This place is a no brainer! I take ALL my friends here when they come in town for brunch or lunch. It’s just a great place and the staff are ALWAYS nice and friendly. I love the atmosphere and the food is amazing. You have to try the mac-n-cheese trio if you like mac-n-cheese. It’s the best. Also the mac-n-cheese spring rolls are great too. Everything I have eaten here I love so you can’t go wrong. My favorite drink is the Wildberry Mojito. It’s the best! I get it every time. If you choose to go on the weekend then go early(b411a) or you will end up having to wait an 45−1hr.

The waiting time was a little long and we had to wait outside. But once I was seated at the bar I I had a great experience. Its 24 hours and me any my date was hungry. They do not have a lot of Vegan options so I got French fries and spinach. It was soooooo good, I couldn’t eat it all. My date asked me the next morning what the name of the restaurant because he liked it a lot. When we left, I had to go back and use the bathroom when they let me know, they address me by name and direct me to the ladies Room. I like that they remember who I was. You should go here if you want to impress your date.

If I could, I would give this place a negative 5 stars; however, that isn’t an option to display my utter disgust with this establishment. On January 17th, my friends and I traveled from a night club to grab breakfast. Visiting from Maryland, we were told this was the best late night option. After cabbing over and walking in heels, we were immediately stopped at the door and questioned how many more were coming. As it was four of us at the time, I told them four more were coming, and they denied us entry. I was perplexed! This wasn’t a nightclub… this was a restaurant. What do you mean we can’t eat here?! I reasoned with the security guard that some of us could sit at the bar, some at a table– it didn’t really matter; we were just hungry. He continued to deny us entry, on what basis, I didn’t understand. I then contacted the management team the next day via email. The manager apologized to me and said he would get back to me after discussing it with his team. I never heard back. As stated, I was very disgusted by their obvious discrimination, and I DONOT recommend this restaurant I anyone!

I came here for two things, their mac&cheese and red velvet ho-ho’s and I was so happy I got them both! I went with my fiancé and we ordered the Mac attack which is 3 different Mac and cheeses. It includes a regular, truffle and bacon type. My favorite was the regular and my least favorite was the Truffle but I don’t like that flavor anyway so it wasn’t a surprise. We then ordered the red velvet ho-ho and it came with a vanilla milk shake. I didn’t pay much attention to the milk shake but it was useful when it came to washing down the ho ho. The red velvet ho ho was so delicious. One of my top favorite desserts. Totally recommend for anyone who likes the hostess ho ho to try this dessert because it is a 100 times better!

I have been to Cafeteria twice: once for dinner in the main dining room and once for brunch in the lounge area downstairs. I much prefer the vibe upstairs, which is lively and fun. The tables in the lounge are awkwardly low to the ground and the music was uncomfortably loud. I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes, which had a disappointing amount of ricotta given the name. I enjoyed the apple cider mimosa, which was a nice balance of bitter and sweet; however, I thought it was a little pricey for the size. I will definitely give Cafeteria another try for dinner, but I’ll skip the lounge.

Went here with a group of friends to grab a bite to eat for brunch on a Saturday morning. Luckily our group arrived before the main rush and we were able to be seated right away. After indulging in a couple of drinks, I decided to go with the truffled eggs. The eggs were cooked well and were tasty with the proscuitto and truffle oil, but I felt that the dish was pretty small. I would have loved to have more eggs or at least more than one strip of proscuitto. Nevertheless, the food was good and I enjoyed the toast with their strawberry jam. Overall, the service was very friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. The space is well-designed and provides a nice atmosphere for brunch.

I had a brow appointment close by so my bestie and I decided to stop by Cafeteria for breakfast and morning cocktails(don’t judge us). We got there a little before 10am and we were welcomed right in. Midway through our meal we noticed the place was pretty packed so we got there at a good time. Everything looked Yumm. We didn’t think it would be socially acceptable to order everything on the menu so I ordered the Avocado Toast Benedict and my bestie ordered the Croissant French Toast. I’m not a huge fan of poached eggs so I asked to get them scrambled but was told changing the eggs is not allowed with the Benedicts. I thought that was strange but they did offer to cook it harder for me so I obliged. The food was yummy, no complaints even with my poached eggs. To drink we had Morning Glories then I had a Sparkling Negroni and my bestie had a Italian Mimosa. We liked both of our drinks but we both loved the Morning Glories more. All in all a good experience. We’d come back!

