This place is super casual, affordable and delicious. I’ve ended quite a few nights with a pizza run to this place and have never been disappointed. Yes… the pizza is ready and waiting for you to pick a slice to be heated but these things sell fast so it’s still fresh.

Famous Original Ray’s Pizza on 7th Avenue was a disappointment. While it always seemed busy, when we stopped in, we were surprised at the blatant condescending service we received. Obviously more tourists than locals here. We also felt ripped off because our bill for 3 slices of pizza was $ 18, which was significantly higher than the prices posted on the menus. Don’t bother.

What can I say, I’m a lover of all pizza(especially cheap pizza) so this place does the trick. They have a wide variety of speciality slices but my friends and I went for plain and were not disappointed. I’m giving it 3 stars because it’s nothing to write home about, but it’s a solid pizza place in Midtown.

The 3 stars are due to the fact that the slices are large and the pizza tastes amazing. The service is fairly quick too. Other than that its $ 7 a slice which is crazy. Walk a street over and you’ll find it for half the price.

No trip to NYC is complete without a visit to Ray’s. Perfect New York style pizza– slices are huge and just the right amount of greasy :) It’s a tight spot and always crowded– be prepared!

Not very good. Pizza is pre-cooked. You buy by the slice. Doughy crust. Sauce not flavorful. Pizza was barely warm. Saturday night and place was very busy. Pizza ready very quickly. Large variety of toppings. Not a place I would return to.

Had to admit, we only stopped here because we were reminiscing about Seinfeld. Pizza was fair. Place is very dated and wasn’t crowded at all. They did have a lot on the menu and they sold Pepsi(the only acceptable soda). Husband had vegetable pizza and I had plain cheese. the sauce was ok. The amount of cheese was fair. The vegetable pizza had a nice assortment of veggies and plenty of them. Standard fair. If you are looking for a quick slice, it would probably be ok. I’m sure there’s better pizza to be had in NYC.

The slices themselves are fine, not the greatest but not bad and they are generously sized, but not sure what has happened with the prices lately. Got a meat slice and a white with a soda and it was $ 13, that seemed like a lot for what it was. I swear you used to be able to get out with that order for under double digits. At the risk of sounding like some old guy who thinks candy should still cost a nickel, I think you can find other options that aren’t so much still in the city and not sure the pizza itself is anything that special to justify it being more(not a particularly unique charred, thin, chewy crust like some places). Used to be my go to shop when staying at the hotels nearby for work but going to have to venture out and try some new things.

Ahah, we stopped with coworkers after having to much to drink fro Diwali. They only had pizza with a lot of salami, bacon and/or chicken as I can remember. Two slices for 13 $, that must be the most expensive of NYC. But it did the trick and saved me a massive headache the next day.

Yeah– not good. Was excited to give my wife some good East Coast Pizza. This fell way short! Crappy pizza that had been sitting out for hours, heated up for literally 15 seconds in the oven. Paid $ 12 for two slices of crap. It wasn’t hot and it wasn’t good. Went back out of desperation for a late night(intoxicated) snack as this was just down the block from out hotel. Still bad after about 12 beers. That’s bad! I missed my authentic slice of NY pie on this trip. Don’t waste your time at this place. It may be famous, but it can’t be for the pizza.

This was recommended by a friend who was born in Chicago, grew up in Montréal, spent several years in LA and has traveled the world sampling some of the best pizza. I was surprised by the 2 star rating on Unilocal but decided his word was good enough. YUMMY! Although the service was NOT friendly and the joint seemed sketchy. We just wanted take away so we could walk and explore. LARGE slices. My girls 12&16 couldn’t even finish one.

Not impressed by this place. Stood in line like forever to order, couldn’t see what they had so when we got to order the guy barked at us to hurry it up. The restaurant was dirty. The tables were dirty. They had no corona beer. It took so long to check out that my pizza got cold and the crust was soggy. Pizza boxes stacked every where. Not impressed. I don’t care if it’s open 24 hours. So is Duane Reade.

A decent pizza, open at all hours, with fairly quick service. Pricey at $ 5.75 plus tax for one slice but that’s not unexpected in the heart of tourist land. I like their crispy crust. The toppings are okay. If you are hungry and it’s late, and you aren’t very picky, this is a good choice.

You really can’t be mad at this place. You can’t. First, it’s open 24 hours a day(you can’t hate on that). Second, it’s inexpensive. No it’s not .99 cent slices but there’s another pizzeria that does that so go there. Third, the slices are huge and nobody needs more than 1 or 2. And lastly, it’s inexpensive. I believe it was like $ 3 per slice. Is it the best pizza in NYC? Probably not but it’s close to the hotel and fast. My husband and I ate here when we needed something to hold us over until dinner and this sure hit the spot. It was quick and had a place for us to eat so we weren’t walking down busy 7th Ave scarfing down our pizza. Not hating. If you want the best pizza in NYC go somewhere else.

I can’t believe people giving this place such poor reviews. Come on, it’s comfort food. It’s 24 hour. It’s delivery. What do you expect? I order from here 2 times, they delivered to my hotel in Central Park. The service was fast, the price was fair, the food was eatable, all of this at 1 am. No complains. Just don’t have high expectations. Cheers

Ugh, I didn’t think it could get any worse but they tried to charge me nearly $ 20 for three slices. I’m not paying $ 7 a slice, idiots! You can try to take advantage of the helpless tourists but I’m not going to put up with that. Please, please tourists… do yourself a favor and go anyplace but here. It won’t kill you to walk over to 8th Avenue and get some pizza there.

Cramped, pricey and semi-okay pizza. The only reason we stopped here was that it was the closest pizza joint to where we were at time. We went around noon and as expected, it was pretty packed. The trays of fresh dough were left uncovered right where customers walk in and out of by the front door, which just put a sour taste in our mouths. For a pepperoni and sausage slice, it ended up being over $ 5, which is pretty crazy considering the slices aren’t that big. Three slices and two fountain drinks ended up being over $ 20, ridiculous.

It’s after midnight, I was staying at the Sheraton less than a block away, and I didn’t feel like going very far. I found this place thanks to Unilocal, and I am very glad I did! For about $ 3 per slice, I ordered Sicilian style pizza. It was a bit salty and double the price of what I’d find in Boston’s North End, but the pizza satisfied my hunger especially since I hadn’t eaten in 6 – 7 hours. I definitely wouldn’t stay to eat though. I don’t think the air conditioner worked. The restaurant seems a bit dilapidated inside, so I would recommend just ordering to-go. My friend ordered the regular New York style pizza, and I thought this tasted better than the Sicilian style pizza. This isn’t pizza I would crave, but for a late night, it’s not too bad!
