The place was right around the Rockefeller center. After few days of Indian and Tibetan food, we were craving some ramen. Found this place on the Unilocal and decided try around since we were right around the area. It was pretty hard to find and we would have easily walked past it without noticing it because it on the second floor. The décor and the interior of the place is pretty simple but i enjoyed the excess amount of sunlight next to the window and also watching people walk and enjoy the sun. We ordered the Tonkatsu spicy ramen, the ramen itself was full of different amount of ingredient, they give you good amount of meat too. I wasn’t a big of fan of the broth though. It was a little too heavy for my taste. I didn’t hate it but i don’t i’ll be back for a while.

Okay place. Hard to find a seat during lunch time. Don’t want to go back again.

Just-ok. I don’t find the soup overly salty as others mentioned, but it definitely lacks flavor. I ordered their popular tonkatsu ramen to go and luckily I work a few steps away from this joint. If I had waited longer to eat this ramen, the noodles would have been slimy. The bowl consists of raw bean sprouts, ginger, dry tofu skin, 2 piece of pork and shredded corn. For $ 13 ramen, which is the same price as Totto ramen and almost as pricey as Ippudo, this bowl is a big disappointment. Not worth it.

A decent hidden gem on 48th st. The 2nd floor location made some people missed it. I had ramen and curry from there before. The ramen was not too salty, reasonable for lunch. Is it better than Totto or Ipudo? No. The curry was good and decent portion. Way enough for the lunch. The price was reasonable for a café around the area.

The brown rice bowl with beef came back to me in my dreams. What else can I say but urge you to please try that goodness for your lunch? Also had their delicious ramen… super. Great place

Veggie Gyoza and Miso soup are my go-to’s. Veggie ramen is decent. Looking for a cool lunch spot? Try it.

The owner needs to taste the food. As Asian, it’s pretty difficult to make Asian food this lacking. I ordered the glass noodle with seafood, the shrimp and the calamari are unflavorable to say the least, and disgusting, for lack of better words, i dont even how to describe the shrimp, it’s very mushy and sort of sticky. It doesnt look right when i opened it, and when i decided to try it, the moment i bit on it I spit it out. Its a weird texture i cant describe, but bad bad bad… The glass noodle is extremely mediocre. I ordered over $ 100 for the office now and Im embarrassed with regret.

I went for the full pork experience. Spicy Pork Tonkatsu Ramen with extra Pork and Pork Gyoza on the side. It was very satisfying! The ramen and dumplings were ready in 2 minutes flat.

Once, I stepped into Kitto by accident, thinking it was an upstairs seating area as a part of Graso Grill. Obviously, the atmosphere is COMPLETELY different, but honestly, you may have to opt for Graso Grill… Although it slightly resembles a sit-down restaurant, this is a order in the front, pick-up and sit down type of place, as many of the restaurants in midtown are. I went with the kitto set(originally $ 14.50, but it came out to $ 12 – 13 because they had a special either on Tuesday or Wednesday, I can’t remember). This kitto set includes one pork bun of your choice, a salad with what I believe is peanut sauce, and a large bowl of ramen — your pick. I went with the pork belly bun, and unfortunately it had very little pork and very much bun. I love pork buns, but this just didn’t do it for me. The salad is also plain, very little complaints there. The ramen was pretty good. I had the the tonkotsu ramen and honestly, it was really really good. Just maybe a little too salty. Did I think it would be worth $ 15…maybe, but I’m really used to lunch spots here who serve $ 10, and if you’re going to upcharge, it better be really good. The lines aren’t too long around 12:30 and the service is super quick. It just may get hard to find a table, which is pretty bad if you’re holding a heavy tray of ramen and waiting around for a table to clear up.

Came here to grab a quick lunch to go. After reading the options, I decided on the noodle lunch option because it said it’d cone with a noodle, meat, riceball, seaweed salad, and fruit foot around $ 14. Seemed like a great deal to me. I got the spicy soba with grilled chicken. In under a few minutes, I got my food and was disappointed… instead of the riceball they just gave me a scoop of plain white rice(they said that they had changed it. Well then change the menu too!), the quantity of seaweed salad was so small… It was literally one bite, and the grilled chicken was dry too. Next time I’ll just go to Grasso which is right underneath for a cheaper and more filling lunch.