I was pretty underwhelmed here. Granted, it was so late that it was early, but I had just flown in from Chicago, the Midtown tunnel was a nightmare, and I was hungry. Our gracious NYC host suggested Cafeteria because it was open. I heard the name, and thought, excellent. A diner. I can get a sandwich, maybe an omelette or some pancakes and call it a night. Sure, It’s a diner, but it is the swankiest diner you’ve ever been in. I felt like I was more in a night club. And it was EXPENSIVE. A late night snack for 4 people was nearly $ 200. Definitely not used to those prices. I had avocado toast. Someone else had deviled eggs, a third, a burger. And a few drinks. Nearly $ 200? At 2am? PUH-LEASE.

I find it hilarious this place is open 24⁄7. It doesn’t seem like that kinda«diner» that drunk people would venture to based on it’s pristine-white trendy appearance, but I guess if you consider a lot of menu items are comfort food, then makes sense. I came on a sunday afternoon without a reservation and we had to wait about 20 minutes because we wanted outdoor seats. Almost wish we sat inside, I liked the décor with all white EVERYWHERE(but that’s okay, when it’s 60 degrees in December in NYC, you take advantage of that!). They also have seating downstairs– don’t be fooled by the size when first looking in. I got the mac attack — basically the reason I wanted to go here so badly — which was a sample of 3 different macs(truffle, gouda/bacon, and fontina/cheddar). I didn’t taste a distinct different between the 3 honestly, but mac is mac, and I was in heaven regardless. May have been because we were seated outside, but the service was a bit slow especially when we wanted the check. I definitely want to come back to try more menu items since they have quite a variety — although it’ll be hard for me to not get the mac attack again!

Cafeteria is a great brunch place to take the girls for brunch. I’ve been here several times and it’s always been a great experience, but always a bit of a wait like all brunch places in the city. We went during the week when it wasn’t so busy so I’m not sure how it is on the weekends. I waited with my friend for a while at the bar and ordered drinks so the time goes by fast. When we finally sat down, I ordered the Fried Chicken and Waffles which is Cheddar Tabasco Waffle with Crispy Sage, Grilled Lemon, Chili Butter and Maple Jus. I loved the mix of sweetness of the maple and the savory waffle plus the heat of the tabasco with the crispy fried chicken. It was an delicious interesting twist. This was one of the best chicken and waffles I ever ate. My friend ordered the Avocado Toast Benedict which has grilled farmers bread poached eggs, lemon hollandaise sauce with avocado. I tasted some of her dish and it was delicious! We’re both fans of Avotoast and Eggs Benedict so it’s awesome that they combined them. So I definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a great brunch place to take your friends with yummy food!

I should definitely go to the West Side more often! My friend recommended we have brunch at this spot and I’m so glad we did. Unfortunately we didn’t make a reservation so we had to wait about half an hour on MLK Day, but the wait was worth it. I checked the menu before coming here and already knew I wanted the lemon ricotta pancakes, which my friend also said was a great choice! They were soooooo good. I love dishes that have a hint of citrus and the whipped ricotta cream was to die for. It was lemony and sweet and I couldn’t get enough of it. I’m definitely coming back here to try more from their menu next time! I rarely give 5 stars but that brunch was amazeballs and with great company it’s even better :)

To describe Cafeteria in a few words: Modern southern comfort food. Cafeteria takes the southern comfort food staples such as macaroni and cheese, chicken and waffles, etc and gives them a modern twist that will have you square dancing all the way to the honky tonk. I went to Cafeteria on a Wednesday around 7 with no reservation and was able to get a table for 2 after about a 15 minute(1 drink at the bar) wait. My friend and I ordered the mac attack to split and were considering ordering another appetizer(the fried string beans sounded amazing) but decided not to so we would have room for dessert. The mac attack consisted of 3 different types of macaroni and cheese(bacon, gouda, and classic) baked in mini bowls. For my entrée, I ordered the meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes, green beans, and a chopped tomato garnish. The meatloaf was cooked to perfection so that it was moist and fell apart in your mouth. The tomato garnish on top was different but a nice touch(I guess restaurants frown upon using ketchup when cooking meatloaf. Tomato, tomato. Pun intended). For dessert, we ordered 2 desserts to share: the fried oreos and the red velvet rollos. Each came with a mini milk shake which was nothing to rave about. I loved the fried oreos. The red velvet rollos were very rich, but still delicious the 2nd day(yes, we had a doggy bag for our desserts). Cafeteria is a great place to bring friends who may be picky eaters. The menu provides so many options that vegetarians and carnivores alike can find something that tickles their fancy.

