My friend and I happened to pass by and got the latte. The taste of coffee was very good. It went well with the donut I bought that day. The quality of bean was very good too.

Probably the most expensive place to get coffee in the city. I get a large mocha and it totals out to $ 7. Crazy. But I keep going back because it’s delicious. #brokebutcaffeinated

What an absolute shame. A great looking coffee shop with good tasting food destroyed by incompetent staff. I had come here regularly since they opened and always found some problem with the service. Always a bit of an attitude and often told that the kitchen was mysteriously closed and I should go to one of their other locations instead. I don’t know if the kitchen periodically being closed is because of a staffing problem or because they have health code violations that shut them down, but after my last experience I think it is the latter. I waited for 20 minutes for my order of two soups and two half sandwiches to come out of the kitchen. All that time I watched the three staff members behind the counter goof arround with each other as they only had two customers who bought coffee in that entire time. All that time I watched the man in the kitchen talking on his dirty personal cell phone cradled under his ear, and swapping it from ear to ear with his gloved hand(those gloves clearly protecting him, not the customer) as he prepared the food. When the food was up and the bell rung the three staff members from behind the counter were too deep into their conversation to pick up the food so I got up and brought it to our table. I noticed that the soup wasn’t what we had ordered. Finally a staff member shows up(i guess he noticed that I had collected the food when it was his job to do so he came to the table) and said that they were out of the soup we ordered, something that could have been said to us at time of ordering or at some point during the 20 minute wait. After waiting so long when nothing else was going on in the kitchen or the rest of the store for that matter this pissed me off. I asked if I could speak with the manager and the fellow said he was the manager. I then asked him if he know that the man in the kitchen was talking on his cell phone the entire time that he was preparing food, and still is if you look into the kitchen, and the ‘manager’ said that he doesn’t speak to the man in the kitchen. What? The manager does not speak with his own staff??? Something is very peculiar about this place, and not in just the quirky Swedish Ikea kind of quirky, but like there is a disconnect between management and reality. I was told to write to and so I did… and I wait a week… and I even send a follow up email… and they choose not to respond in over a week. So here I am. This company seems to have over extended itself with the opening of several new locations in the last year and they are clearly showing growing pains that will be the death of them. I hope that death comes soon so that a restaurant that I like moves into their space.

I had a raspberry cardamom bun, open faced hard boiled egg sandwich and a chocolate chip cookie. The cardamom buns are one of my favorite fika items and the raspberry twist made it even better. I also liked the egg sandwich a lot — it had some sort of roe sauce that was just fishy enough to evoke lox but wasn’t overpowering. The chocolate chip cookie was good but nothing special. Friendly service and lots of seating at this location!

I love this place. They make the best Mocha Latte. It’s not overly sweet, just perfect! I like it better than Starbucks.

Cute, newish spot in my hood. Their cold brew had a nice flavor and wasn’t overly bitter. Has a decent lounge area that is naturally bright and far from a Starbucks corporate feel. I’ll be back.

Minus 1 star for having a barista who doesn’t drink coffee. On second thought, that’s actually a great excuse for the uninspired coffee(and pastries).

If there’s one thing the Swedes have mastered, it’s Design. This location feels more like a cozy museum than a coffee shop. I know people have suggested an Ikea feel to the place, but I disagree and think the quality is much, much better. It’s really a beautiful spot and could see why people would hang out here for hours. But, if there’s one thing that the Swedes have not mastered, it’s Coffee(and Food to a lesser extent, although, they do have two of the top 50 restaurants in the world — Faviken and Frantzen, but that’s a story for another day). I would rate the coffee 3-stars and dare I say that I actually think Starbucks might be better… hoping I’m wrong cause I’m not a fan of Starbucks. I just thought there wasn’t much flavor or complexity to their coffee. And, although the design of the space is impeccable, the design of the coffee supplies are not. For example, I ordered a small coffee and the coffee cup sleeves that they provide on the communal supply table are too big for the size of the cup(see my pics). Meaning, each cup is a different width, so the sleeves only fit the medium & large cups, so had to wait for my coffee to cool off before I could walk with it. Also, the sugar stirrers are very pretty, but they’re extremely thin for stirring(see my pic), so I had to use two of them combined, which is a waste of plastic. Surely, they would’ve figured this stuff out given their expertise in design, but apparently not. Lastly, the size of the small coffee was more like a tiny(which I know is true to European standards), but then the cost shouldn’t be almost $ 3. I never complain about price, but $ 3 for an average tasting Tiny size coffee is too much in my opinion, when I can get an a good sized portion of pour over coffee from Kaffe 1668 or Café Grumpy for almost the same price, two blocks away. All that being said however, it’s still pleasurable sitting in such a beautiful spot enjoying a morning coffee, even if it is just above average tasting. And I’ll be honest, I’m a little biased as this is a local neighborhood spot for me and, well, I like having nice places like this to go to, so I’m giving it 4-stars. And I haven’t had the food(brunch) yet, but looks like it could be good. So, overall: Location: 5-stars Ambiance: 5-stars Coffee: 3-stars Value: 2-stars Food: tbd Overall: 4-stars

Fika is a nice little coffee shop in Flatiron/Chelsea(with chain locations throughout the city). It feels like what would happen if Ikea took over a Starbucks(and not just because they are both Swedish). Most of the food has a name that bears more than a passing resemblance to Ikea furniture, but fortunately, does not taste like said furniture. This location is nice and spacious, and is good for getting work done. It is never insanely crowded, and while there is TWCWifi available(the bane of my existence), they also have a free store wifi that always works great for me. The food is good(if a little pricey for a sandwich), and their Simply Strawberry iced tea is truly unmatched. The coffee is fine(nothing too exciting). I never regret coming, but I have yet to be truly blown away. Pro-tip: there are few outlets, but the table in the back corner has some(that usually work).

This location is very good, spacious, airy and cozy. Lots of seating and not crowded at all even the midst of lunch hours I like their sweets, relatively small sized so becomes dessert after lunch.

Great quality coffee and amazing chocolates. Try the chocolate with goat cheese. Yes, there’s a time limit on the wifi but hey a place has to pay the rent so I won’t knock them for that.

Not off to a good start! Slow service, not very personable, and nothing special about the coffee drinks, all of which were coming out of a machine. Does this place really think it’s going to open up all over the city and be successful? A shame because I usually love Scandinavian things.

This new FIKA location is my favorite! The place is brand new and beautiful! They have cozy booths and some neat lighting — not to mention a wall of windows that looks out on 7th Avenue. The baristas here are incredibly friendly and awesome! They also have brunch foods on weekends. I ordered an egg-white omelette with spinach and tomatoes and my usual double cap. It came with some of the best bread ever(which I found out is also made by the FIKA bakers who make all the pastries) and a small side salad. The additions were definitely unexpected as well as the little details — for example, the tomatoes that they used in the omelette were tricolor, fancy!
