Four Cuts Steakhouse is a wonderful addition to the Sutton neighborhood. My husband, son and I dined at Four Cuts recently and found that the food was outstanding and the service wonderful. The owner Mirso has a warm inviting air about him that makes you feel like your dining at a close friends table. Also, the restaurant itself was designed with impeccable taste, as the interior décor is truly gorgeous. The host Rudolph was pleasant as the first face that greeted us and our waiter Gregory didn’t miss a beat. Overall, we can’t rave enough about Four Cuts. Our 10 year old(a finicky eater) had the macaroni and cheese as his main course (a special that night sans the lobster) and gave it five stars and said he wants to make this a regular stopover we visit often. That says it all! Impressive, delicious, a must go!

This restaurant would be fine if you came any random quiet night, but NOT a place i would ever go again for a special occasion. We came on New Years Eve and enjoyed the jazz band, but had an extremely difficult time with our server, who told us he’s a bartender who was serving due to their lack of staff that night. BIG mistake for the manager to give him a server job. He was not taking care of our requests, actually LEFT a dirty tray on our table that he was using to clear another table, and kept forgetting things we requested. He seemed very interested in his own needs and chatting with us about random things than actually focusing on giving us good service and a positive eating experience. We ordered a bottle of wine and he brought a DIRTY decanter to our table which he filled in front of us. We were too appalled to even talk to him because we didn’t want to engage him any further. Otherwise, the food was fine. Salmon tartare was ok, salon entrée was a little dry, side veggies were good portions and tasty, soups and salad were okay. Cant speak to their steaks. Bread was ehhh, wished it tasted fresher or was at least warmed. Truffle fries really had no truffle flavor, except for every now and then you’d get an occasion scent of truffle. Not at all my best meal experience.

I chose this restaurant for New Year’s Eve based on strong reviews, and the acclaim of the chef from various articles online. Unfortunately, based on the area and recent opening– they are clearly still working out the kinks. We arrived on time for our reservation and the maître d’ sat us at an awkward table in the back of the restaurant, which ended up being fine because we had a view of the band playing that night. But I was bumped into several times over the course of the night– very frustrating. The restaurant was very low key– did not fill up, and based on the quiet scene, the service was overly attentive, at one point we had to ask the server to give us a minute to look at the menu. And let me just drive this point home: The service was AWFUL. Our server was under qualified, overly talkative and knew not one thing about the menu. We asked him where the oysters were from — he had no idea(fairly basic). And did not even bother asking the kitchen! Also, our mains came out before we were even finished with our appetizers a huge(and awkward) no no. The server did inform us that they were understaffed for the night and he is typically the bartender. I noticed(and overheard) other tables receiving much better service. I was truly dumbfounded and embarrassed for my company as I had chosen the location. I don’t know if the matre d’ sat us here because we were by far the youngest guests in the location by 20 years, but I know restaurant etiquette and this was disastrous. Good luck, neighbors.

Went out to dinner tonight with my family. Stumbled upon Four Cuts and it was amazing. This restaurant came up on Unilocal as «Hot and New». Open for three months and I must say they definitely have their s$it together. Service was excellent. if you are lucky enough to get Gregory you will be well taken care of. Food was delicious. My brother and his wife pride themselves in sampling dry aged steaks. Not only did Gregory make wonderful suggestions when it came to picking our cuts, he split our appetizers and salads for our party to share. We had the bacon appetizer, Caesar salad, the tomahawk steak for two, a ribeye, filet mignon, creamed spinach, truffle fries, onion rings and a superb bottle of wine. Which I cannot remember the name even though Gregory took the time to help me pronounce it correctly. Great place, which I know in a couple of months once the word gets out will be up there with the best of them.

Excellent steakhouse experience. I was dining solo so I skipped the appetizer and salad section. I went with the Ribeye, sauteed mushrooms, and creamed spinach. The waiter did ask if that was all, which concerned me, luckily that was more than enough. The ribeye is bone in, and comes sizzling on a plate cut for you. The spinach is a large serving enough for 3 or 4 people, same for the mushrooms. It was a great NYC steakhouse experience, the menu is limited but executed very well.

Just had the juiciest most delicious ribeye in years. Just the right amount of fat cooked medium rare to perfection, complemented with baked spud and cream spinach. Great atmosphere at the bar, mostly local wine and steak lovers. Bartender Mike was loads of fun, had us taste few different varietals that goes well with the steak, and I don’t mean just regular Cali cab but plummy Tuscan’s, Washington state, French Burgundy’s after we settled with Mendocino county Butchers Blend. We finished the night with Sazerac and Negroni great digestives after a big dinner. Love it feel full and happy. Will be back very soon.

Went for dinner last night and absolutely loved it. It’s a solid neighborhood steakhouse that did not disappoint! The dining area is small but nice, clientele was mostly older Sutton Place couples, so definitely not a chic or even rowdy kind of place, but instead very pleasant and comfortable. Our waiter Gregory was fun and super knowledgable. He kept it real with us all night, guiding the timing of our courses perfectly! We started with oysters, clams, crab, lobster and shrimp cocktail. FRESHESTSEAFOOD!!! The crab cocktail was literally a mound of huge chunks of fresh crabmeat. DELICIOUS! Then we tried the french onion soup. Very very tasty. Next, we shared the rib eye with truffle butter and a side of sautéed mushrooms. FANTASTIC! The steak was cooked perfectly, and we appreciated that Gregory advised us in advance not to order two entrees. We would have more than enough. Classy! For dessert we tried the crème brûlée and chocolate cake. They were good but not stellar. But, we didn’t come for the dessert. ;) My only suggestion for the restaurant would be to curtain off the entrance to the bathrooms. We were sitting at a table in front of that area and it was very distracting(and kind of gross) watching people go in and out.

