that they do a major take-out business at lunch.

The main reason for my 5-star review review is that this is the only(?) Animal Welfare Approved restaurant in the world. Animal Welfare Approved is the most rigorous certification I’ve found for humane treatment of animals, and it’s awesome to be able to enjoy delicious burgers that didn’t require innocent animals to suffer so I could eat them. The burger itself was quite good — juicy, flavorful, well-seasoned, with a fantastic balance of flavors in the toppings(I got the Uncle Dude, which is a standard 6 oz.(grass-fed and finished) beef-burger with cheddar, bacon, carrot jalapeño relish, and chipotle mayo. It was delicious.(I used to eat a very meat-heavy diet before I started worrying about animal welfare about a year ago, so don’t worry, my assessment isn’t skewed by rubbery meat substitutes). I also got a side of rainbow chard, which was good but simple(just sauteed in olive oil and seasoned with salt and pepper). No wait for my party of two on a Saturday night. The prices are indeed a bit higher than average, though the food is very high quality. I agree that if you are just looking for a tasty burger, you’ll save a few dollars if you buy one elsewhere that’s been marinated in the tears of suffering livestock.

Excellent burger and fries. I like that they will pile on high quality tomato if asked. The mustard and mayo are nice — I’m not much for ketchup but it all has a home-craft taste and feel. I will want to try one of the hot dogs. One thing NY fails to deliver on is a hot dog with proper condiments. It seems one could get the right stuff here. Décor is simple rustic brick and heavy wooden beam. Music was consistently good and different throughout the lunch. Service was good although a tad slow considering the small size crowd. Price is high although it won’t break the bank.

In a nutshell — this place was fine, but not worth the price of nearly $ 40 for a beer, fries & burger. While everyone is quick to point to the fact that this is a farm to table establishment, I still cannot justify the $ 24 I paid for the burger alone. If I had to liken this restaraunt to another in the area, I would compare it to Zaitzeff in the Financial District — specifically regarding the price point. Again, while the staff was quite pleasant and the burger/fries were fine — it’s not worth the price.

Stopped in here for a quick drink after work, and I have to say that I want to give it more stars because the staff was SO friendly, but sadly friendly staff isn’t enough to bring me back, and I don’t see myself coming back here any time soon. First of all, as a burger joint, it seems grossly overpriced. Now, I can’t say whether or not that’s true, because I didn’t actually order any food — I just looked at the prices and got scared. I get that it’s supposed to be all-organic, etc., but I feel like I’ve been to plenty of other places that have similar sourcing without the exorbitant price tag. But I just can’t be okay with the idea of spending close to $ 20 on a burger, especially a 6-oz. burger. The bar selection was fine, but nothing special. About seven beers on tap, a decent selection of liquor, but nothing that made me think that I’d want to come back. I think they’re much more interested in themselves as a burger joint than a bar, which is fine, just worth noting. On the plus column, the interior is gorgeous, and as I mentioned before, incredibly friendly staff. To be fair, they are pretty new, so maybe they’ll figure some of the menu kinks out later, but I just can’t support them right now.

This place has made a regular out of me. I now come in once a week without fail, and have had several big-group special-occasion meals here as well. You really taste the difference with a farm-to-table burger. I want to cry when I take the first bite. I’m also a huge fan of the variety – menu is small, but each week you’ll find a different seasonal burger, salad, soup, and chili. Bar is top-notch. Great beer and wine list, and delicious cocktails. Also recommend the brunch. Particularly biscuits and gravy with a chicken-fried EGG. To die for. Wait staff is among the nicest I’ve ever met, which is another reason I keep coming back. If you forced me at gunpoint to give criticism, I’d say sometimes efficiency is sacrificed for friendliness. So if you’re a food-consuming robot who likes to eat with speed and without pleasure, do not come here. Beware of negative comments about price. The most recent one, by a dude who said he paid«almost $ 50» for a plain burger and fries, is a liar. Former is $ 14, latter is $ 5. I’m not saying these are cheap burgers. They’re not. But that’s why you want them in your belly.

Never has their been a more natural more delicious burger in NYC. I just finished eating«The Stines»(18 $ 100% Grass-fed animal welfare approved meat. Caramelized onions and Chevre) not only was this so flavorful it’s the perfect portion to forfill your taste buds. Honestly the best burger I have ever tried before. This is the Only resturant with 100% of the menu designed around a true organic meal. Anything you order from here you will not be disappointed. They even have Made In House Soda all flavors so delicious. Highly recommended! ! !

A truly great burger. I love a good burger and I have had hundreds and this one rates for me in the top 3. Beefy, salty but not too salty, perfectly medium rare and the pickles are an artisanal work of art! I especially love the option to have almost any burger in a 4 oz portion instead of the 8oz. Also, fantastic beer selection!

The burger I had was very good but I don’t think I’ll ever be at a place in my life where I will be happy about spending $ 30 on a plain hamburger, a side of french fries and a glass of water. The food was very tasty, the staff was very friendly and the place has a cool feel to it, I just can’t justify spending close to $ 50 for a burger, fries and a beer. I don’t think I’ll be back

I’ll be honest, I normally don’t think twice about«organic,» but I’m in town for work and Grazin’ was recommended to me– so why not? I was pleasantly surprised. I had their burger special: grass fed and finished(don’t know what finished means) angus, goat cheese, egg, and special jam. And a cup of their pork chili. Both fantastic. Also get their cashew milk when ordering coffee! It’s a little on the pricey side, just under $ 35, but when 100% of EVERYTHING comes organically from local farmers, it’s worth it.

Grazin’ NY Manhattan Tribeca 8:30pm Thursday 20th March 2015 Four Stars Organic. Sustainable. Local. AWA. Grass-Fed. Probably other healthy hippy-dippy words can describe this place. However I just feel that this place is delicious. The place is relatively new to the Tribeca eating scene. There were some people here but not many. There were two flat screens playing the NCAAB tournament. Harvard almost pulled an upset. Water was served in a mason jars. Willy and I went halfsies on an Uncle Dude $ 21 and the Chef Special $ 22(both cooked medium rare). The uncle dude combined high quality beef, a fluffy bun, Cheddar cheese, Jalapeño Relish, Bacon, and a chipotle mayo. It was delicious from first to last bite. The chef special was described as «perfection» but we had to ask what perfection meant. The Burger of the Night came with Corned Beef, Cabbage, and Mustard. I am glad that I got my St Paddy’s Irish food fix this year. Overall both burgers were delicious. The proportion of bun, meat, and toppings were in harmony. The patty was juicy, loosely packed, and cooked exactly medium rare. The bun was thick enough to withstand the onslaught of delicious meat juices from the burger. Topping Highlights: Bacon add a nice textural difference. The house made pickles and cabbage tasted more fresh than briny. Lowlights: Corned Beef tasted a bit dry. Portion Size is on the small side(if you are looking for a cheap burger that will stuff your stomach, I would go somewhere else). This place is about quality. Service was great. Plenty of staff on the floor. Regular Check Ins. Prompt delivery of the check. Next time: I need a milkshake.

I may never be able to eat a hamburger anywhere else again. Food at this place, odd as it may seem, tastes like food. That shouldn’t be as revolutionary a statement as it actually is, but if you eat here you’ll see what I mean. There’s nothing fancy about what’s going on here. They use fresh ingredients from their own farms that they hold to the highest standard and it’s what they’re doing on those farms that makes a massive difference. It’s food that tastes like American food is supposed to taste. It’s the period at the end of the following sentence: The experiment to sustain people with factory-farmed animal products and chemically treated foods has failed. You must go.
