I’ve been to many Europa Café locations around Manhattan and while the food and service are usually good, the 57th St. and 7th Ave location is pretty bad. I will never go back to this location. The food prep cooks do not listen very closely to you when you order as they are more interested in making jokes behind the counter. I was going here a few times a week and would usually order a small breakfast. On any particular day, the quality of the food and the portions sizes would vary greatly. Lat week I ordered a breakfast special to go. The potatoes and bacon were like cement and the eggs were burned. There is no attention paid to the quality of the food leaving the kitchen I will not be returning to this particular location in the future. The only positive thing I can mention is that the cashiers were always friendly.

Good bagel with cream cheese & coffee. We went Sunday morning at 7 am and it was empty. Prices were moderate

The food is subpar. I went for breakfast and I left hungry and thoroughly upset. The waitstaff is friendly but that’s it. I had a steak quesadilla and it had no seasoning, the croissants, dry(if you can imagine that) and the coffee, oh no.

It’s as cheap as it’s going to get in NYC. Sandwiches were pretty good. Desserts were overpriced but again, it’s NYC.

We only stopped in here because my husband had just finished running a 5K in Central Park. Very crowded, the food was just barely ok, and the cup of coffee(regular coffee, not a cappuccino or a latte) was $ 6.00. Enough said.

Coffee TWOSTARS — weak and lacks flavor. If McDonalds is a one star, and Starbucks is a four star, this coffee is a one and a quarter star. Tried espresso, latte, and café Americano, … None had any flavor. Gave them three quarters of a star for a clean well lit establishment.

The staff was incredibly friendly and the food generally good. We chose this place because it would be easy with young children. Unfortunately, the fruit dish seemed to be followed by bugs/gnats. Also, there was a piece of plastic in our French toast. Although it was quickly replaced, there was no offer to change the bill or add a dessert — perhaps if you’re handling primarily tourists, there is no need for repeat business. Also, the bathroom is down steep stairs in the basement.

No disappointments here. Large café with enough room for families. Good café near Central Park. Great for mothers with small children looking for dining to or from the park. Tables by Windows to people watch as you fine. The ingredients are fresh and the dishes I ordered were good.

The good was ok here. Had the veggie sandwich and a wrap. Slightly pricey and the staff isn’t courteous.

Popular place for breakfast. I had the house special, which is the French Toast. It was delicious. They also have food to go. This is great if you want to spend the day at Central Park, and take something to munch on.

Love this place, this is my go-to for lunch when I’m at work. The staff is always friendly, great food, awesome prices. It is always clean and even though it’s busy most of the time, they will always give you the undivided attention you deserve. Been coming here for over 11 years, and will continue.

The sit down portion of this place is usually packed with tourists but the take out area you’re usually able to get in and out pretty quickly! I’ve only been there for coffee, but it’s clean, efficient and the workers are pretty friendly. Gotta go three stars on this!

I ordered Apple crepes to go. I was surprised when I got the crepes from the chef, because it was really big I’ve never seen before. But it was my first time to eat crêpe outside Japan, so it might be regular size for American. The taste was… not bad. the gel kind of glaze, it was like massive amount of potato starch, and I became full after a few bite. i took them out from the crêpe and ate it.

Make it 3.5 stars. A block from Central Park so this place is always going to be crowded. Stopped in for lunch, large menu with pretty big portions so 4 people ordered 2 personal pizzas. Pizza was good and the 2 pies were enough for us. I know it is Manhattan but I will never get used to paying $ 50 for 4 cups odf coffee and 2 personal pizzas.

Only now do I realise this place is part of a chain. And BOY, does that make sense! Possibly the worst dining experience we had in our long NYC weekend, the missus and I stopped by for a spot of breakfast before venturing into the arctic tundra of Central Park. To start us off the waitress seemed not to understand our English. Whether that was down to the accents or simply a lack of common sense, we will never know, but when we asked for a bagel menu, she simply directed our attention to the counter on the other side of the café where they were kept(we had already been seated by this point), so we then asked if we could order a custom bagel, to which she replied«yes», but when we started to detail our filling preferences, she then backtracked and treated us(quite rudely) as if we had misunderstood her and that those on display were all that was on offer. Not quite sure how many ways you can misconstrue a ‘Yes’ answer to a yes/no question, but hey-ho. We moved on. I had scrambled eggs with pork sausage, mini bagels and fried potatoes, while the missus opted for the Three Cheese Grilled Sandwich with side of fresh fruit and a cappuccino. For my part the eggs were dry and small in portion. Looking at other diners’ plates, it seemed I drew the short straw in terms of portioning. The potatoes were nicely cooked but under-seasoned… in fact no seasoning at all. The bagel was dry and tough, and the sausages tasted very odd… to the point I’m not so sure they were pork at all. The missus never saw her Three Cheese Grilled Sandwich. The amount of cheese that was presented on the sandwich she received(inexplicably alongside tomato and ham!?) could not even be considered as ‘Single Cheese’. More like ‘half-cheese’. She received a Half Cheese, Ham and Tomato Sandwich, which A) wasn’t what she ordered, and B) was dreadful in it’s own right. The cappuccino was also crap she went on to advise; the only saving grace being the fruit… at least they cut it up right. All in all this was the only meal of the weekend that made me feel robbed. Not even a little robbed. Full on Snickers-in-the-back-pretend-like-it’s-a-gun-gimme-all-your-money-and-your-gloves-for-good-measure kinda robbed. Cold service, crap food, over-priced. Not fun. On top of all the above, since returning home and trying to remember the name of the place, I have only now discovered Europa Café have the WORST website known to man! What on earth is a site of this design trying to achieve?! Could not find a full menu, such as that you peruse in-house, at all. Absolutely bizarre. Avoid in both environments.

We came here for a quick bite hour before the 8 pm recital that we need to see at Carnegie Hall. We used it also as a meeting place for our group. Location is very accessible to the train station and waking distance to the hall. The staff was accommodating. It is a descent place, there are rooms both for restaurant and café. While waiting in their café area, I tried their chocolate covered croissant with almond sprinkles to go with my light coffee. It was a little hard for me unless I didn’t noticed that it is toasted style. Price is alright. Probably better compared to other café within the area. I would come back if time permitted and will try their food. My review is good right now for location, accessibility and ambiance.

This is the first time we’ve tried this place. We came because I saw the crepes advertised. I ordered the spinach, cremini and feta crêpe. It looked good. Then I cut in and took a bite. It was ice cold. My husbands wrap was frozen in the middle. I wonder if it was supposed to have been fresh? So, we sent them both back. We told the waitress and she was happy to taken back. We just got them back and both are very good.

How do I put this? I don’t mind paying 20 $ for coffee, OJ, and an omelette, in NY of course, but when all three are tasteless, bland, lacking in flavor, generally void of redeeming qualities of any sort, well I feel like I was taken advantage of. Tell you what, NY has about 485 gazillion breakfast locales… Find another.

Got an egg sandwich, croissant and muffin for breakfast here. While not great, the food was good and we were satisfied. Bonus star for the prices which are very reasonable. Only $ 5 for egg, cheese and sausage on a hard roll.