You know it is tough for me to describe this place actually. It is trendy for sure, with hip decorations & furniture. It also felt pretty upscale even though«cafeteria» is the name. As far as atmosphere, if you are in your younger 20’s you will love it. The service was outstanding. I give these people 5⁄5 stars. They were attentive, but not too attentive. We ordered mac and cheese, as well as a fish dish. Both were really good, but they didn’t necessarily wow me. Still, I would definitely return to the restaurant and also would recommend it to a friend. I just wouldn’t go out of my way or travel across town to eat here.

I’m not sure what to make of this place. I’ll call it a trendy lounge/fancy diner. This is the trendiest, fancy cafeteria I have ever been to. It is more of a 7 out of 10 when it comes to food, but I’ll give them a 4 out of 5 since they are open 24⁄7 and still manage to keep this place looking nice and clean. On New Years Day, it seemed like many establishments were closed and everybody was either hung over, asleep or both. Since Cafeteria is open 24/7, we decided to give it a try. Looks like they also take reservations on Opentable. We were greeted by a fabulously dressed host decked out in fur and sequin-clad pants. He told us it would be about a 10-minute wait(not bad at all) or we could be seated in the lounge downstairs. Sure we’ll sit in the lounge. I like comfy couches, but there were two booth style tables available and we were the only other party in the lounge. It would have been nice if they just gave us one of those tables. No one else sat there the entire time we were dining. I probably should have asked to move, since I’m not very comfortable eating over a coffee table. First they presented us with complimentary warm biscuits and butter. They were fresh and fluffy. No dense stale biscuits here. We ordered the Yellowfin Tuna Crudo, Mac Attack, and the Croissant Cuban. However, they mistakenly gave us the breakfast menu and told us that the Croissant Cuban is a breakfast item and was not being served at that time. Oh well, we went with the burger instead. Yellowfin Tuna Crudo($ 14) — ginger, mint, jalapeño, frizzled shallots: I enjoyed the thinly sliced tuna, sliced jalapenos, and crispy shallot strings. Mac Attack($ 14) — Cheddar & Fontina, Truffle Oil, Smoked Gouda and Bacon: Each mac & cheese of the trio had distinct flavors. The cheddar and fontina was very classic. The truffle oil was delightfully fragrant. The smoked gouda and bacon had a good amount of bacon on top. The cheese was hot and gooey with a crust that had just enough crunch. Honestly, this is too much macaroni and cheese for two people. But Mr. Joy said it was worth trying all three since this place did dedicate an entire portion of their menu to mac & cheese. Classic Burger($ 14): ground beef, beefsteak tomato, Boston lettuce: The burger was not bad. The fries were good. I also appreciate a burger that does not have shredded lettuce or iceberg lettuce. The Boston lettuce was nice. I just thought it was a little hard to taste the gruyère cheese on the patty. Had a good meal here. Although I’m still not sure what kind of restaurant it is. The menu just lacks a bit of focus. It is definitely a nice looking restaurant.

Upscale diner food restaurant? That’s what I was left thinking leaving here. Not that it’s a bad thing as I didn’t know what to expect going in. So, I’ll do the usual and just rate the food in order. Tuna Crudo: 5⁄5. Nicely seasoned. Fresh tasting tuna. Jalapenos gave a good kick of heat without being overbearing. Shoestring onions added much needed texture. Mac Trio: 4⁄5. Probably some of the best mac’n’cheese I’ve had ever in a restaurant. Good, crispiness on top. Gooey center. Bacon one had a good amount of bacon. Truffle oil one wasn’t doused in it – just the right amount. And the classic one was well-seasoned and not bland at all. Burger + Fries: 3⁄5. Burger was a little bland. At $ 2 per topping, it stops you from wanting to order too many toppings. Got gruyère cheese on top and couldn’t really taste it. Actually, the whole burger was a bit bland. The fries had a bit of sweetness to it that I initially didn’t like… but then, you know me… I love french fries! They were nicely crisp and salty. How can you not like that?! Service was on point. The downstairs lounge area is a bit odd. Not quite big enough to have the same seating arrangement as upstairs but it reminded me of an ice box or igloo for some reason! I think I’d come back here to try the breakfast/brunch menu(WHICHTHEYSHOULDMAKE24⁄7ASWELL *HINTHINT*).

