Gabes House of Flowers

Been going to Gabes House of Flowers since 1995, I have used them for Birthday bouquets to Mother’s Day flowers all the way to outfit Cipriani In Midtown for a charity event I was the coordinator for. They have always come through and with amazing prices. They will work to create a beautiful arrangement for whatever suits your budget.

I used to be a very loyal customer to Gabes House of Flowers. Since they moved out of NYC however, the quality of their work has declined. They seem more concerned about getting paid and making you promises that they simply do NOT keep. When I contacted them to complain, they actually argued with me. Here’s what happened. I wanted 15 Floral Arrangements. 7 of them were on white frosted Eiffel tower vases WHICH I PROVIDED and to save on costs, I asked them for a high/​low look and for that, to create 6×6×6 white frosted cubes for the 6 remaining centerpieces. I made it clear I wanted them to use the baby’s breath that has a larger, fluffier blooom like fun time ESM or overtime and they said yes. They collected my funds and on the day before my party, they arrived at the venue. The tall eiffel tower vases were filled with very cheap baby’s breath. You saw more green than white and the green floral foam was visible. Also, the white frosted cubes which would have matched the frosted eiffel tower vases did not come. They took a bunch of bay’s breath and just placed them inside of one of those «S» shaped vases that look like you can get them at the dollar store. When I called to complain, they told me the «s» vases were more expensive than the white cubes I asked for. But I told them, «They don’t match»!!! They were not concerned. They also did not care that they used the cheapest babys breath available. I ended up saving my own day by going to a floral wholesaler, G&G and buying the frosted vases. Then I ordered for next day delivery the right type of babys breath and spent $ 300 correcting their mistakes. In the end, I got great compliments, but not thanks to Gabes, IN SPITE OF THEM! Don’t trust their word anymore. For them it’s all about staying in business, not pleasing their customers like they used to.