3.5 stars. Fresh ingredients, friendly service, cute place, really yummy soba noodles. Don’t forget to check out the chalkboards on the side for the daily special! I got the spicy summer soba noodle bowl with tofu and was pretty happy with it, especially with three large pieces of soft tofu and overall fairly generous portion size. The food isn’t spectacular for the price but is still decent and fresh — good place to stop at for lunch.

Ordered the spicy Tonkotsu ramen for delivery at 11:53am on a rainy Monday and was delightfully surprised that the food arrived at 12:25pm promptly. The broth was separated in its own container while all the rest of the ingredients were in a decent sized plastic bowl. I have to say I liked that they did that because(1) it made sure the noodles were not soggy on arrival and(2) it allowed me to heat up the broth(note: the broth was pretty warm on arrival I just like my soup really hot). I’ve had the spicy Tori ramen at the restaurant before and have to say the quality of the delivery ramen was just as good as in restaurant. I’m giving them a high rating because they delivered on time during rush hour on a rainy week day and the quality was just as good in store. That said, I do need to say this place is no Toto Ramen. The broth is a little too oily to my liking and I’m not a big fan of the ginger and bamboo shoots. The braised pork belly was plentiful and cooked very well. There was some cartilage and bone which I wish I didn’t have to deal with in a soup, especially when just using chop sticks and a spoon. Overall, if you are in the midtown area and have a craving for ramen and don’t have the time to go and wait in line for Totto Ramen, then I would recommend this place. P. S. My colleague ordered the braised pork belly buns and said they were delicious. I’ll try that next time and let you all know.

Pretty average food, but makes for a nice quick lunch. 3.5 stars in reality. I used to come here a lot. Like, have gotten 9 stamps twice already a lot(10th meal that does not exceed $ 12 free). Today I got the tonkatsu ramen with extra noodles. It totaled out to be around $ 15, and was seriously the largest portion of ramen I’ve ever received. I kae dama pretty frequently at other ramen shops, but I actually did not finish my bowl of ramen today. Kudos to Kitto for providing large servings, that’s for sure! So the restaurant itself is quite small, but very tidy. It’s easy to walk by, as it’s actually the upstairs of a Boar’s Head deli. It’s very much almost«fast food» styled ramen. you order at the register(menu’s on the wall), they give you a receipt, call your number, and you get it on a tray. The menu itself actually carries a fair bit of variety. There’s ramen, there’s pork buns and other appetizers, and there’s also bibimbap. It gets pretty crowded during lunch hours. I got there at 1:15PM and all the tables were taken. Thankfully by the time my friend showed up and we ordered, parties started clearing out and we got a table. Anyway, back to the ramen. Like I said, huge bowl of ramen if you order extra noodles($ 2). To the point where there’s almost not enough broth. Almost not enough, but still sufficient. The tonkatsu ramen comes with maybe 4 or 5 pieces of meat. The meat itself can be a little too fatty, but overall pretty decent. The noodles are good, but not spectacular. They can get a bit soggy, but still pretty decent. The ingredients themselves are pretty fresh, but not gonna lie I felt a bit sick from trying to eat such a large serving of ramen today! Definitely not a place for a date or anything, but swing by if you’re in the area for a quick ramen lunch!

I went here yesterday for a quick lunch with friends. Despite the fact that this place has a Japanese name, offers japanese drinks(like Sake and Japanese iced tea brands), and serves mainly ramen, they strangely also have bulgogi(a Korean beef dish) and bahn mi(typically, if not exclusively, Vietnamese) on the menu. I stuck with ordering a ramen dish cause getting bulgogi or bahn mi at a ramen shop is akin to getting texmex at a chinese take-out place… Just cause the options are available doesn’t mean they’ll taste good.(Needless to say, I’m quite cynical about the whole«Asian fusion» craze.) I ordered the spicy tonkatsu ramen bowl while my friends ordered a glass noodle combo bento box set and a bulgogi bowl. I didn’t try my friends’ dishes so I can’t attest to how theirs tasted. My ramen bowl was fantastic — just the right amount of spice and the slices of pork belly were deliciously tender and flavorful. My only complaint is that they skimped on the ramen and the meat. For the hefty price of $ 11 – 13 bucks per bowl, I’m used to absolutely ginormous portions. Instead, I ran out of noodles way too fast, and the pork belly slices were disgracefully small. I was left swishing around a bunch of unwanted herbs and veggies in the end. Of course, you can get extra meat or ramen but that’s an extra buck or two, and for that price, I could get a feast at any other ramen shop. As far as ramen goes, there are better places in the city. It was quite interesting that they offered imported sake in the drinks section, though a single jar costs about $ 10. Ridiculous. There is also a credit card minimum of $ 15. Service: 3⁄5 — decent, nothing special cause it’s a food court style serving system where you clean up after yourself Food: 3⁄5 — again, decent, but for the price, you could get amazing food elsewhere in the city Atmosphere: 3⁄5 — clean, nice little shop for a quick lunch in the midtown area, though seating is limited since Kitto only takes up the 2nd floor of the building Overall: 3⁄5 — good, but not worth the price

