worst diner ever! only come here if you hate eating, love to pay for over priced food, and don’t mind rats running around kitchen and restaurant.

Slow slow slow Very local experience, that’s nice. Coffee refill only when ask, same with water. Didn’t clear tables a passable place for locals to eat and chat. Charming in that Cheers way.

The food here is pretty descent. Some waiters are friendly, some are outright rude! I have been coming to this place for 3 years and I usually order for delivery. I gave it 3 stars for the food and took away 2 for customer service. They are so rude when you call for an order! I don’t understand the need to give you a sermon or scold you when you tell them your order. They also hang up on you while you’re still talking. FYI I order the same exact thing every week and when I go there to dine in I tip generously(more than 20%). I am done with their poor customer service. NEVER going back or ordering again!

Solid 3. Really nothing standout, but nothing bad either. I came here as I’ve gone by this place many times and it’s always full. I got a special, nutella and banana challah french toast. It was pretty darn good. Our service was good and quick. I was happy enough with my first experience that I came back for breakfast the following week. I had an omelette that time and that was really good too. Overall, I’d recommend this if you’re looking for pretty standard diner fare. I’d say the prices are about $ 2 – 3 higher than I’d expect. It’s not that cheap. Just a good choice for the hood that’s fast and consistent.

Gracie Mews is up there with the quality Greek diners in New York City! Take the service, spinach and feta omelette, and freshly squeezed orange juice, you have a great diner! The food came out warm and the hash browns were just the way I liked them, crispy from the grill and not shredded. The place also screams family, as moms with their children came by along with a few families looking for a simple lunch/brunch.

This place is purely average. Matzoh ball soup is a joke – just a giant Matzoh ball in a teacup of oily broth – no veggies. Food is above average. Something easy if you’re in a rush or just need a casual, cheap place. What’s most annoying about this restaurant is that the waiters will do everything in their power to shove you out. You better hold onto your fork for dear life or they will take your plate away from you even if you have food left. I counted at least 10 times that the waiters were trying to shoo us out and the place was not even full.

Everything you want in great diner food. Breakfast cooked exactly your way and the portions make you feel guilty but you can’t finish it. Beef barley soup on Tuesday is delicious and a meal in itself.

This is my go-to place for a quick meal. I usually order online, but lately I’ve gone in and ordered. Both times, I ordered the Mexican burger and it did not disappoint. It’s a diner, they cook everything and everything they cook is good. The corned beef hash is amazing, the omelettes are cooked well also. I even ordered a chocolate shake to go and they gave me the extra in a cup while I waited for my food. There’s a bar, and there appear to be some older UES locals who sit and drink. The staff is nice enough, but seem to be warmer when they notice a «regular». As long as its consistent, I’ll be back.

I like diners for a quick late-night snack, and this place is great! I liked their matzo ball soup and Greek salad and fries. Laid back UES scene. Good service.

Fast delicious food. Crowded on a Saturday at 1pm but so welcoming and accommodating. Don’t be intimidated by a line. From the moment we arrived we felt taken care of. Quality ingredients. Great food. Fast friendly service always with a smile. We really enjoyed ourselves and plan to return very soon!

Stopped by for late lunch /breakfast on a lazy Sunday around 2 and the place was packed! There’s not much room to stand while waiting for a table and the man seating parties was a bit disheveled. He promised everyone waiting that it would only be a 2 min wait, then proceeded to seat those who came in after us first. We finally got to our table and had a server who seemed scattered as well… Food was decent. Your standard diner fare. No fountain sodas which was a bit disappointing but I enjoyed my Greek salad. Their desserts looked impressive — I will have to try some next time!

Best quality diner and diner food I’ve ever had. My favorite diner for brunch. Service is fantastic and while it can get crowded weekend brunches, but food is so fresh– western omelette, fruit salad and eggs Benedict being my fave dishes. They have fresh squeezed orange juice with a cool juice squeezing machine and also great coffee and cappuccino . They also have inside and outside seating.

I went to Gracie Mews Diner for breakfast and came out happy! First off, I went on a rainy Saturday morning and although it was a bit crowded — it didn’t even bother me, the whole place feels very homey which was perfect. Also, the waiters/waitresses were very attentive! We were greeted and seated almost immediately which was surprising considering the amount of people there were. What I ordered: 1. Egg white & cheese on multi-grain bread(toasted) — DELICIOUS! 2. Fat free Greek yogurt with granola, strawberries, & blueberries — SOGOOD and a big portion! Overall: I really enjoyed the food + loved the atmosphere!

I love this place, call me crazy but I really do. First of all, the staff listens and accommodates to your preferences. Why this has become such an issue at restaurants is beyond me. When we order specifications like– no mayo, no cream, well done, sub sweet potato fries, salad etc, every request is met or considered. Thanks I appreciate it! Now the food always comes out quick, is neat, and solid. It’s some of the best diner food I’ve had, with the best service. (I love your sweet potato fries, and gracious hot tea/coffee refills) The final Hurrah is the staff, they always go an extra mile for you, like offering you an extra slice of pecan pie on the house. Thanks Gracie Mews, All your efforts are noted and appreciated. — — — - Should note that I’ve never been here before 10pm.

Exactly what I was looking for on a saturday morning brunch. We were seated very quickly unlike other spots in nyc, and our meals were also quickly served. The pancakes were light and fluffy just the way they should be. Ordered fresh strawberries on the side and my boy got a fruit bowl for $ 3. Well worth it.

Great diner if you just want a straight forward no UES frills meal. Went here for breakfast — got the banana pancakes with two eggs on the side and some bacon. No complaints, friendly wait staff. Boyfriend for the meat lovers omelette — nothing super special but sometimes that’s just enough! Better than other diners in the area! Boom!

E-Scale: 8⁄10 I really really really love their coffee. Their food is fine and the portions are great but what really wowed me was the coffee. I drink a lot of cheap diner/bodega coffee and Gracie Mews is my favorite. It’s not always worth the 10 block trek but if I need good coffee and exercise, I’m at Gracies!

I’ve only been here once, but I liked this diner’s atmosphere. Its location in UES means there might be some interesting people coming through and sharing a dessert after their black tie event(spotted!). I was just here for a quick bite with a gentleman. I had fries and he had a cup of coffee. It’s like a little tasty break between the crazy happenings surrounding you in NYC. My food, by the way, came out lightning fast out of he kitchen. If you’re in a hurry — come here! And of course, it’s really cheap, which means your hard earned money can be used on something more productive like another drunk painting class.
