Feet Island

I used to go here regularly, but stopped as the place got more run down and the service declined. More than once, they have changed the masseuse on me in the middle of the message.

My BF and I come here for some good massages– feet and back about once a month. It’s nothing fancy, and walking down the stairs to a dimly lit basement seems scary at first but the price is fantastic, and the massages always wonderful! It’s $ 20 for 30 min or $ 30 for 60 min foot/​leg massage with some reflexology. Better deal is $ 40 for 30 min feet and 30 min back. The massage rooms are nothing more than particle board separating one person from the next, so sometimes you can hear a few words exchanged between rooms, but maybe it’s good because it assures nothing unprofessional goes on! Definitely worth a visit, on a weekly or monthly basis.

Best foot massage in the city by far

I was kind of nervous going in here… I have never been to a sleazy brothel, but I vaguely imagined that it would be sort of like this: I’d go down some narrow steps where there’s a TV at the bottom showing a video of flesh being rubbed, enter a foyer to find several bored-​looking ladies and a man sitting on an old couch and greeting me in various levels of ESL. Then one of them would take me through a door marked «choice of woman or man» and into a dimly lit basement room with filthy carpet and a few leather chairs and smelling ever-​so-​faintly of pee. And that’s what happened at Feet Island!
Except it was all legit and the massage was actually quite good. I did their «half hour feet/​half hour back» for $ 40 and thought it was well worth it.
My masseur was super nice but halfway through my foot rub another customer came in and the lady who was doing his feet was unnecessarily giggly and seemed to be laughing at him… not cool.
Back massage was done in a little plywood cubicle, so completely private visually, but not aurally. I chose to keep all my clothes on, because… I dunno, I didn’t want to get naked there, I guess. «Back» seems to equal the entire back half of the body, btw… he did arms, legs, and butt too. Very nice job… he was not wimpy, nor did he hurt me (much).
Oh, and the toilet was broken.
Ambiance gets one star, but the price was low and the massage was excellent, so… I have to go at least three stars for that. There’s, like, a dozen similar places on the same block, so I guess I would probably try a different one next time, in hopes of less sleazy surroundings. If they turn out to all be about the same, yeah, I’d go back I guess. If only because I love the name. Feet Island… ha ha.

Didn’t really like the vibe here. Maybe i shouldn’t have stopped by a place called Feet Island to get a massage, so that may be the problem entirely.
I can only comment on the massage. Got a 30 minute massage. Other comments about hospital bed setting, all agree. I mean, this place is very cheap, wasn’t expecting much. What i didn’t expect was how there was this hierarchy, I paid to X, who then assigned Y, I get massage, come back and pay X. I don’t know how to explain, I know that’s how one does it normally at a spa, but in a place this small, it gave me a vibe of 1) these ppl really did not want to be work there, and 2) there wasn’t a lot for them to say about working there.
I’m not quite sure how to put it in words, but definitely not some place I’m going again. I’ll pay a few more bucks for nearby massage places.

At the recommendation from my BFF; whom assurred me that Feet Island is totally legit and not a «happy endings» kind of place, I can’t get enough of it now!
The first time can be a bit intimidating, however the staff is completely professional and friendly. I come for the foot massages; where your feet are kneaded like dough and feel like they are being tortured. You leave wanting more. A Jackson gets you a 30 minute foot torture fest. You can’t even get a bag chips for that much these days.

The place seems a little scary at first. Hospital beds segregated by curtains. Cheesy elevator music.
One strips down to comfortable level. The last two times, I stripped down all the way and subsequently go rubbed everywhere but no hanky panky. It starts off with a them rubbing through a towel and then using oil.
Here is the thing… it’s really a hit and miss. The first time was ok. The second time was AMAZING! The third and fourth time, I had the same guy. Strangely, the first time he was strong and commendable and the second time, he was weak and not into it.
