Such a lovely place. One could say romantic. Our dish was exceptional and the service matched. Will certainly return.

The food is just MEH! We had branzino and Vitello Terra e Mare — a very strange dish with shrimps, with tails and all, being stuffed inside the veal. Dishes came with very bland boiled vegetables. Everybody says it’s romantic — if you like cheesy atmosphere and cheesy Italian accent waiters, then it’s romantic! A star for the lit up menus, and another for complimentary biscotti and amaretto after dinner.

Went to Firenze Ristorante with my girlfriend. It’s a hidden gem! Loved every bit of being there. The staff was extremely attentive and the ambiance was magnificent. This is everything that you expect from an Italian restaurant. I used a groupon here. It came with two apps and two entrées with two glasses of champagne. The two apps we ordered were bruschetta and mozzarella, tomatoes and basil. Both were delightful and mouth watering. Had an extremely clean feeling while eating them both. They melted the mozzarella cheese perfectly on both apps. The sauce they used on the tomatoes was delightful. Gino the waiter took care of us. Extremely on point with filling or drinks and giving us information. We asked for a wine menu and they gave us a wine bible with descriptions of everything they have. We asked Gino his opinion between the merlot and Sangiovese, he recommended the Sangiovese which was exquisite. Our two entrees were the ny strip steak. This was the best ny strip steak I have ever had. Only down side was I saw some fat on it. But was cooked perfectly for medium rare. Sides were Lima beans and tomatoes in the heavenly sauce. All in all, definitely recommend this place. I forgot the best part! The menus light up! It was really cool and I have never seen before. Also, there’s a mini outdoor area for three tables.

Five stars for the food, atmosphere and service. Atmosphere is cozy(very small), dark and romantic with candle light on each table and Italian oil paintings on the walls. Food is impeccable, with a special sea bass entrée and a papperdel pasta appetizer to be recommended. Service is very attentive. My only quibble is although they have a «book» of available red and white wines, only 6 are available by the glass. The others are sold by the bottle and were priced north of 40 dollars.

This place have a nice & romantic decorations. I like the idea that they garnished orchid flower in my dish. Their food is good but their service so slow. I have to wait like 15 minutes to get my check.

This restaurant is small in size and had a very romantic ambience. The dining room has Candlelight and exposed-brick walls. Their Tuscan style cooking is fabulous with a great staff that is very attentive to your needs. It can feel a bit cramped if they are very busy, but I have on occasions have had a late lunches to enjoy the warm cozy private dining feel. They also have a fabulous selection of wine by the glass with health pours. One of our top choices for UES Tuscany Italian Style restaurant.

First time eating at this restaurant. My wife and i got a Groupon deal for this place and wore very excited to go and have a romantic dinner before a Broadway show. We wore welcomed and seated very quickly. The place is very cozy and romantic with large lit candle and very pretty flower arrangement. The champagne glass came quickly and my wife just had a diet coke(8 months preggo). We also asked for a bottle of sparkling water. We placed our order: Bruschetta dell Tirreno, Carpaccio Toscana as appetizers and for our main dishes we had Zuppa Di Pesce and Branzino in Brodetto. We wore so happy with the food. Perfectly plated and tasted amazing. We wore very satisfied and full… almost said no to desserts but when the sample plate was shown we could not resist and decided to share a slice of Triple Chocolate cake and had a cup of cappuccino. Since it was very visible that my wife is pregnant the manager gave us a Tiramisu as a gift… very nice gesture on his part :).