Cafeteria is too cool for school and I really enjoyed my visit here. From the time the door opened and I spotted the staff in their«costumes» I knew I would have a nice time. The name is misleading ’cause this ain’t no Cafeteria lol. It’s a cozy, super chill restaurant that exudes a fine dining, yet oh so elegantly casual and relaxed atmosphere all at the same time. Style! It appeared cramed as I walked in but as I was shown to my table, I realized seating was quite comfortable. Service was quick, staff attentive AND very entertaining.(I would come here JUST to see how staff is dressed that occasion). My wine, salmon and broccoli dinner was delish! I was informed they stay open 24⁄7 so feel free to stop in any time of the day and night because I definitely recommend you try this spot. Sidebar: ladies, when you use the loo, don’t panic like I did. Nine kegels in quick sucession because I was fooled! I thought people from a nearby building could see me. Lol. As you squat, don’t mind the glass at the back. It isn’t the outdoor, no one can see your precious tushy. It’s all an illusion with that glass. Lol. The End.

Friendly staff, excellent food that is well-portioned, and beautiful interior. Truffle fries are rich with flavor. Chicken and waffles are to die for. My four other friends ordered several other dishes, including the Mac & Cheese, steak, French toast and truffle eggs. All of them were extremely satisfying. The drinks are pretty good too. Average priced for a NYC restaurant. Since I’ve moved to NY from San Francisco, it’s been difficult to find brunch places that are as satisfying as those I’ve experienced in California. The Cafeteria doesn’t necessarily come close to them, but it’s got the New York vibe, the foods really good, and it’s just a little pricier. I wouldn’t mind coming here again with friends to enjoy a lovely brunch meal.

Don’t be fooled by the name. You wont find granny lunch ladies in hair nets anywhere in this place. You will find friendly service, delicious grub, and a fun atmosphere. After a night of drinking, this place is like a mirage in the desert, except it actually exists! The burgers here are always delicious. I love the soft bun they rest on like a heavenly carb-cloud. As a former south-Floridian I always look for a great Cuban sandwich and there’s is very unique. They replace the cuban bread(GASP) which is normally pressed in a panini press, with soft buttery croissants. Let go of tradition and try it. Also you get two croissant sandwiches. This makes it a great dish for sharing! They serve it with fried pickles which are the perfect side for soaking up your alcohol lined stomach from drinking the night before. I love their fried calamari salad, the mac and cheese spring rolls are incredible. I definitely wouldn’t come to this joint if you are on a diet and are avoiding temptation. However, if you want to let loose in a fun environment, please check this place out. The atmosphere is like an upscale mechanic’s garage and the service is always friendly. The patio is great for people watching and bringing your dog.

Nice service, good ambiance, and lots of food options! My party and I waited for about 30 – 40 minutes before being seated. There was a party of the same size that came in after us, but got seated before us, so that was a little annoying but they seated us shortly after. Our waiter provided very good service! My sister ordered a drink that did not turn out like she expected it and asked to switch it out and he was very nice about that. We ordered the Mac Attack, Mac and Cheese Spring Rolls, Butternut Squash Toast, Calamari, and the Fried Chicken and Waffles to share. It sounds like a lot, but the portion sizes weren’t big so it was reasonable and we shared it all anyway. Overall the food was tasty and service was quick; however, the Mac and cheese was very average. Nothing stood out about it. I really liked the butternut squash toast! the onions on the toast was a nice touch and gave it a nice flavor! The fried chicken and waffles was also very good! The chicken portion size was HUGE! If you have room for dessert, I highly recommend their ice cream! I think they make it themselves and it was amazing! So smooth and creamy! We got the fried oreos for dessert and the ice cream came with it and some of their desserts are also served with a frothy milk drink. I would definitely come back and try their many other food options.