Solid takeout Korean with a bit of a hipster touch to it. It gets INSANELYPACKED at lunchtime during the week, but you can order ahead online – or just squeeze in with the rest of us schmos. Recommend: vegetarian ramen, tofu bibimbap(make sure they don’t forget the gochujang). Prices are steep, but the ingredients are generally very fresh. It’s a nice addition to the bi-weekly rotary of lunchables.

+ Tonkatsu Ramen– Delicious broth, 4 pieces of marinated juicy pork cuts, and slightly chewy ramen. + Staff is energetic and smiles which enhances the ramen flavor. + Marketing incentive — Stamp for each order. Order 9 and get 1 free! — Can be quite pricey for ramen. — $ 15 minimum credit card use. Slight inconvenience. — Limited seating during lunch. Occasionally have to wait for seats.

very good al dente ramen. However, the only problem with this place is that the prices are in the $ 12-$ 13 range after tax for a bowl of ramen. But I can’t deny that they make a really good ramen. They also offer a stamp card that rewards you for eating here often.

I don’t know why this place doesn’t have better reviews. I’ve been here many times before, and the food is excellent. The service is great, and all of the workers are really friendly. The food comes out rather quickly. I’ve had the pork buns(oh my gosh, the bun is so soft), and the memories of the sauce is making me salivate right now. I’ve also had the Vietnamese noodles and spicy ramen — the soup is definitely great for those cold windy days, and the noodles are really soft(but not overly-cooked soft). The japchae is also great — I never thought I would find japchae comparable to my mom’s cooking, but this might be the spot! If you’re looking for a place that serves great asian fusion food but also has fast service, this is the place for you!

Kitto is like any other quick Asian-American eatery in the Midtown area — somewhat comparable to New York Kimchi down the same street to the west. The place is located on the 2nd floor and is quite busy even at 1:15pm. If you plan on eating in, you kind of have to awkwardly stalk people’s tables and pounce on the first available one — that being said, I’d probably recommend this place as take-out. I ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen, as that’s my go-to order at any ramen joint. I should have known better than to order ramen at a place that doesn’t specialize in making just ramen. The soup, while rich, was far too salty and didn’t really have much depth or flavor in it — all I could taste was salt. The«spicy» could barely be called spicy. Wasn’t really a fan of the ginger or the bamboo shoots that they put in as well — gave it a weird gingery sweet taste. The amount of noodles they gave you, however, was reasonable and the texture and consistency was just right. It came with 4 pieces of slightly fatty char siu that weren’t half bad, though it’s definitely better at other real ramen joints. At $ 13 after tax though, I’d much rather take my business to Totto Ramen. I did try some of my coworkers’ bibimbap and I’d say for the area, this is on par with New York Kimchi and probably better than Café Duke. The spicy pork is quite tasty, but it’s also pretty hard to mess that up. They said their dishes were«pretty good,» but stated that they wish they were bigger portions.

I like this place. If you’re in the mood for a quick fix Asian food, this is probably a good place to go. The menu ranges from bibimbaps to rice bowl to ramen and soba noodles. There’s also japchae! The service is quick, but it’s mostly self-serve. You pick up your food from the counter and the rest is up to you. Price ranges from 8 – 15 dollars, I would say. Not too bad. I got the bulgogi beef bibimbap and I liked it. It wasn’t amazing but it was pretty good. The portion is pretty generous as well. I tried my friends’ dishes too and they were all pretty good. We went around 6 on a Friday and it was completely empty. The place is pretty small so if you have a big group it might not be ideal during busy times.
