Was kicked out of a booth b/c I was eating alone. I was told I needed to sit at the counter. After waiting almost 30min for a seat, I left. Horrible treatment… Better going to the diner up the block where they do not care where you sit regardless of how many ppl you may or may not have.

Just ordered a grilled cheese deluxe with cheese on the fries, and the total order came to $ 8.75. WTF did I just order??? This is my first and last time coming to the over priced shit. The cheese is burnt and partially covers the fries.

They refused my $ 20 bill because the corner was torn off(see photo). I had nothing else on me, and the part I especially took issue with was the rude way they dealt with it. The man behind the counter refused to look me in the eye, speaking past me to another customer once he saw the bill. I appreciate that they gave me the egg cream for free, but he hurried me out of the mostly empty diner. Go to Dale’s next door – also open 24 hours, and so friendly(see my review of them). Two stars instead of one because maybe he was having an off day, and hey – the egg cream was fine.

Horrible service. The workers there are rude and always seem upset. Also the price they tell you doesnt match the menu. Pancakes taste like baking soda. Dale diner up the block is way better(they actually remember ur name and face plus food is better). Just a warning dont go to gold mine café u will be dissapointed.

Nothing fancy by any stretch and sometimes service can be iffy, but if you want great food at super cheap prices 24/7, this is your spot.

Do you mine for gold? Sustaining a substantial breakfast is gold. In scanning their menu + the limitation on time available, I elect the quickest items: toast with butter and hot green tea $ 2.40. Gold Mine Café is an old fashioned diner open 24⁄7 for breakfast, lunch and dinner serving Marble Hill, Bronx community. The menu offers a lot of options which breakfast can be served at 11PM in the late evening. Waffles at 11PM? Hellz yeah! Family friendly diner therefore no alcohol which equate to no trouble, no spats, no bar brawl incurs here. Minimal seating of booths and tables in a diner setting. Price is moderate. Atmospheric conditions of furniture and interior appears very dated to 1950s. Service is attentive, very efficient as all staff members checked on me three times if I was served or my order was in progress. Business card is a magnet.

Best deli in town, gives it the old school feeling just walking in there(eating in is a very nice experience) affordable prices. Only thing I kinda have troubles with is understanding the gentleman that takes your order over phone(barely understand his English) other than that beat fresh food .nice brewed coffee .the best

Use to be my favorite ghetto spot to eat at 4am but now it has become just my all time favorite diner. The man behind the grill Mario is the man! I’m always amaze by watching him cook like 15 meals at the same time. He remembers you and everything. The prices has gone up after its new look but I still love it. Only thing I feel they changed are there french fries but it could just be me. GREATPLACE!

This place is pretty rockin. New look and I think under new management. Probably one of the best 24 hour breakfast and dinner places within the Bronx. My order came out on time(had French toast with eggs an beacon) good quality, great taste. I would recommend anyone to come and chill here.

This 24 hour dinner is the ultimate hangout spot! It’s right next to Louie’s diner and if you don’t have enough money for Louie’s then go next door to gold mine! PROS –this is a 24⁄7 dinner this place is always open no matter bad weather, hurricane, tornado, earthquakes best believe it will still be serving food — offers dinner food so has a wide selection of food from breakfast to late night Italian dinners. –has seats where you can stay in and eat or you can pack it to go. –staff is pretty funny and family run so if your in the area and you are a regular you can’t help but say hi CONS –they serve absolutely no liquor at all, so no beer or cocktails folks –seats are very limited so sometimes you might have to just take it home — lines can get long because of the fact that the stores open 24⁄7 Overall this place serves the neighborhood well and i always keep coming back to this place as long as I’m in this area!

This place is great, I’m obsessed with their omelette! Why the lonely star? I’ve ordered from this place a couple of times and noticed how their prices are inconsistent. I compare their food prices to gas prices, one day there normal and one day your questioning WTH did I order. I’ve ordered in 3 separate days an American cheese omelet with turkey bacon(it comes with home fires). 1 time $ 7.4something, 2 time $ 8.7something and today was $ 10.25!!! I was like ok, did I order a twin burger by mistake? Nope… I like their omelette but WTF are you selling me? Last time I come here, I understand they want to preserve that old cash register but holy sh** man! all I wanted was some breakfast.

EXTREMELYFRIENDLYWAITSTAFF! Great for burgers, eggs, etc. If you’re adventurous, give their Pastichio(Greek Lasagna) a try. Rather than ziti or penne, they use the type of long Greek pasta that is one of the signatures of the dish. The Pastichio comes with a tasty and light as air layer of bechamel sauce on the top. Do wish they’d use a touch more cinnamon in the meat sauce but regardless, it’s a great deal and comes with a salad. If it’s on the specials menu, give the Chicken Oreganata a shot. I/2 a chicken, loaded with garlic, lemon and of course OREGANO and it comes with a salad as well. Both are steals for the price. Really tasty Chicken Gyro as well. My only negative is that the Tzaziki(sp?) sauce used to have more of a kick before they renovated. The prior sauce was a bit thicker(more yogurt perhaps), was loaded with garlic and had a great bite and zing to it. Wish they would go back to their previous recipe on that. Otherwise, it’s still a go to at night when I get off the subway and don’t feel like cooking dinner. I’ve even called when I hit Dyckman Street and have ordered, so that it’s ready by the time I reach 231st. Can’t go wrong with that! FYI — the place is owned by the family who owns Broadway Pizza and Pasta across the street. It’s definitely a family affair as you’ll see Father, Mother, Son, Daughter, Nieces, Nephews, Son-in-laws, etc. working their tails off!

Newly renovated, friendly staff, good food for any part of the day, breakfast, lunch, dinner, desert, and the best thing, they serve all kinda of food at any time. Breakfast for dinner = Win :). Limited space for seating, but worth it. A great late night food spot as well. Not to mention it won’t break your pockets either… Try it of you haven’t already.
