place is cute and clean. Food is pretty ok. Its just the cashier workers are very unqualified. It appears they speak english but their comprehension is just so awful that they dont even understand you when your ordering the most basic thing. you have to repeat yourself several times and all you’re saying is the name of whats exactly on their menu. It happens everytime. Its kinda wierd. So it makes it kinda frustrating. Maybe they just arent bright

Working in Midtown can make it tough to find cheap and delicious food that doesn’t shorten your life expectancy. Finally, this place opened up and I’m a happy girl. $ 7 and change gets you a LOT of food: shrimp tempura roll, miso soup, seaweed salad, green salad, and two mini egg rolls. Uhhh YESPLEASE! They’ve got a bunch of different options for their bento box deal to substitute my choice of shrimp tempura: hibachi beef, chicken, salmon, various sushi rolls. New regular lunch takeout spot? Yup.

Got a bento box lunch with«hibachi» chicken. My excitement for a new lunch joint was quashed as soon as I took a few bites. The food was barely edible. This is NOT an authentic Japanese joint. I knew that going in but wanted to give it a try. This will be my first and last visit for the following reasons: 1) The menu said that the bento box would come with seaweed salad. When I opened the lunch box, I saw that there was a mysterious peanut/onion relish thing instead. They did not tell me that they were substituting. Thankfully, I am not allergic to peanuts but this could have ended badly for those who are. I am attaching a photo. 2) «Miso“Soup was very watered down and had no flavor. 3) Rice was not Japanese sticky rice but very dry white rice served in Chinese restaurants. 4) «Hibachi» chicken(they also called it «Teriyaki» chicken and said that it was the same thing. It is not. And these were not«Teriyaki» chicken – it had no sauce at all. In fact, these were not«Hibachi» chicken either. It was greasy, diced, sautéed chicken like those used in Kung Pao Chicken and tasted like it was cooked in the same clear duck sauce for dipping the egg roll that came with the bento box. I took a few bites and tossed the rest. What a waste.

Decided to give this new spot a try. I liked the chicken teriyaki and the shrimp tempura. I’ll def return to try out the sushi rolls. Credit card $ 10 min. Midtown west was missing a good teriyaki and sushi place so I’m glad they opened up!
