Over the years my family always bought multiple boxes of Godiva chocolates usually during the holidays and for special occasions and a few times in between. It USEDTOBE premium chocolate. It has now been reduced to something on par with a Hershey bar, which in my opinion tastes BETTER than Godiva chocolate. Yesterday I bought my absolute LAST purchase of chocolate from this company. I bought a few bags of their«Truffles» dark, milk and assorted. They tasted like the 25 cent candies next to the register at any drugstore. No flavor, mushy and in no way any quality to them. Barely tasted like real chocolate. I was so disappointed. Lindt and Li-Lac Chocolates are 100x better than this junk they call chocolate at Godiva. Goodbye Godiva forever.

Slightly-nicer but about-the-same-size Godiva within the MetLife Building(whic sits confusingly across from another even-numbered 230 Park). Nice sample of surprisingly good twist ice cream at the entrance, and really friendly staff throughout. Went to redeem $ 10 off $ 10 birthday month deal for 3 large bars(not a deal in its own right, even with their almost-storewide 25% off — which apparently didn’t stack with my $ 10) Also redeemed my free chocolate of the month on a radioactive-looking pumpkin cheesecake truffle, which emerged from their cool little sliding display in the center. PS this is a dup of

Yes I am a chocoholic. And no, Godiva is not the best chocolatier New York has to offer. That being said, for a Unilocaler that works near Grand Central Terminal, this is probably the easiest option for a decadent chocolate shake, a small(yet safe) gift, or to enjoy a champagne truffle. With only Cucina on the opposite side along with mediocre food options in the Concourse, Godiva’s presence actually adds a little bit of class to the building. Luckily for visitors, this location is open on weekends. You seldom have to worry about lines here aside from the three days leading up to and including that Hallmark holiday on February 14th.

Currently under renovation, the Grand Central store only has a small outpost now. Apparently the bigger area will be re-opening in September, so not too far from now. Jackie helped me pick out two delicious treats: One for me to enjoy on my day off, and one to share with my handsome hubster later. I already loved one and I’m sure the second will be a hit later. Great!

Stopped by here today and was pleasantly surprised by free samples – red velvet truffle. Absolutely to die for. I bought the death by chocolate parfait, which was okay. Bite-size piece for $ 2.50, not including tax. The staff here are incredibly nice; insanely nice. However, on my way out the woman gave me an extra dark chocolate truffle to sample, which I would’ve greatly appreciated but it was so old that it crumbled and fell apart when I opened it. Ew…

Godiva has some excellent products and most are made fresh regularly. The employees at this location are very nice and helpful and they often have samples available. They will even send you coupons and promotions available if you give them your email address. The chocolates are excellent and make for an excellent treat. A bit pricey so definitely not for an everyday snack.

Godiva is God Awful! I think at some point this«Wal-Mart of Chocolate» used to use quality ingredients, but as of late they are terrible and the prices are even worse. The staff knows nothing, they don’t allow you to sample selections and the chocolate tastes sub-standard. Any chocolatier should encourage samples as it is appropriate at these price points and excellent way to sell the stuff. However, here you have to buy a piece to sample, which is just rancid. For chocolate, I recommend La Maison, Li-lac and Neuhaus. Godiva leaves a lot to be desired, which chocolate should not do.