First of all, it’s great to have an option for fine dining in this neighborhood. All around great food and ambience. The wait staff just so professional and informed. I hope people trek out to first avenue to eat at this gem of a restaurant. It just opened last month but they clearly have their act together already.

Stopped in yesterday afternoon with some work colleagues as we were in town for a meeting. Had a *fabulous* experience with both the food and the waitstaff. The food was delicious and the customer service was top notch. I would seek this place out again when I am back simply for how well we were treated. The steaks were amazing. But I also have to note that the bacon«appetizer» was about the most delicious bacon I ever had in my live — and one slice itself is almost a meal. keep up the good work!

Fantastic meal and — easy to enjoy for the two vegetarians at the table as well as the carnivores. I’m definitely a conflicted omnivore who LOVED the salmon tartare and have to say the porterhouse was perfect! Easy ambiance for conversation(think it was jazz playing in the background) — it was a tuesday so i don’t know how busy it gets later in the week. There were a couple of good wine options by the glass, loved our waiter(blanking on his name unfortunately at the moment, but everyone was great).

I had a wonderful dining experience at Four Cuts, as the food, service and atmosphere were all top notch. The food was simply put, amazing. The Porterhouse at this restaurant is out of this world. Cooked and seasoned to perfection, this steak was truly impressive. The other dishes(such as the seafood platter, which crab and cocktail shrimp) and the lamb, we’re also standouts. Our server was very accommodating and attentive, and made sure we were comfortable the whole time. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant, perfect for dining and conversation. I will be coming back again!

Went here for dinner the other night with a few friends. I started my meal with the Caesar salad, which I very much enjoyed. The croutons tasted homemade and were delicious. As for the steaks, they were unbelievable! We opted to go with the truffle butter on the porterhouse, and it was cooked to perfection. The crust on that steak was legitimately perfect and didn’t need anything else to accompany it. I’m still swooning over how good that was and can’t wait to go back again!

Went here for dinner with a few friends. Started the meal sharing the seafood appetizer consisting of shrimp and crabmeat. As a seafood lover it was fantastic I could not get enough. The crabmeat melts in your mouth. For the main course we chose the Porterhouse. The steak was perfectly cooked. I can’t wait to come back!

I’ve never given a 5 for any review. Reason for this one is because of their steak, plain and simple. I’ve tried many in the City: Morton’s, DelFrisco’s, Peter Lugers, Keen’s, Gallagher’s, etc., and although they’re all very good, the meat at Four Cuts is good as well, however, it’s the sear and crust they put on top of the meat that just gave them the edge over any I’ve had so far. I had their dry-aged rib-eye and it was served pre-sliced so I was able to see how perfectly they prepared my preferred choice of medium-rare. So not only was I perfectly satisfied with how they cooked the meat, their was a nice simple flavor of salt and pepper(without butter that some places drown theirs in) in a layer of crunchy crust that I’ve never had before in a steak. It was fantastic! Every bite had an initial crunch that quickly gave way to a tender and very flavorful steak that I haven’t had so far. Yes, their service, appetizers and side dishes were good, like all the other places, but when you go to a fancy steak house, they are usually the standard(well, Peter Luger’s has a different charm for service). However, Four Cuts simply offers that«edge» over the others that will make me a frequent client. Judge for yourself!

The entire concept of a steakhouse was new to me before I went to the Four Cuts Restaurant at 1st Avenue and 59th street. I went there with a group of people with the idea of sharing a meal. We started out with an appetizer, which was the seafood platter that we shared. It consisted of jumbo shrimps with crabmeat with some sauces on the side. I’d have to say that it was a pretty decent appetizer to start our meal with. The most exiting part of the meal, the meat of course was still to serve but the seafood platter was a nice starter. During our stay there was none despair of running out of drinks due to the fact that every time you almost finished either your wine or your club soda, a waiter would come by to offer you some more. I’d have to say that I’ve grown quite attached to this kind of service. The highlight of the evening came when the meat was served. Four sizzling hot plates of rib lamb chops, Porterhouse, sirloin steak and rib eye steak were served in front of us, and two waiters were available for us to serve the meat. Me as a part time meat devourer had one of the most exiting meals I’ve had in a while. Everything just tasted great, and fortunately there was plenty to eat. We ended up with some desert to share and an espresso. I’d have to say that for a first timer to a meat house, Four Cuts definitely was a good choice. It most definitely was a restaurant that I’d go to again, or would advice a friend to go there. Because of this experience I think I’ll definitely be spending more of my time in steakhouses.

Very nice cozy place, with nice jazz music. Not a library-cave-type atmosphere you see in every other steak house in the city, but rather lively. This place is brand new and everything is well crafted and tidy. Top class table service. Seafood is great, steak is fantastic and this should be the place where you get yours next time. It might seem too far«East», but don’t let this turn you off from coming to try this place out, you will not regret it. A+

If you like steak you must must must visit this place. One of the best in NYC. It was so tender that you could cut it with a butter knife and melted in my mouth. Salad was fresh & the Ceaser dressing was very good. Service was exceptional. Great selection of wine. Elegance and perfection. Highly recommended.