Even at 4:30am, the food is good and the atmosphere is interesting, and as a side bonus, there’s no wait at that hour. Normally, the 4am-9am hour is a rough time to find a decent meal in NYC– when you stumble upon a place that’s open, it usually lacks gourmet quality or ambiance– but Cafeteria delivers both in quality and atmosphere. It’s where people who work at bars and entertainment venues go after their own kitchens have closed down. It’s also where Europeans & Australians can deal with their jet lag and play it cool like they just had a baller evening rather than just waking up at 3am. Pesto Green Eggs & Ham with Biscuit= perfect. Waffle– sweet batter and the whipped cream isn’t too heavy or sugary. Fried chicken is awesome. Mac & Cheese– yes… but Mac & Cheese Egg Roll– no. Iced Cappuccino kind of looks like a root beer float– but it’s an iced latte with foam on top.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for the longest time. I spent my thanksgiving week in New York. I’m from California. I’m a brunch person. I love it. I came here with one of my close friends and boyfriend. We were seated downstairs and It was pretty dark and there is no signal. Which is okay since you don’t have any distractions because I know how people like to always be on their phones and not talk to the people you are sitting with. Suck since you can’t post a picture… but whatever right? I got the croissant french toast and it was sooooooo good! I definitely recommend. My boyfriend got the avocado toast. He said it was good as well but nothing amazing. Still get it because its avocado… who doesn’t love avocado. and my friend got the chicken and waffles. OMG! must get! It was soooo good but its so heavy so share! We also go the mac attack because… who doesn’t love mac and cheese? its also a must get! You get all three of the mac and cheese and its good to share. I will definitely recommend this place. There is a line but we only waited 30 minutes sometimes i’m sure its longer.

More 3.5 stars but overall pretty good. The wait is 45 minutes during weekend lunch(came around 1 pm on a Saturday). I love the location and the atmosphere. It feels clean and modern and the waiters and host were all very friendly! Drinks are good here… I think the drinks were better than the food. Food was good overall, but not really that memorable. We had mac attack tasting of all three and I ordered the fried chicken and waffles. Both were good and came out hot! Not the best mac and cheese or chicken and waffles I’ve ever had but it did the job.

I have been lusting after this place for a while, but never dropped by. It’s a hip, trendy place with reasonably priced comfort food. I stopped in around 7:30 with a few friends last Thursday. I was surprised that we didn’t have to wait long. We managed to score a seat near the outdoor seating section. I had my eye on the mac attack, but felt like that wouldn’t be enough, so I decided to split the chicken and waffles with a friend. It was a good move on our part because it was a massive portion. The chicken was to die for, so juicy and flavorful. It came with a cup of hot sauce that was very good as well. However the waffle was very dry, and it came with a syrup that had an odd taste to it. I had a taste of some of the other dishes like the Meatloaf and the avocado toast. All very good. So despite being unpleasantly surprised by half of my meal, I still give this place 4 stars. The menu looks so good and I really like the atmosphere. I’d really like to check out this place for Brunch.

I’m a fan of Cafeteria. I like the fact they are open 24⁄7 and have three different menus throughout the day, the a.m. menu, the p.m. menu and the over night menu that goes into effect at midnight. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they know the menus well, so if you are unsure ask them for suggestions. Cafeteria has a lounge like theme with its white tiled walls and flooring with matching tables and minimal style house music playing throughout the restaurant. The basement also has a lounge area adjacent the restrooms. Cafeteria has a fully stocked bar with a mixologist serving up cocktails and a decent selection of wines from sparkling whites to Malbec reds. We ordered off of the midnight menu and went with a few different appetizers such as: The Mac Attack, it’s a tasting of all three mac & cheese dishes. Our favorite was the Truffle oil with a chive garnish. The cheddar and Fontana was flavorful and so was the Smoked Goada and Bacon. Price $ 15.00 serving enough for three to split. Crispy Mahi Tacos were good but I felt the Avocado overpowered the taste of the Mahi. Price $ 13.00. Portioned enough for two. BBQ Ribeye Tacos we were not impressed with. The meat is marinated flank steak that was tough to chew with a Korean BBQ style flavor marinade and the flavor was the only thing we liked. Not worth the price of $ 13.00 Cafeteria has a nice choice of reds on their wine list average price was between $ 45.00 to $ 50.00. We chose an Italian Red called«Nebbiolo D’Alba». Price $ 49.00 and worth it. The wine had light fruit notes in the beginning and ended with a dry smooth finish, leaving no after taste. I will definitely return at a later time to explore more options from their different menus. The link provided below will provide additional information on Cafeteria.
