Varvara is an Eyebrow stylist! I have been her client for over 10 years and now my daughters are her clients. She works with your facial asymmetry to give your brows a natural arch and definition. She is not a plastic surgeon she will work with what you have. She focuses on you during your appointment and does not rush. If you are looking for a last minute «squeeze me» appointment, she will try to accommodate you, but please know she will spend her time with you to make sure you leave with amazing brows. She is an artist of her craft!

Varvara is amazing — I have light eyebrows and eyes that are shaped very differently. She manages to balance it all out, given them a perfect arch for my face and tint them just right to provide definition to my facial features. Honestly, her eyebrow work is the most important ‘make-​up’ I wear and has been for the past 5-​years. She has an excellent eye and takes the time to get it right. I see her at her midtown location, which is conveniently located.
Fair warning that she is not a miracle worker with over tweezed/​too thin brows — no one is. She cannot create additional coverage where there is none. That said, if you plan ahead with time to grow back and shape she can work with you to make your eyebrows look amazing!

Varvara is a perfectionist. She has hands of gold and is able create the perfect shaped brow. Having thicker eyebrows I had a hard time finding a specialist who is able to contour my brows into the perfect shape consistently. She takes her time and takes every aspect of your face into account. Highly recommend Varvara if you are looking for an expert contour brow

Came all the way to Varvara’s office from Brooklyn to be refused service and told that my eyebrows were too thin to work with. Err, that’s why I came to you for help? That’s why I’m willing to pay for your service? I think the real reason she didn’t want to see me was that I was leaving the country and she only wanted repeat customers. Seems like the hype is that – hype.

My eyebrows needed major change and thank god I found Varvara! She is a true expert in what she does! Varvara understands that an eyebrow creates the face and she tailors the shape accordingly to the individual. She is not your typical salon stylist who does a quick wax or tweeze just to clean the stray hairs. She is meticulous and takes her time with you when you sit in her chair. She explains the steps she will take to make your eyebrows better and shares some tricks on maintaining the look in between appointments.

Amazing!
After years of patronizing overzealous waxers, I’ve been tireless in my pursuit of a competent replacement. I asked around among my beauty-​savvy friends and cross-​checked online ratings. With no negative reviews, Varvara seemed like a reasonably safe bet. She has two locations: midtown and in NJ right by the GW bridge. I opted for her midtown location, and ended up getting held up the afternoon of my appointment. I sent her a note to see if I could still come, and she was very understanding, even though I arrived 45 minutes behind our scheduled time. She has a small, clean studio, and she is lovely with her own beautiful brows (a good initial sign). She examined my face and we discussed my preference for tweezing over waxing (I prefer this as waxing can be damaging to this sensitive part of your face).
She began to meticulously work on my brows and spent nearly 30 minutes perfecting them. She showed me the end product and explained what she had done. She also showed me how to effectively use a brow pencil for more definition as well.
Though her shaping isn’t cheap ($ 75 for tweezing), the amount of time and attention she gives to her clients justifies this expense (many waxers and threaders are a fraction of this price, but you’re in and out in 5 minutes). Leaving her studio, it was the first time I have ever been 100% satisfied with my brows and had no complaints. She is a great find!

You can have brows like a movie star if you let Varvara do her magic. She is a true artist and made my sparse, ugly, shapeless, brows grow beautifully.
For added glam she will tint them to give extra definition that lasts. And you will love this charming beautiful lady. …a great beauty treatment all the way around. We’ll worth the price.

I have been going to Varvara since 2004 and she is EXCELLENT! My eyebrows are always ABSOLUTELY PERFECT walking out of her studio. She really understands how to balance out your brows so they best suit your face.
