Very flavorful and cooked thoroughly(something I always worry about with chicken). If youve had wings from Bön Chon before then youll definitely love these as well. Crisp skin without being overdone. While I wish they offered fried rice as an option, thats just a personal preference and does not affect my thoughts on the food. The one thing I will say is if you come with an appetite, dont play yourself like I did and only get 5 wings. I ended up ordering 5 more… thank me later!!! Who knew you could find good food other than Spanish food up in the Heights!!!

I first found this place when I was craving for Korean food. I’m glad that I don’t have to go all the way from Inwood to Korea town to get my Soy Garlic chicken fix. The staff is friendly and they’re Korean so I think this says a lot about how much they know the cuisine. :) I have read reviews about people not being satisfied witht the Ramen, but I never come here for that. I have yet to try their bulgogi and bibimbap. Meanwhile, I’ll enjoy my crispy, flavorful fried chicken.

I’ve been to GoGo-Gi and usually have a really good experience. However, the food i got yesterday was the strangest«Korean» I have ever had in my life. I got the Beef Bulgogi and there were french fries mixed in with the cabbage and onions, as well as red peppers. It’s like they emptied their freezer and were like«let’s take this person on a WILD ride through our leftovers.» Also they inexplicably gave me coleslaw. I’m not saying don’t come… it’s just you can’t really say what you’re going to get.

Small shop mostly to go food. Few plastic chairs but no one really stays to eat. Ordered the chicken GoGo-Gi. It comes with white rice, some pickled veggies and some sort of green wasabi frappé dip. I had my hopes up for this place. Looking forward to a decent Korean meal but it was utterly a disappointment. The chicken tasted bland and very oily, the dip was flat. It’s a mom and pop shop so its good to support them. There seems to be a lot of hospital regulars waiting for their orders, a good sign I suppose. But I really didn’t like the chicken. I barely was able to get past the oiliness and all I could think of is the $ 10.50 I paid. Not sure if I will try them again.

I just love this place. My favourite food is the Barbeque Bulgogi, but they have excellent ramen, too. They are efficient and sociable, although they should smile more and try to make some more PR things. Despite this, I am going to this place every day basically, as I work in the nearby Presbyterian Hospital.

I thought Boka was the best Korean Fried Chicken I had until I came across this place. The spicy wings/tenders are INTENSE! The best thing about them is that they remember regular customers and occasionally give them free Kimchi or other appetizers.

Very disappointed by their ramen, would have been better off buying a $ 2 package, egg dumped into the broth, no vegetables.

I must agree with most of the previous Unilocalers whom have visited Gogogi, this is truly a hidden gem. After trying it on a Thursday, I had to return on Friday! I tried the Gogogi Chicken, both ways first spicy and then garlic. It comes w/a side of «coleslaw» and a side of rice, they happily obliged to substitute the white rice for brown rice(the coleslaw isn’t typical American coleslaw.) They pack a small green sauce with the order, I assumed it was wasabi based– it’s not, it’s actually cilantro based– it’s delicious!

A Korean joint kind of sticks out like a sore thumb in this section of Washington Heights. Still, it’s enough to catch your attention and draw you in when you just can’t stomach any more Dominican food, Chipotle, or Wendy’s when it comes to a quick workday lunch. The small menu is dominated by bulgogi, Korean fried chicken, Spicy Squid, and ramen(for only $ 7!). Still, the bulgogi is rich and flavorful. A random side note: their cole slaw is AMAZING. Who would have thought some of my favorite cole slaw would come from a Korean place? Ha! It’s loaded with fresh dill; I could eat an entire bucket of it, no shame. In addition, my bulgogi is always served on top of French fries, which I can’t quite explain, nor can I complain about. Haaa. This place is a gem with great food and a lovely and friendly staff. As I mentioned, it’s a great alternative to the same ol’, same ol’ that’s in this section of WaHi.

This place is awesome! Friendly staff and damn tasty. Quick and filling. If you go spicy on the go-go gi chicken, prepare yourself for a rollercoaster of flaming deliciousness. Just ate there, already thinking about what to get next time!

This place is number-1 under the sun! You may think you’ve had ‘korean’ wings before, and may have even enjoyed them. You may believe you’ve found the ‘best wings in town’. I thought so, too, frequently praying at the greasy altars of the big name wing boys on my lunch breaks. Boy was I wrong. To be blunt, GoGo Gi makes bonchon taste like chicken nuggets. GoGo’s immaculately double-fried, sticky-sauced, baby-fist sized wings put those twice-frozen limp-skinned chain-store pigeon fingers to shame. I did not know you could make batter so crispy. I have put it in the fridge overnight and microwaved it the next day, only to find the crispy coating intact, crunchy, and continuing to cradle the moisture of the meat. Super pumped to try some other offerings. I came SO close to deducting a star because of their excruciatingly short hours, but I would truly be doing the food a disservice. I only wish they would stay open late enough for me to order delivery around 9 when I get home from work! I swear it is the only restaurant in the city that closes at 7:30.

This place was alright for fast food. Unfortunately they had recently taken the bibimbap off the menu, which was disappointing. I ended up getting bulgolgi(spelling on that?) which was fine. I was a bit surprised by the inlcusion of french fries with the meat. I didn’t feel very authentic. This might not be the place for authentic food though… I had some kimchi on the side, which was good. The staff was very helpful when I realized the bibimbap was off the menu, and he kindly suggested some alternatives for me. I was not unhappy with the place, but I don’t think I’ll return.

Gods be good, my prayers have been answered. In order to really appreciate GoGo-Gi, you have to understand that there are virtually NO Korean restaurants in Washington Heights. The culinary landscape is dominated by Dominican/Latin food(not necessarily a bad thing) and your standard Chinese take-out. Perhaps I am too mystified by the unicorn that is this restaurant, but it is a welcome addition to Washington Heights. In any case, the food here is Korean take-out, so don’t expect it to resemble the fare in Ktown. It is inexpensive, but filling Korean food. Give the size of the restaurant(there is seating, but it is VERY cramped), it’s unsurprising that the menu isn’t the most expansive. However, their BBQ bulgogi is absolutely delicious. I highly recommend it and for the price(10.50, which also included rice and cole slaw), I will definitely return here again and again.

This place is for take out. It can seat 6 at counter style seats. There are very few choices in this neighborhood that I love this place for that reason alone. A quick soup or bulgogi goes a long way if you have been eating Dominican and diner food for days!

I only had the Korean style chicken wings but they were great! Think General Gao chicken but much lighter, crisper and a lot spicier. This place is more of a takeout and delivery restaurant. Too bad their delivery radius doesn’t reach me.

5 stars really? In washington heights really? I would eat here everyday and I pretty much already do after a long day’s work, I deserve it… Whole in the wall, unassuming asian oasis in a sea of domincan and mcdonalds and wendy’s(not that there’s anything wrong with these). I’ve nearly tried everything there: #Gogogi chicken — this is a must get when you first come here, essentially korean fried chicken to the likes of bon chon with rice and sauteed veggies, kimchi radish. and delicious aoili to accompany the chicken which comes in spicy and garlic. #Next spicy pork or spicy squid — pretty spicy just the way I like it, great flavors and cooked perfectly, you can tell the flavor have been marinating for a while. And again the mixed onions and veggies are a great accompaniment. #Kalbi — equally as good as the dish mentioned above, but comes with fries? not sure about this one #not yet tried the bimbimbap… and afraid to try the ramen but perhaps one day. OVERALL — haven’t yet had a bad bit of food here. And as an added bonus, they owners are really nice, looks like a family run business. They deliver as well.
