I’ve devoured char-grilled meats here since I was a little junior high Asian wannabe thug in the 90s. And unlike the rest of corporate America, inflation does not exist on this sanctified corner of sausages and shish kabobs as the prices have literally remained the same since over 10 years ago. It’s a two partner business usually run by the grill master, Matty, who my best friend and I used to call The Fat Bastard, because he was a mean cuss of a man and thus, we actually provided the moniker, «Fat Bastard Hot Dogs.» This place was awesome because it was conveniently located across the street from our favorite card shop, as in sports, Marvel, and Magic cards. That’s right! Wannabe Asian thugs can play a mean Magic the Gathering too! Since then, Matty has actually gotten softer and has lost the«bastard» in him, leaving him simply fat. He’s actually a pretty cool guy and you’ll always find him chatting it up with his customers, saying hello to random people here and there, all while slinging finely grilled meats to all comers. He is a neighborhood fixture. Hot Sausages are $ 1.75 and so are the Shish Kabobs. Hot Dogs are $ 1 along with any canned beverages. I don’t usually get anything else but saw that he had Italian Sausages, Cheeseburgers, and Gyros for $ 4. He’s got a few other things as well, but to be honest, I’ll always love my Sausages Hot and my Kabobs Shish.
