I stayed at the Hotel Gansevoort(Meatpacking District) last month for several days. Someone in the hotel room next to ours was assaulted(see my pictures as posted on your Unilocal and Facebook pages); the hotel tried to cover everything up and not call the police after we reported the incident via the pictures we encountered. There were absolutely disgusting, freshly smelling blood stains-just like a murder scene-on the walls in the hallway next to our room shortly after a man, apparently our hotel neighbor, was harshly escorted from their rooftop nightclub. Apparently, the scuffle involved a «high class» lady and her sugar daddy. The hotel came running out with bleach to clean up the walls but the hotel reported nothing and begged us to merely report it is a «noise disturbance»? We took photos of the cleaning crew cleaning the walls as evidence; the crew was not happy about this, but, frankly, the way they handled such an incident in a «high-class» establishment demonstrates the lack of professional demeanor and desire to not become involved in legal troubles. We have been trying to get a full refund for our room as per the horrendous nature of what occurred next door but nothing has been done. Also, there was a $ 2000 charge on my credit card after our stay, NONE of which should have been there. I am STILL fighting to get it removed and will soon be taking matters up via a credit card dispute. The hotel also charged us for calling their hotel to report the blood stains. Also, perhaps this is unrelated, but, the image of your hotel as one of glamour and being filled with«models» is true if you define such as euro trashed loudmouths or strange old men impressed with their pocketbooks. I’ve written to numerous news outlets about my experience and hope to spread the word about your lack of respect for guests.