If I could put no stars I would!!! Awful attitude!!! I bought a Groupon special, since I’ve been to the restaurant before and liked the food, I called to make a reservation and the person who answered the phone, I could not understand, so politely I asked him to repeat himself, then yelled at me and said omg!!! and hung up, I called back and said that was rude, he said oh no I lost connection BS!!! I canceled my reservation, canceled my groupon, and will never ever eat here, don’t put a Groupon if you don’t want people to use it

My favorite restaurant. In my opinion thee most romantic charming restaurant I’ve been in NYC… How do I love thee? Oh let me count the ways: beautiful, charming, romantic, cozy, unmatched ambiance, a hidden gem, fresh orchids or roses(depending when you go), candles, beautiful details in every corner, amazing friendly service, incredible food, my favorite appetizers and entrees on the chic lit menus… Amazingly attentive and friendly staff and an owner who genuinely cares about his business and has been there every time I’ve gone — countless times. I love it here and anyone who has been special In my life has been here with me … In fact because it is my very favorite and such a cozy comfortable special place — I will only invite those who are really special to me… What we had(I have always ordered thee same dishes so they know what I like when I come even when I’ve not been here in a while. All their food is beautifully presented… — focaccia — the best ever. I could get full on this alone. Perfect and served/paired in an oil loaded with Garlic and perfect spice blend along with olives. — bread is fantastic and perfect for dipping in the above oil. (Coming here I throw my carb watching to the wind for the above two is way too good to think about that; eat now, run later …) — tomato/mozzarella — delic. Cheese is perfect. I prefer a sweeter tomato, but that’s my preference and this is wonderful. — beef carpaccio… Mmmm they make this incredibly well — grilled octopus on skewers. Perfection … Grilled and flavored perfectly … Served with an arugula salad in a wonderful light dressing which is presented in a large red cabbage leaf. This dish is a salad and grilled octopus appetizer in one. — seafood over black linguini … Mmmmm divine and my absolute fave here: Lobster, clams, mussels, calamari. My absolute fave dish of any restaurant anywhere. They know when I come here this is what I’m getting. — For drinks, I’ve had many wines and always been happy. After dinner lemoncello, Sambuca with the 3 beans of course, and last night a complimentary amaretto for my birthday. Always lovely presentation and always fabulous . I first saw this place on a run noticing while the subway construction fence was put up(now taken down) they creatively made a construction imposed fence into an inviting, charming flower wall, adorning the fence outside their restaurant with a hundred plus little pots of flowers to cover the fence. I came in and said I am coming here — soon. I did, and have been back countless times to what’s now my favorite restaurant in NYC. I hesitate to highly recommend because I don’t want too many people to know about this amazing most romantic hidden gem but — Firenze deserves the patronage particularly after the 2nd street construction mess … If you want to romance a date or impress a family member with charm, this is the place.

If I could give less than one star I would. This place should be shut down. Here’s the short version: Rude, inattentive, rip-off. DON’T WASTEYOURTIMEORMONEY. GOANYWHEREELSE. For those of you who want all the details: The staff was rude and contentious, I got ripped off, and they ruined our afternoon. I bought a LivingSocial deal and called to make a reservation on the day before Valentines’ day. They accepted the reservation. When I called several days later to confirm, the owner said he wouldn’t honor the voucher due to a holiday weekend(after he had ALREADY accepted the reservation!). When I pointed out that there were no blackout dates on the voucher he said I could come in but only if I came at 2:00pm. Fine. We went at 2:00pm, the place was EMPTY save for one group of 6 and another couple. When I presented the voucher they had no idea what was supposed to come with it. I had to read the voucher to them word by word and they still refused to bring half of the food that was purchased. We had to insist in order to get all the wine that was promised. After ordering our wine, every customer in the place received a drink before us, including the couple who sat down after us(who were also forced to argue with the wait staff to get their service). The entire experience was an uphill battle to get basic service and to get the items we had already paid for. I used to be a server, I always tip even for the worst service. However, the entire staff was so rude to the point of arguing every step of the way, I couldn’t bring myself to tip. When they discovered this, they had the audacity to grab my shoulder and ask why! AREYOUKIDDINGME?! DON’T WASTEYOURTIMEORMONEY. GOANYWHEREELSE.

