If you don’t know what you’re doing, DONOTGOINTHERE! English is not spoken here. The English part of the menu is all wrong! The staff can’t read English so they don’t know that. You order the wonton soup special and you get something completely different because the chinese words next to it say something else. And you know what? YOU’RE the one thats wrong, not them! don’t believe me? call them! the number’s right here.

Fujian /Fukin style restaurants are becoming more and more prevalent in the ever-changing Chinatown nowadays. Fu Zhow Restaurant has been around for awhile, catering to the palates of many locals and fewer tourists. It is hard not to like this place. They do a great job of whipping up some Fujian style specialties(Meatball soup, sweet dumpling soup, or even He Fen) for around $ 2 each and their family style dishes have been a hit with friends that wanted a break from the Canal side of Chinatown. The sliced conch and braised Fuzhou style tofu are my favorites here. Service is pleasant and they are quite proficient in Hokkien, Cantonese, and Mandarin(not so sure about English, but someone has to speak it!). The interior is super dodgy, but so are most places around this side of Chinatown. They’re open late too, the last time I was here was 3AM or so and the food still tasted great.