From the Wine to dessert everything is amazing. I had the papardelle something something I can’t remember. The host recommended us a wine that was great from the price range I asked for. When leaving the restaurant the goodbye was as hospitable as the welcome Definitely coming back

I started frequenting to Italian places since my bf of 3 years refuses to eat anything that is not Italian, American, Mediterranean or French. Since we are running out of new Italian places to check out, we came to this upper east side location and were not disappointed. It was very cozy and romantic with actual candles(not the electric ones) and actual orchids on every table. Menus lit up when you open them which is a nice touch. It was packed and people were dressed nice while i was donning my best sweat pants that day since it was very cold, such a shame. Food was delicious, it had strong southern flare. We ordered mussels in white wine and mozzarella di buffalo. Large portions, very fresh and perfectly seasoned and cooked. Bf ordered veal scalloppine with whole shrimp while I got lobster tail black ink pasta. Veal was very flavorful, it was soft, pure heaven and pasta had strong flavor of white sauce which was divine I was stuffed yet kept on eating . We finished the dinner with crème brule which was also well prepared and staff gave us complimentary limoncello shots with biscotti. Staff was helpful and attentive yet not intrusive. We will be back!

First things first… when you open the menu, watch out! That shit will blind you. If you have a bad heart, be warned. That said, I love Firenze. From the moment you walk in the awesome staff does everything to make you feel welcome and wanted. The food is terrific — really a+ food. They give you some nice biscotti and some homemade hootch(different things on different days) afterwards and, for the area, the prices are reasonable.

Good food and nice atmosphere. Small place with mood lighting that made me feel like I was in Italy… Except for the music which was like 80−90s pop haha. Me and my stepmom had a laugh about that. The service was good, the waiter was continually filling our water glasses. The menus have a backlight(because of the mood lighting) = nice touch. Food: we got bruschetta as an appetizer not bad but not amazing. They served bread but didn’t give us any butter or olive oil. Kinda weird but alright. For my main dish I had the ravioli. So good. It filled me up but didn’t leave me too stuffed and had good flavor. Definitely stop in if you’re craving a good Italian meal.

If I lived on the Upper East Side, this place would be my «go to» spot. It’s warm, it’s old schools, it’s romantic, the food is great and the service is excellent. There is a reason why restaurants like this stay in business for so long. The staff is very attentive and you never have to wait for service. I can tell that a lot of the clients are regulars and that people are loyal to this place. I even saw the owner sitting at a table like he was part of the family. That is a great sign of a great restaurateur. My date had the baby lamb chops and they were cooked perfectly and I had the Pasta with ragu. Everything was excellent. The wine list is awesome too. Worth the trip. If you live close, put this in your rotation as a nice spot for a great meal. Cannot go wrong.

We had dinner in this adorable, romantic restaurant on our first night in NYC for my daughter’s birthday celebration. The Italian staff made us feel welcome and made it super fun with their personalities and attention. The chef added artichoke and sun-dried tomatoes to my fettuccine, no problem. We had delicious drinks – the vodka Lorenzo drink is a must-have. The food was good, but don’t go expecting gourmet Italian. I would eat here again, not especially for the food, but for the experience as a whole. If you keep your expectations around the food in check, you’ll enjoy yourself immensely. By far, the biggest treat for me was watching an older long-married couple(one could tell from their interaction with staff that they were regulars) sitting across from us talk for 2-hours straight throughout their dinner. Constant eye-contact and laughter and animated sharing of stories and subtle touches between them filled me with joy as I simultaneously enjoyed the company of my own love buckets.

The only thing I liked about this place was the ambiance which I must say is super romantic and beautiful. The food however, was horrible. Growing up in Jersey with lots of local Italians I’m pretty sure I can tell well prepared dishes from a rushed attempt at «something Italian.» I tried the radicchio and shrimp pasta in cream sauce the first time. The taste was horrible. It was bitter, which radicchio can be when not cooked and seasoned properly. The shrimp was over cooked, the pasta was raw, not al dente and the sauce lacked favor. Second time I tried rigatoni in red sauce… same thing. Raw pasta, sour sauce, no flavor. The bread is also served hard and cold. Total dissapointment. Felt rushed and the food was always cold.
